  • This place is nuts on a level one game. I wouldn't mind living there though.

  • this is the best dungeon theme in my opinion but still it has a little view why i wonder!!!

  • I looove this song! It's much more enjoyable to listen to when you've played it through already and ***SPOILER*** know you're going to save Eiko :p And when you are PREPARED for those damn dragons.

  • Now I'm thinking about it... (Just before I get bashed I KNOW that all the different FF's are in seperate universes)

But I kinda feel like FF9 is like FF1 except, well, it's FF9 lol :P

And it's all about how crystals are basically... Omnipotent etc. and important in the end etc. etc. :P

Which is kinda the main FF thing... :\

Maybe it's because it was the LAST proper Final Fantasy before it started to change...

    *Looks at 11 12 13 and 14*

    What have they done...? :'(

  • fucking true

  • *Walks into Dark Room*

    *Red Dragon Bursts through Wall*

Me: OMG! My heart , it hurts!

    Red Dragon: Hehehe

  • If you know this song, you have survived a heart attack

  • @Pabloparsil HEY! I'm not THAT old.... but yeahhhhhh blast from the past here

  • 0 dislikes because the Mole-People who lived her all died.

  • I love the cover art of this game.. it should read in fine print "pretty much the only 5 people in the game worth having on your team"...

  • @Borickcreator Except Freya-Quina-Steiner-Zidane was the best lineup you could pick. Angel Snack for team remedies, Frog Drop, Dragon Crest, Shock, Theivery for constant 9999 damage unreflectable ranged attacks, all 4 are fairly durable with White Wind and Rei's Wind for healing, and Auto-life if you are feeling hinky.

  • @Borickcreator Except that Freya is the best character for solo runs and so forth and Quina is AWESOME when you put the time into Him/her

  • wait a sec... isnt this the same soundtrack as mithril mines??

  • @981407036x yep

  • @981407036x It was a dungeon music in FF1 and it was remixed for FF9 (this version) and for the chocobo race game (mithril mines), because this theme really rocks :')

  • LOL those Red Dragons are crazy. Here I'm wandering though Mt. Gulug looking for Kuja and all of a sudden huge dragons burst in though the roof and scare the shit of me.

  • I think there were a few times where it took all I had not to dance

  • @PeyserConley Anybody know where I can find the music when Cid must solve different tasks to let the party out of their entrapment in Kuja's Desert Palace? What's the name of the track? It's kinda like a blues rock theme, I think. Thanks ;D

  • @Pomme843 The Sneaky Frog and the Scoundrel track

  • @Asparagus428 Hey, thanks!

  • Magnifique.

  • thankfully square wasnt power hungry with the dragons in this one we know how they can get with there dragons O.o

  • Integrating the best stuff from the past with the newer technology = HOLY GEEZUS I THINK I JUST CAME, LIKE. A LOT

  • HA! I knew it, its the dungeon music from FF1. I was trying to find this track for awhile and couldn't find the FF9 track for it. cool!

  • @mazgazine1 i loved it when played FF1 and heard this, one of my fav ff soundtracks

  • This is similar to FFI Gurugu volcano theme and Chocobo Racing Mithril mines theme..

  • @Asparagus428 This isn't similar, it's completely the same, just slightly remixed. Maybe it is even the same mountain, who knows?

  • @MeingroessterFan i misused a word.. i meant very much the same.. :D but maybe the mount gulug is inspired by Gurugu volcano..

  • @Asparagus428 Maybe? I think it's pretty sure, the same music, nearly same name.

  • Love this music!

  • Damn those Red dragons, specially the last one under the lever, the most shocking moment for me in this game.

  • @Thewolf00ksa Did you eat them ???'Cus i did and i fught fire with fire:P

  • I'm playing FF9 again right now.. Have beat this game countless times, but now I'm playing this on a emulator with better graphics! Even though graphics say nothing to me, but this is fun! And right now I'm at disk 3.. On my way (At Mount Gulug) saving Eiko. ;-)

  • @MikeCervello

can you send me a link with the emulator +bios+plugins ? i cant find all athrough google -.-

i was a idiot when i sold my ps1 controllers

  • could it be that the world in FF9 and FF1 is the same??? because of the four element guys and the gulug volcano/mount ??? I´ve never played 1 but I now a little of the story and its on my to play list.

  • @TheMatl96 FF9 was mainly inspired by ff1.

  • @bicycleboy55

FF9 was a Back to the Roots FF

so it was inspired from ff1-6

  • @rebelle111 pointless comment, thats what i just said...

