It's lovely to see there are some students who still darn their pointe shoes!  A lot of people just cut the satin off or even let it fray, I think it looks so ugly. I would never have been allowed in class if my pointe shoes weren't darned!

Different people have different preferences when darning pointe shoes. There's nothing wrong with using blanket stitch, your instructions are just fine. I've linked to them from my pointe shoe site!

i just do it around the outside, not a whole circle! filling it in takes FOREVER!

usually i just cut the sating off haha

ew i just want to darn the perimeter of the tip of my pointe shoes :/

.....you only need to do it once around.not 10 times.

what a shame. this is how my teacher showed me how to darn them. There was a lack of good, clear pictures and instructions on the internet, so I thought I would help some dancers out. If you would like to post your own instructions, please do, and I will remove mine. Best wishes.

my dance teacher wouldn't be impressed if I went with my pointe shoes darned like that!! You need to chain stitch them because when you pirouette en pointe it's alot smoother!!!
