  • Steve Austin actually did the Lou Thesz Press much better than Tommy Rich did in this match. Austin never used the move to win matches. Rather, it was a move for show to get the crowd going as after hitting it he'd do a flurry of right hands and give the double bird to boot.

    Tommy Rich must have been boozing with Jake Roberts or somebody before the match. I think he was drunk when he cut that promo.

  • Steve Austin & Trish Stratus both used the Thesz Press in nearly every match they had, but I'm not sure if they ever got a win with it. But hey, Greg Gagne was also winning matches with dropkicks during this time.
