listen to the fucking video. UVB/HEAT bulb. Halogen vapor, murcury vapor bulbs are 2 in one smart guy. and That's opinions, do you think Breeders make all their animals "cages look nice" IMO they looked fine. so hop off.
I love how all you kids think jason is like my mentor, and he's the masiah of youtube, and the Number one ruler of all reptile keepers. And that he knows absoultely everything about reptiles..
Jason is one of my better friends, we hangout all the time, and actually i just got back home from being with him at the NARBC anaheim show. Jason knows hardly anything about the care of beardies. As far as I'm concerned, jason is a snake guy. He doesn't really keep lizards, or focus his time on them.
That basking spot seems a little unsteady and it needs to have thicker logs so they don't end up breaking and hurt her self also, for everyone out there using sand, YOUR BEARDED DRAGON IS ON DEATH ROW!
@dylan3245 he uses a Mercury vapor u idiot, and that is a powersun uvb/uva and heat and lighting basking bulb although they are expensive, they are worth every penny! Make sure u listen to his video, he does forget somethings but this video helped me out a year ago!
i know that sand is bad for them if they eat it but...they live in deserts i'm sure it's ok to have sand in the cage, they sell it at pet stores made just for them, and if you are worried about it you can always use the sand and just use a different cage or what not to feed them in :)
@octavian300 - did you just call my mum ignorant? haha nah.. she is. Wish I had your mum, I'm not even aloud a snake in the house! I've only wanted once since I could walk...
You should of got a wooden tank, because it traps in the heat more and that means you could get like a 60watt light bulb, this will save more electricity and your beardie will feel more safe and in her in closer. Just my opinion.
@dcunited31 some people freak out when you use it but they shouldn't, as long as there is not any large pebbles that the small ones will try to eat. I'm sure they don't love on fake grass or newspaper in the wiled. also sand is less of a fire hazard.
hey I'm about 2 do a bearded dragon setup video in a few weeks and I was just wondering if u had any suggestions on what 2 use and what size tank is that
@kla2nick people say it causes impaction but i have kept my leo on sand his whole life i belive in sand because think of it they didnt replacy the sand in the deserts they live in with repti carpet
Sand is horrible. It can and will kill reptiles. Keeping beardies on it is definantly worse than keeping a leo on it... You obviously haven't researched much, because Leopard gecko's don't live on sand, they live on rock, and compacted clay, with tiny bits of sand here and there.
@octavian300 beardies live in the australin out back its all sand its not like they replaced all the sand in the world with repti carpet ohand i know leos live on hard clay i have tried it befor its called excavater clay, but sand is fine my leo is 10 and never had a problem
just get the dimensions of your tank, and go to home depot, find some floor tile, get them cut to dimensions, and its the PERFECT substrate. cheap, easy to clean. Lasts the lifetime of the dragon.
one of the best setups for the price, I am planing on getting a bearded dragon and everything I find is confusing people keep saying different things, but you seem to have the best advice, I bet I could find many things at walmart or the dollar store and make stuff for inside the tank, like a basking spot and a hide spot
@MichelCarroll na get it at the store cuz they like things to be more natural looking. the hamock he made did look natural but i wouldnt make mutch other stuff.
my tank is about half the size of your tank maybe abit bigger is that ok to hold just one bearded dragon for about 10-15 months untill i get a bigger one ?
Is there any lizards that give birth to live youngs like boas and vipers in the snake world? And if some lizard give birth to live youngs will the beardies give birth to live young?
Please don't listen to @x16blazer He's a moron. Night time temperatures should be 65 LOWEST, but prefurably 70-75.... you'd know this if you where doing actuall research, and not relying on youtube for your info.. Its not that hard to google care sheets..
I wouldn't use alfalfa or walnut chips or anything like that for beardies as they tend to hold in a lot of moisture. I agree ducjerk1, you're dumb. Calci sand is probably one of the worst choices you can go with to put a beardie on. But I don't agree that you shouldn't use sand for beardies, once they reach about 6 months and older its fine. Its natural also, seeing as they come from desert like areas of Australia. Also, I don't put water in my beardie's tank as they get their hydration from
the tanks to small the substrate your useing can kill your dragon if he ingested it u shuld use calcium sand n u didnt menchen how u shuldnt use any sand untill the dragons body is 7inches long 4 pepole that watched the stupid video use a paper towl or carpet from a pet store 4 baby dragons mabey ull get it right on the next video
Dude, you're an idiot. I've guarenteed been keeping reptiles longer than you. First off, sani chips, are digestable. Calci sand IS NOT digestable, when calci sand gets wet it clumps, sort of like cat litter. leading to VERY imediate impaction. to be honest sand shouldn't be used at all for bearded dragons. This is why I didn't mention using sand. This isn't a care video, Its a cage setup video. I now keep my beardies on ceramic floor tile, but you still have no idea what you're talking about...
the swidich rules says it need to be one 1 kubik meter for keeping a bearded dragon but in your contrey it maby noot are needed :) but can be nice to get a bigger cage
@skateVtown basically just get a 40 gallon tank, no need to buy a smaller one seeing as though they will grow decently fast and its a waste to get a smaller one then have to get a larger one eventually

Sand clotts up when wet, and it cannot be digested. This can clogg the intestines, leading to death.
