As you folks can see, ZZ Top are messengers. Jesus calls ZZ Top to make all trip arrangements. Better take heed. I hope when I go to Heaven they are there with their words of wisdom. Santa Claus, I've been good. Please leave me 2 tickets and airfare to see ZZ Top and I'll leave a whole tray of fresh cookes with a gallon of milk. Reindeer welcome in my driveway or roof. I'll leave them a snack, too.
One of, if not THE baddest ever blues-rock tunes ever recorded. The perfect marriage of driving rock & traditional blues. Poor a drink, light your smoke, set the stereo for repeat and let yourself float away!
@rrtodd95 The point I was trying to make is that ZZ Top rocks. Big and bad arenas, or small roadhouses. Ain't nobody can out groove that lilly old band from Texas. AC/DC rocks just about as hard.
Zz in essen germany 1980! And people wonder what the solution is to world peace. You got a little ol band from texas singing songs that resonate round the world. Music baby! Music!
Yo Dumb ass they look like a cover band I dont recall them looking like this back in the day. I know ZZTop Ive been covering there toons for years. I just wondered if They did there own stuff. The video looks a bit to crisp to have been taken back in 80.
@Fathertimeless Yo yo bro' or sis, don't ever, ever, ever, ever, say anything bad about being in "a cover band", or any band that plays only covers. etc, Ever. Not unless you wanted to be hated 4 ever by about 99 percent of the musicians jamming at the clubs in your area and their fans. Take it from me I leaened the hard way. Ooooopps.
Please call them ZZ Shit, like most people, because that is what they are, ZZ Shit. The band is called ZZ Shit. They are from Texas, and known as ZZ Shit.

@beeblebronx well man not exactly nothing they all are greatt musicians.i think that they have more full sound than many groups even though they are only 3 guys.
This has to be my favorite by the Top! It never received the radio airplay that it deserved unfortunately. I can live without many of their songs that DID get airplay--Sharp Dressed Man particularly.
@GorgeousRoddyChrome lots of time, mostly. That's like, 5 years of beard growing and grooming lookin' at you right there. If not more. Both Billy and Dusty have the awesome beard of power(tm).
Saw them Syracuse N.Y., they were the opening act for The Average White Band, after hearing ZZ nobody wanted to let them off the stage, All said Average White Band be dammed
@69zenos Why do guys like you post this kind of junk. You Know there is a fairly widely accepted Psychiatric theory that most Homophobes have latent Homosexual tendencies they hate within themselves. Were you aware of that or are you supressing well?
I went to school with Frank and he was my boy friend in JR. high school. He used to carry my books when we walked home together. In those days he looked like Eddie Munster! Of course he played in a band in high school. Doyle Bramhall was also a high school friend of ours.
@sfsTrader, it's a ticket stub, torn in half, instead of a full, perfect ticket. The other warm up band was The Fabulous Thunderbirds, which weren't exactly "fabulous", at the time.
Who remembers watching this live, back in Texas? I do! ZZ Top was the warm up band for The Rolling Stones in the Cotton Bowl, Oct. 31 & Nov. 1, 1981. I still have the ticket hangin' on my garage wall.

This was from the era when ZZ Top was the greatest small venue band in North America.
Tres Hombres and Fandango are easily two of the ten best albums in the history of rock.
rrtodd95 5 months ago
@rrtodd95 WAS? I dare say nobody does it better. AC/DC comes close.
reno145 4 months ago
@reno145 AC/DC doesn't play small venues though. You can see ZZ Top in a 1000 seat club, you won't see AC/DC playing that.
First time I saw them they where playing a night club that held just that number.
Blew my fucking mind.