  • @bicycleboy55 FF 9 was a Back to the Roots FF

so it was inspired from ff1-6

  • @bicycleboy55

technically it was inspired by all the final fantasies before it. even ff7 and 8 got a reference here.

  • @TheMatl96

its not the same world but FF9 was a Back to the Roots FF

you`ll find much things of ff1-6 stuff in it like the doga and une theme when you bought dogas mirror and unes artifact and active then the player in the black mage village

  • wiii, this brought memories from FF1 :3 .... (and globlin's mine from chocobo racing :P)

  • I hate the stupid mole in that place where the music plays :/

  • Wish old final fantasy system and style comes back with a modern touch :(

  • this is my absolute fav song from this game. i love it!

  • @cuwfan that bird monster you're referring to issa Red Dragon

even though they're pretty easy to kill

  • That's a remasterd version of a song in FF1 !

  • That's here you get 2 blue magic spells.... and only here.

If you don't know and you leave without eating the 2 corresponding monsters, then there is no way to get those spells later....

    Don't forget it ;-p

  • i went into a small map and a bird monster crushed the wall out of no where

    i was shocked

  • This would make a good ringtone.

  • It's a remix of gulug volcano from 1

  • F*ck*ng red dragon screamer

  • reminds me of paper mario on N64..... soooo old school

  • This song was quality!

  • One of my favourite songs ever, I love this rendition of Gurugu Volcano.

  • Did anyone get to this point and recognise the theme from FF I? Because I hadn't played FF I before I played this one, and I wondered what it was like to hear this again.

  • @leftymu I just played FF1 shortly before this and I was like O_o How the heck is this possible???

  • @leftymu I was like "Oh, yes, I love this song" I was so happy remembering how catchy it was....Then I remembered the fight against Malarith using only black mages...Screw it, it's catchy :D

  • @TheTimc91

    Haha, cool :)

  • Song comes from the cave with the ogre in it that you have to give a ruby too in FF1. I have to say it sounds much better not being in 8-bit.

  • @Kizznth there is also a remix of pandemonium castle from FF2

  • Have i heard thi song before??????O_O og god where have i heard this thin ??????

  • @MrBestcrash i know! in Final Fantasy I. Just search it!

  • have i heard this song before .....O_O

  • wait a minute..........its so familiar O_O oh god

  • This was one of my favourite tracks in t-[RED DRAGON BURSTS INTO THE COMMENTS SECTION AND GIVES YOU A HEART ATTACK]

  • @omnium9134 lmao..yes.

  • This brings back major memories.

  • My favorite song in this ENTIRE game.

  • Comment removed

  • I was listening to my step brother play FF IX and heard this peice. I was like "... Wait... ive heard this from soemwhere else before... -remembers Mount Gulg from FFI- Oh yeah!"

  • @RyanA136 interesting fact, this IS Mount Gulg as well :) Gulug is the mistranslation.

  • @sk8dudejames Funny thing is, i always read it as Gulge

  • Where was this song in the game?

  • @maximusthecockatiel In Mount Gulug...

    >.>

  • @YOMANA666 Oh when i found all stelazio!

  • @maximusthecockatiel There are no stellazio in Mount Gulug >.<

  • @YOMANA666 I was kidding, this is my fav game

  • My fave FFIX tune.

  • One of the best dungeon tracks in FF1 and in FF9...too bad the dungeon wasn't a bit longer.

  • This is my second favorite song of Final fantasy 9 just after You're not alone.

  • Loved this theme.

  • I have always loved this song...it gives me peace

  • If anyone was wondering specifically, it's the music for Gurgu Volcano in ff1.

  • @ 0:32 is where you can hear it.

  • I swear that parts of this theme sounds like Sonic's Lava Reef.

  • Hey! No weird glitch/noise in this! How?

  • I used to always keep a save file on my memory card near this portion the game because it's impossible to return to Mt Gulug after disc 4. But thanks to youtube I can listen to this great song whenever and free up some space on my memory card!

  • NO! not this theme!! gahh, i love this score so much.....but the stupid bird demon things...! remember that really long rope you had to climb down...then the camera angle got all messed up and a bird demon BURST THROUGH THE FREAKING WALL?! yeah...that one got me stuck for WEEKS. =[

  • @xnaminex618 Weren't they Green or White dragons or something? They awarded a lot EXP and AP though :D

  • @EricB042389 They were Red Dragons, with a nice Fire Breath that took out half your team.

  • @Eweiit damn lol that's pretty much all i remember about this place XD

  • Ok, I guess I have to correct myself - FF9 owns all, except 7, which it is on par with. There, all better :-)

  • Love this. Definitely has a "old school" (NES or SNES game) feel to it. FF9 owns all. The reason it doesn't beat 7 for me is because, like many others, it was my first FF.

