@AbbyIsMyWeim Hi!!! 4 males in a cage should be fine, I had girls, but then looked after 3 boys in one cage for 6 months or so and they were really chilled and happy. The cage in this video is a Savic Freddy, and is ok for 4.

i want to get a rat for a pet..i have a question for anyone...what all can rat eat? i have seen videos of pet rat eat..corn, peas,cheese and some other things is that ok for a rats? :D

@october3111 Hi! I fed mine a mix of 50% rabbit food 10% dry dog biscuit and 40% cereals, like value brand cornflakes, or shreded wheat, or something low sugar. Some shops also do a bag of rat food. They love peas and corn, any veg, potato, or a little spoon of your dinner every once and a while! Cheese and dairy products seems to give them diarrhoea. Also, I def recommend getting two rats, it's no more trouble than one, they need the company and is fun to watch 2 play together! Enjoy! :)

@october3111 be careful, while rats can generally eat most people foods, some foods can actually kill your rat or make them ill. for example, blue cheese is not good, pineapple can kill them, bread is good. There are great sites that give you tons of ideas and I recommend joining the yahoo group for pet rat owners. You will be amazed at the things you can do for your rat.

@butternutsoup aww i would love to get another one but my parents didn't know about me buying Max (my brother signed the papers for me and my parents let me keep him) so they won't be too excited about me bringing another rat into the house... oh well... i'll be sneaky ;) only for my lil guy's happiness, although i wouldn't exactly call him miserable xD lol

My little guys love those peas too. I often thought it was because its a perfect size for those cute paws. Being sweet doesnt hurt too. Are those mushrooms in there? I didnt know ratties like that.

:) It's tiny little potatoes in with the peas, they are their second favorite! But, they love mushrooms too! They might just be a bit greedy tho! :)

Spitting out the skins seems to be a universal....we call the aftermath, The Great Pea Massacre! Ours like frozen kernal corn, and baby ears of corn, too.

(try floating frozen peas in a dish of water...Pea Fishin'!)

Pea fishing starts wars in our house. One of the girls hates to get her feet wet so she steals the others "fished" peas!!

do you have to cook the peas and then feed them to them hot? or let them cool down?

In the summer when it's hot I just give them to them straight from the freezer, but usually they have them uncooked, as they thaw pretty quickly anyway. Happy pea adventures!!
