I love how all you kids think jason is like my mentor, and he's the masiah of youtube, and the Number one ruler of all reptile keepers. And that he knows absoultely everything about reptiles..

Jason is one of my better friends, we hangout all the time, and actually i just got back home from being with him at the NARBC anaheim show. Jason knows hardly anything about the care of beardies. As far as I'm concerned, jason is a snake guy. He doesn't really keep lizards, or focus his time on them.

i know that sand is bad for them if they eat it but...they live in deserts i'm sure it's ok to have sand in the cage,they sell it at pet stores made just for them,and if you are worried about it you can always use the sand and just use a different cage or what not to feed them in :)

You should of got a wooden tank, because it traps in the heat more and that means you could get like a 60watt light bulb, this will save more electricity and your beardie will feel more safe and in her in closer. Just my opinion.

@dcunited31 some people freak out when you use it but they shouldn't, as long as there is not any large pebbles that the small ones will try to eat. I'm sure they don't love on fake grass or newspaper in the wiled. also sand is less of a fire hazard.

Sand is horrible. It can and will kill reptiles. Keeping beardies on it is definantly worse than keeping a leo on it... You obviously haven't researched much, because Leopard gecko's don't live on sand, they live on rock, and compacted clay, with tiny bits of sand here and there.

I wouldn't use alfalfa or walnut chips or anything like that for beardies as they tend to hold in a lot of moisture. I agree ducjerk1, you're dumb. Calci sand is probably one of the worst choices you can go with to put a beardie on. But I don't agree that you shouldn't use sand for beardies, once they reach about 6 months and older its fine. Its natural also, seeing as they come from desert like areas of Australia. Also, I don't put water in my beardie's tank as they get their hydration from

Dude,you're an idiot. I've guarenteed been keeping reptiles longer than you. First off, sani chips, are digestable. Calci sand IS NOT digestable, when calci sand gets wet it clumps, sort of like cat litter. leading to VERY imediate impaction. to be honest sand shouldn't be used at all for bearded dragons. This is why I didn't mention using sand. This isn't a care video, Its a cage setup video. I now keep my beardies on ceramic floor tile, but you still have no idea what you're talking about...