  • Place i Return Someday

    You're not Alone

    Mont Gulug

    Black Mage Village

    Roses of may

    The best musics ^^

  • @Neitoloco don't forget dali or esto gaza

  • @duuhgreatjob

yep =D nice musics too, principaly dali...

  • @Neitoloco LOVE THE DALI THEME!!!

  • would make a sick heavy metal version

  • Hearing this song makes me want to play this game again.... for the 8th time? lol

  • @xivinrah You can´t play this game too many times

  • @D4mnYouSir Agreed :D

  • @xivinrah I think I'm on my eighth or ninth time right now

  • It was also remixed for the funny Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales.

  • Peyser, you better not disappear like a certain female did. (though NOT her fault, damn YouTube) I'm starting to fav your tunes you upload here.

  • Loved this song. Hated when red dragons crashed the party.

  • @dingobean o man hated those fricken dragons soo much.

  • @IceQueen1387 It's actually a remake from FF1's Volcano.

    watch?v=gYdSH34z5hg

  • ive heard this tune...somewhere before and not jus in FF9...does anyone know if this was on another game? cos it sounds so familiar :S lol

  • @IceQueen1387 It was in FF 1 as well, only slightly remixed here.

  • @PeyserConley aw thank u ^.^ ive played ff1 before bu was ages ago....jus thinking if was in another game bu i cant find that ther was another with this song so think it was jus ff1....lol thanks :)

  • @PeyserConley Iv recently required it and heard it thanks :) tho i heard it somwhere before it bu i dno wher tbh :S might hav been my own imagination lol XD

  • @PeyserConley Why does the title say "Gulgur Volcano" it's simply Gulug Volcano. I don't know where you got gulgur from.

  • @brutalhits Different languages have different variations of the spelling.

  • @MellifluousDawn I have discovered that it's spelled differently due to translation problems. so annoying when that happens.

  • @PeyserConley and ff3

  • @PeyserConley

I just started playing FF1, and it is starting to sound like an awful lot like the Earth Cave. Is it just me, or very similar?

  • @LindsL84 The Fiend's Caves (IIRC the Tiamat doesn't get it) have this music, as some other dungeons. So the Earth Cave, containing the Lich, has this as does the Underwater Shrine containing the Kraken. However, this song is named after Mount Gulgu, where the Marilith-Kary resides.

  • @IceQueen1387 Original Final Fantasy at Mount Gulg maybe?

  • @MCirvana Aw thank u, might be that yesh :) il leave it at that lol thanks u guys :D

  • @IceQueen1387 i think so 2 but i dont remember wehre i heard it maybe is not originaly from ff9 but still great ^^

  • @sonytekkno yeah ^^ im not so sure...its so weird how i recognise it XD maybe was on another RPG game, or music may seem to be same and similar tho different, i dnt know >.< but yeah...gah i wish i knew what makes me think ive heard this before...another game :) thanks u for thinking same as me :) lol i think its great too! ^^

  • @IceQueen1387 but i still will know where i heard it :D

it will be a secret ;)

  • @IceQueen1387 Also in Chocobo Racing and in Chocobo Tales :)

  • @Fatebreaker90 Ah cool! Thanks you! :D tho never played them >.< haha!;; lol thanks again! Gosh it is in a few things this tune :)

  • @IceQueen1387 Haha, so I wasn't crazy to think this had an NES/SNES feel to it (see the comment I posted just before this one)!!!

  • @IceQueen1387 it was also a track from chocobo racing

  • @IceQueen1387 It also was on "Chocobo Tales" for the DS, maybe you heard it there. ^^

  • @ShukakuTheDemon Aw thanks :) ive never played chocobo tables for DS tho :S haha! i dno how or where i listened to it before, but who knows haha xD thanks anyways ^^ rly thanks ^^

  • @IceQueen1387 Perhaps you heard it on FFI or perhaps you heard it from Chocobo Racing.

  • @IceQueen1387 The goblin mines. forgot what FF series this was though :)

  • I like how they arranged one of my favorite FFI tracks. I was quite happy to hear this.

  • HAHAHAHA thas right! XD

  • this was one of my favorite themes to listen to while tryin to save eiko, it just made it seem like the game was tryin to say 'sure there's a thousand things tryin to kill you, but hey, here's a catchy tune to make it all better'

  • @Freakazzoid49002 Kinda sucked when the music had to break off when you went into a battle though...

  • @JakeObBeren yeah, sometimes, i would just stand in one place just to listen to it
