I think it's worth it. I started with an inexpensive no-coverlock non babylock machine. Then I switched to a non babylock coverstitch machine. Finally upgraded to a babylock and I am beyond happy with it. The additional use I get out of it makes up for the additional cost.
There is a warranty for the product included with the machine that includes product casing for 25 years, defective parts are 10 years, electrical is 5 years and labor is 1 year. We aslo have an accessory product called Gold Standard that is optional. Gold standard is not a warranty. It can’t be called a warranty because it’s an extended service program. The benefits are above and beyond the warranty and can be found at babylock.com

Just found out that you can purchase this between 2600 to 2800. If you purchase the warranties then add 300-400 more.
