  • probably some honda boy marked my comment as spam, tsk tsk---blind loyalty, not being objective at all.

  • hey who marked my comment as a spam? I'm not advertising for anyone. I'm a legitimate car owner who recently went through research of most models available before I got my mazda3.

  • 41 highway on a regular combustion engine!?? When did this happen? What is the MPG on the automatic? That might put it above the corolla for me if it gets 41 MPG!

  • @whole27 I own a honda civic coupe 2012, and the MPG is ridiculously good i gotta tell ya, with cruise control and econ, never goes below 35MPG, and could go up to 55MPG or even more

  • @123gladius that one lady sued honda b/c they lied about how many MPG's their honda's got or at least their hybrids...i have a hard time beleiveing that their gas combustion engine/non-hybrid civic really gets 41 MPG or anything close to that:)

  • Why is the honda civic coupe worth leasing instead of buying?

  • i wouldn't lease it or buy it

  • i prefer a 2012 kia forte koup

  • If you want power then buy the Si version. It has ~60+ horse power.

  • Is this car small enough to be your first car?

  • The compact car segment in 2012 is amazing. Back in 2008 you either had two choices - the Mazda 3 for fun and sport or the Civic for economy and reliability. After testing driving the Elantra, Civic, Cruze, Focus and Mazda 3 you really can't go wrong, just comes down to preference. Mazda 3 for fun, Cruze for style and ride, Civic for reliability and reputation, Focus for the Euro flair and Elantra for affordability.

  • @bobmortock So true, so which one would you get?

  • honda needs to bring back the em1

  • Kia Forte looks a lot better than the new civic

  • lol, yes it does.... but their is alot more to a car than that. 3 main things= chassis, engine, transmission. KIA's got none of em. people who know nothing about cars will buy them for the looks and will pay for it 3 years later

  • Buy it if 4-door, but lease it if 2-door? But the only way to get manual on a 4-door in the US is to get an LX or lower, or an Si. 2-door at least gets it up to EX (but not EX-L, nor with Navi). Stupid typical American targeted marketing. At least Si gets all the stuff with manual, except leather seats, which I don't want anyway.

  • Ugliest Civic of all time

  • The rear of the Civic coupe reminds me of the Nissan Altima Coupe...

  • @stough77 more like toyota camry 2003

  • I have own about 5 civics and Honda has killed my most loved car with the this and the last year civic

  • where is the coin tray? pls tell me pls pls.

  • What are they talking about? This looks nothing like the 2006-2011 Civic coupe.

  • @yynotnnh "woo I've had no problems with my new car" No shit sherlock. Try owning one that's 15-20 years old before saying Honda's are endlessly reliable. Imports DO break down from time to time. Unless, it's a VW< Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, or BMW, I haven't ever heard of a newer car breaking down within the first 7 years

  • It don't even look much different from the last one.

  • its a baby accord

  • I test drove this car last week. I'm still glad that I've bought CR-Z. The dashboard and interior is so much nicer than the Civic. 1st and 2nd gear ratios are the same on both cars. Civic has a 4.29 FD and CR-Z has a 4.11 FD. However, Civic still feels slower. It doesn't handle corner well. The Civic wins on ride quality. It's a decent highway cruiser.

  • Civic coupe>--------sedan

  • fguly

  • 2012 honda civic.....COUPE!!!

  • the new civics look like big boats, nothing will beat a classic honda

  • Sorry guys, I think the new Civics (both sedan and coupe) are huge disappointment.

I personally DO NOT like the new Civic AT ALL!!!! I used to want a Civic when I was in high school.

There are much better options in the segment nowadays.

  • I have known a few older folks (50+) that own this Civic because the big and easy to read digital Speedometer. It helps them SEE!

  • Nice video but we need more car and less faces

  • Last gen was better especially 09-11

  • all its competition is not worthy

  • Kia Forte Koup looks better. Fact.

  • @MrSHIZZLE4u Kia forte Coupe is shit, Fact.

  • @MrSHIZZLE4u Hondas are reliable, Kias are not. Fact.

  • @Mrboomx how would you know?

  • Honda has cheapened this car slowly over the years. Sorry but it is no longer the class leader in the C segment

  • why would anybody buy the sedan one, its so ugly

  • @RayzaBlayz i know! sedans suck really

  • @RayzaBlayz HAhAH true true....

  • @yynotnnh I agree, well most Japanese cars for that matter American cars are seriously lacking nowadays, and European is to expensive to maintain

  • This or Accord?

  • @supahhfreak accord

  • I enjoyed this review more then most on youtube. Its simple and honest. I like your thoughts on why a 5 speed this year. Makes sense. I bought a 2012 Sedan and am loving it. For all of the nah sayers, go test drive one. Heck drive a 2011 then a 2012 and feel the difference for yourself.

  • Hey guys, great vid ... are you going to be reviewing the si in the future?

  • @yynotnnh in what world is honda the best?

  • This car could have been so much more, way to underwhelm your fans Honda!

  • Talk about a couple of Honda pushers...

  • This thing looks like a turd. Honda styling sucks lately.

