It does still work, just not the same way.

in the items_game.txt file (found at steam\steamapps\portal 2\portal2_dlc1\scripts\items). change one of the .mdl lines of

"model_player_per_class" { "ballbot" "models/player/items/ballbot/b­allbot_beanie.mdl" "eggbot" "models/player/items/eggbot/eg­gbot_beanie.mdl"

so that it reads "models/player/chell/player.md­l" Then, in co-op, have you or your partner put on your chell hat. put in the console: "setmodel chell/player/chell", no quotes

@mrbob806 Could you post your items_game.txt somewhere because everytime i try it, it shows a glichy model in the Clothes Area and nothing ingame even when i use the console.

@txdaniel55 If you can see the glitchy chell model in your items menu, your .txt file is modified correctly. put the companion cube beanie (in this case, one will be a glitchy chell) on both of your bots. if the chell appears inside the bot you are currently, you're good. if it's on the bot your partner is playing as, tell them to put their companion cube hat on. look at your partner, and look at yourself through tab. if you see the chell on either, put cheats on, then enter the setmodel command

@DragonTamerUnleashed did you turn cheats on? if not, use the console command, "sv_cheats 1" also, in the .txt file, did you replace, "models/player/items/eggbot/eg­gbot_beanie.mdl" with exactly, "models/player/chell/player.md­l"?

@DragonTamerUnleashed If you replaced the text correctly, saved, opened the game, went into coop, turned cheats on, saw the chell model in-game (either have your partner put the beanie on, or put it on yourself and look through remote view), then entered the setmodel command, it should work. that's all there is to it

they did say the orginal co-op was going to be chell and a new girl but because of the fact co-op may have alot of deaths it was easier to make them bots as to distance the consept of death and respawning from real life so not to freak out co oping children who may get the wrong idea that having a friend instnatly makes you able to respawn
