  • Blew Away Every other guitarist @ Claptons Crossroads Concert-Just Amazing!

    Great Post,Obrigado!!

  • Natural born guitarist... fantastic. Thanks for posting this!

  • JB using a gibson? I thought wikipedia lied to me! I'm sorry

  • What pixel is jeff ?

  • Are there any questions as to where Christopher Guest got his inspiration for Nigel Tuffnel? Thanks for posting!!!

  • I always thought this was his best band, and one of his best tunes.

  • fantastic, BRAVO!!

  • The Best !!!! Forever !!!!

  • Heil Talk Box

  • That was tremendous--you can see him transitioning to the "no pick" style

  • most excellent

  • Jeff Beck with a very good band. Funky!

  • The best of Jeff Beck is his good taste when playing, besides he is the standard british rock guitarrist.

  • VERY cool! I really like his Gibson period. Thanks for putting this up.

  • got it..

  • any one know who the bass player is?

  • Beck cerainly keeps innovating I saw him a couple of weeks back he just makes you sit up and listen !

  • Cool video!

  • I prefer the old Beck. I want to enjoy his playing but the whammy stuff gets on my nerves. He should play differently once in a while. My humble opinion.

  • My favourite rock virtuoso! and that bass player is Amazing....really !

  • love his early fusion playing, like on this video. his playing was at his peak here, to me atleast. so fast a fluent. he just doesnt sound like this anymore. still incredible though, i mean hey, its jeff beck.

  • Jeff Beck doesn't peak... he just gets better and better with age(unlike any of his counterparts Clapton or Page)... he is constantly re-inventing himself while the whole time sounding like himself... that is why he rules!

  • word.

  • @drumjedi

Agreed, the guy is amazing! Like a good wine he gets better with aging.

  • @drumjedi

    totally agree with you!!

  • hes so much better when he isnt using his whammy bar exessively.

  • thx, incredible performance !

  • Amazing how great musicians sound like themselves no matter what make/model of instrument they play.

  • very cool. happy birthday jeff

  • woah, i've been listening to this for 34 years and never realized it was the len/mac song; and i'm a giant beatles fan and player!!!

  • My favourite guitarist ever! The best!

  • Does anyone know what is this thing which he uses to sing?

  • @barumbura - it's called a Talk Box. Google it - lots of info on the web.

Who's in the band? I'm guessing it's Max M on keys but the rhythm section doesn't sound like Phil Chen and Richard Bailey on the album.

  • great performance, and followed by Julian Bream, no less!

    Those were the days.....

  • Stunning, love this version

  • Always one of my favorite Beck songs. This is really a great surprise to see this on video. Much different than the version I'm used to on "Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer Live".

  • blow by blow &wired:his best period

  • There and back ?

  • Holy shit. Right there at 3:18, he puts the pick in his mouth and starts playing like he does now. I didn't realize he was doing that so far back.

  • I miss this days - when I could actually figure out what he was doing. I can't play his new stuff at all. The only guitarist in the planet I can say that about.

  • Really; you can play like Debashish Bhattacharya, Paco DeLucia, John Stowell, Allan Holdsworth, John McLaughlin, Pat Martino, Guthrie Govan, Pat Metheny, etc? You must be unbelievably good, or full of shit; I wonder which.

  • For the record, the key words are "new stuff at all". I can pretty much figure out large chunks of what those people are doing. That's not much of a feat really. 6 string, 12 notes, 22 to 24 frets. How hard can it be? Playing something original is the real trick.

  • hey the drummer is one ugly bastard !, great playing though

  • an inspiration to mortal guitarists

  • Tremendisimamente TREMENDOOOO!!!

  • orgasmic!

  • i love this fuckin song and jeff use to be a bassist so haha to all you guitarist

  • Jeff is the baaaaaaaaaaaaaaadest!

  • What a great find this video is! Thanks so much for posting.

  • From "Blow By Blow." Way, way funkier than the Beatles' original. Phil Chenn (bass), Richard Bailey (drums). This great album is noted for Beck's endless phoning to producer George Martin requesting do-overs of every solo - including one two months after the original take - after the album was already in stores!

Nice talk box work from the world's angriest vegetarian/genius.
