On Snow Leopard there is screen recording built-in to Quicktime X. You should put this in an annotation just when you say "There is currently no free desktop recording software for the Mac" :) 5*

i deleted my photo booth by accident do you know how to get it back?

@CockerillT Open the trash, find the photo booth app and drag it out of the trash and place it in the apps folder.

hey how can u use a movie you accidentaly threw out? on imovie 06 I think

i'm not sure what you mean... did you quit imovie and not save your movie, or did you toss the imovie file in the trash and empty the trash?
If you emptied the mac trash can, you're s.o.l.
If you open imovie and it asks about view stuff in trash (imovie's trashcan) then you can click YES and select all the clips you wanted to save.
