I have one and yes it's portable but there is no handle. I heard that digital radios sound realy good and that FM sounds like CD quality and AM sounds like FM quality w/ out the static. My AM has static while changing the station and it's certanly not FM quality sound. I love this radio and while most radios don't put me to sleep this one does. The FM is great. I would not buy the one that has an MP3 socket unless you have the real mp3 player it's made for. I tryed my sansa and it's not good.