  • I'm considering this for my first car..what do you guys think? My parents really only want me to get a honda..and I'm fine with any of the coupes including the crz..which one is the best choice?

  • @TehInterceptorMonkey You'd be crazy not to get this car. It would be an absolute stellar first car. Believe me, I own it. Don't get the CR-Z. It's gimp and you'll regret getting a 2 seater.

  • @jambi1483 Yeah that's what I thought...I'm either getting this or the honda accord coupe..look forward to it xP

  • mothing comparable in this segement

  • It does better than okay.. its like 30-40 mpg.

  • Guys in about 1-2 years from now. I will have to buy a car for my job since I will be traveling a lot.

I really want something with good Gas mileage, and reliable. As well just to get in and go.

So far I am thinking Ford Focus 5 door.

Honda Civic 2 door (one you have on this show)

Maybe if they recharge Toyota corolla with new transmission ill consider it.

Help me out. What is a good car to buy? seems all cars have same price range.

  • @NoxNoctisUmbra Roman and I have differing opinions regarding small cars, but we both agree that the Ford Fiesta is very well built. I personally like the Mazda2 (with a manual) and Roman leans towards Honda and the base model VW Golf. Another interesting consideration would be the Fiat 500. We’re doing a video or two on that model in a few weeks. Keep us in the loop and best of luck!

  • @NoxNoctisUmbra I grew up with a 97 Ford Taurus....it was literally Fixed or Repaired Daily. It'd take at least a decade to prove any sort of long-term reliability with Ford products before considering them.

I'd get the Civic coupe...However a month ago I bought 2010 Corolla (price was right). My family owns an 06 Civic. I much prefer the steering of the Civic but the transmissions are not that noticeably different. The Corolla is also smoother and quieter. 32 mpg average for me!

  • The civic is officially the worst in the segment. what is up with honda? 39mpg? why? my 2006 civic is rated 30 city 40 hwy. honda is working backwards.

  • @matrixloader That's ridiculous. In 2008 the EPA revised its MPG ratings for all cars. Yes, in 06 the Civic was 30/40. In 2008, the same vehicle was rated at 25/36 (varied based on trim). So the new 28/39 is at least a 3 mpg gain, and the new Civic has more standard safety features. Honda achieves 39 on the highway without massive upgrades to the powertrain. I saw one of these coupes in the parking lot today and I thought it was simply stunning!

  • @Windgrace sooo much better looking than the previous coupe and the fuel economy this thing gets is awesome

  • Nathan had an old Honda too. I don't remember what it was but it was in a trade blog I think. I like the European Civic and I dont understand why that can't be here. I saw it on Top Gear and fell in love. Thanks for the review and I'm glad Nathan fit!

  • @commiedog How did you know that? Yes, I had a 2nd generation CRX HF that got about 50 mpg. Great car, but not the best in the snow and useless for families.

  • great car improvement in shifting steering body strengh no competion in this segment

  • I can't believe this huge guy fit in the trunk !!! Score for Civic trunk room !

  • Nice review, Nathan! Great looking Civic! Honda has another winner here. What's really interesting is that the new all new Civic gets just as good if not better fuel economy than its competitors who use DI engines and 6 speed automatics. Honda used what works and the Civic is what works...that's all that matters. Everyone I've heard from is exceeding the EPA fuel economy estimates on the all new Civic even without using the ECON button.

  • You know that trunk is good sized, Nathan aint small!

  • @yynotnnh Sorry, but Honda's getting lazy. I mean c'mon, still a 5 speed? Even the Elantra has a 6 speed, and it's not even meant to be sporty. Also the body style is nearly identical. I test drove the 2012 Civic vs the 2011 and I gotta say, I like the 2011 more. Better handling, better steering feel, and the throttle feels like it has more power. I felt like the 2012 was more boring, had worse handling, and worse acceleration. Not good. :(

  • Niceee!!!!

  • boooring!

earlier generations looked MUCH sexier than this crap

  • honda has become so boring relative to current market offerings. they've fallen behind.

  • I like the front end

  • Your heads were touching the ceiling. I hate to go over a big bump and hit my head on the ceiling.

  • WTF is this Honda??

  • Thank you Civic for keeping the bodywork basically identical to my 06 Civic. At the rate Honda is going, my Civic's body style will be new for another 3 years! HAHAHA. A BIG FORGET IT!

  • where is the action?

  • I like how Nathan said Scion tc has 180 hp, and civic has 140 hp.

  • Everyone seems to hate the new Civics. I dunno, I seem to be the only one who likes them. I know they have no clue how to style a car, but they know how to make a bulletproof engine and great transmissions. Thanks for the review!

  • @commiedog I agree!

  • lol spring chicken

  • I know Nathan likes small cars. I think he likes this one. But I can't see why I should consider a car like the Civic coupe when the Scion tc you reviewed in Nevada seems so much better.

  • Well they kinda have say something positive otherwise honda isn't going to be good to them.

  • yeah civic are no more interesting. theyre not small agile you - men cars anymore. and the si is pathetic. i dont know guys why you like it at all. have you driven old ones?

  • great review. wish u did reviews like this with other, more interesting cars.
