  • Hi,ERM... my name isnt Brian? its Mark . A fast waltzer and love the cars.

  • @BROADTRAIN1979 oh i got you mixed up with someone else haha! cheers for the comment! :)

  • Maxwells is the main company for waltzers in scotland, although orton and spooner and jacksons also used to make them as a maxwells is normally a flatback but conversions to 4 hill and a rare 11 car 5 hill (ark converted) orton and spooner owned by Bian print.

  • @BROADTRAIN1979 Hi Brian this waltzer is being converted into a porter machine! Thanks for the info!

  • Nice video and a great looking waltzer. Isn't John revamping it to a Fairtrade waltzer?

  • good waltzer, the cars just need more modern artwork!

  • ive seen so many good waltzers packed but why do they always play crap music play something with beat ect n create an atmosphere :)

  • @raeven74 this one doesn't play crap music, garage, funky house is what this machine plays and always garantees a fantastic atmosphere! just look at the reactions from the riders!

  • @245thegreat Do they get these machines made then buy them of a manufacutrer or do they build them there selfs?

  • @mcwhizzkid123 The waltzers are built by one team of people who sell them to showman who want to buy them, but a lot of the older waltzers no longer have that same team of people who build them. A lot of companies who built them have since retired or stop producing them. One company from the Porters' is popular at making fold up waltzers which have metal platforms instead of wood. The structure also includes fold up metal parts which make them faster to build and pull down.

  • @245thegreat Cool you sure know your stuff dont ya lol , so if i was to buy one how much would one of them cost ?

  • @mcwhizzkid123 Depends how much flash you want to include, and how much time you want to spend decorating with artwork, lights etc, your probably talking 150 - 200k+

  • @245thegreat Wow that's alot of ,omey , love to know where the trvllers get it from lol , probab;y from working hard i suppose !

  • @mcwhizzkid123 not travellers they are showman in a guild which dates back to the 18th century =]

and yes they do work very hard i work with a london showman myself hard work building and pulling the ride down but worth it to entertain people :)

  • @245thegreat Very true , and i know they work hard to entertain people , cause i used to work on a funfair on the waltzerz the one in bromsgrove (uK) worcetershire , and it was alot of fun , :)

  • @mcwhizzkid123 Great to know youve been a part of history great stuff!

  • @245thegreat yh exactly its history , i hope the funfair comes to walsall in the west midlands "uk" soon , cause i would love to work on the waltzers again !

  • Harrison I've bookmarked the website m8 and will keep looking in, just a question about John's machine, do you know if the ark pulley is still on the motor? as this would obviously make the machine quicker. When Dowses was a convertible we changed the large ark pulley for a smaller waltzer pulley when swapping from one to the other, all the best Bri...great vid btw!!!

  • Thanks for that, I try and update my site as much as I can, I am limited where I go due to funds but that will change soon.

I'm really not sure about the pulley, an educated guess would be yes, but I can't ask him until next year, as I only see this waltzer once a year at the festival unfortunatly! What i will suggest if you're able to find out, Micheal Price owned this waltzer before, so maybe you can get more dated information whilst in his ownership.

    Thanks for the comment, Rg.

  • i filmed this at waltham abbey townshow back in july' thought it was priceswaltzer? i was wrong' great footage' better than mine and yes 'very fast! thanks for post.

  • it has been owned by john since 2004, it's a brilliant waltzer and always has a good atmosphere. It really is a very fast machine and I love how all of the cars give a fast spin and you don't always have to push them. thanks for commenting.
