  • 11 seconds!!

  • condolianze e' un chiodo....

  • 4 or 6 cilinder?

  • @edugal17 1.6 is 4 cilinder

  • omg wtf

  • rubbish

  • Shit thats slow, my E30 318iS is quicker!

  • @leo328i6 its a 1.8... but still it would be shit slow.

  • @Markyboi1992 that's actually not true, a bmw 116i is a 1.6 liter engine, the newer facefifted model has een 2.0 engine

  • @Locoroco0007 so its slow then...

  • @Markyboi1992 i'm not saying its slow or fast, i have the bmw 116 with the 1.6 liter engine, and it's a fun car to start with, i was just telling its not a 1.8...

  • well...what's the time? cause the camera wasn't pointed at the speedo at any time

  • Putain ca rame :s

  • pegeot with 360 hp with a pegeuot engine??? see how much that lasts :P

  • CUEEEECK

  • Sad...

  • gotta somethin' to peugot?? i got a 306 with 360HP.. Race??

  • My Peugeot 206 does 0-100 in 14 days.

  • @Joystick211 my Punto 1series could beat you... Never arrived at 100 km/h :D

  • @Joystick211 my peugeot 206cc does it in 8 sec ;)

  • my 116i has average consuption of 9,1 l/100km

Car is perfect for my needs. It has great image, extraordinary road grip and handling in combination with low consumption. I traveled through whole Europe with it. All security equipment is in the base model - you can not choose any more additional security equipment in BMW

  • con la mia gp t-jet ti do fuoco!!!che schifo di accellerazione

  • This car is painfully slow. And not just the 0-100. Thats a good part of the story. 80-120 in 4th gear takes 16 seconds, while in ford focus 1.6 (100hp)for example takes 10. Not to mention how uncomfortabe and cramped this car is, and how high the price is. Without strong engine 1 series is a failure. For the the same money that you buy 116i, you can buy golf 6 gti fully equipped which offers everything that bmw does, but with no downsides, and with better interior.

  • Thankyou! Finally someone who sees the downside of BMW and the 1 series.

  • Well i cant say anything else about it. When you drive it, it feels like you have another car attached at the back, its so slow. Minimum engine for this car is 320d or 325i.

  • Omg ur wrong.

  • In which way am i wrong? I presume you havent driven this car. I have, and i know how slow it is. For that money you can buy a much better car.

  • I personally payed ~30k USD for my 116i and I enjoy it very much. The sound system is perfect, especially bass, high speed, flat drive wheels, comfortable interior, comfortable keyless system (no more need to turn on engine, just keep keys in your pocket) and low consumption saves lots of dollars in your pocket ;), you cannot imagine how much petrol I have already saved when I was in a street jams. I am not street racer but I fall in love with that car...

  • I love this car too. ;) AWSUM!

  • Come on guys, there are two type of machines (cars) in the world: BMW and the washing ones :D BMW was, is and will be the best manufacturer of the car!

BWT we drive that car with 180 and it has perfect stability, we did professional test drive in a sharp curves with high speed and it passes all of them (friend of mine is driving teacher). The only disadvantage I think is that you will need to change gear very often when you will need fast speed up (overtaking).

  • Of cause that one has just 1.58l engine (what do you expect? do you think it will be as fast as Mustang GT500?) but that is more than enough to driver fast in city and highways. I never understand the people who used to buy car with 3.0l engine, you will driver faster than 100 (130 in CZ and 100 in DE) just two or three times per month, the rest you will keep 50-60? So you just pay for petrol which you never used ;) just make simple calculation, that 116i uses 4.5 on highways and 6 in city ;)

  • the quickest that car will go is on a lorry to the scrap heap

  • lmao

  • do you have a engine in that or are you pedaling ,i bet i can go faster on a push bike and that goes 0-60mph in 5 mins down hill

  • I don't see the point of a BMW 116i. What's it for?

  • good stereo. But a very expensive way of going slowly,

  • my citroen zx accelerates faster than that thing

  • my 2001 saab 9 3 goes better than that

  • do they make a automatic 116i?

  • Honestly, i get a better result from my standard 2004 Daewoo Lacetti! In fact, i get a great 1.8L engine (Much quicker), heaps of interior space, big boot, it's more reliable than stone and i got it all for half the price of even the most cheapest 1 series.

If BMW want to take on the small car market, they need to stop thinking that people will pay upwards of $30,000 for a HATCHBACK, even if it does have the BMW badge stuck to the front and back. That's all your paying for people... A badge!

  • The 116i has lame performance, like all base model beemers, but a properly sorted chassis and real integrity to its design and build quality. Resale values reflect this.

With a Daewoo, all your paying for is a moving warranty with power windows. Now that's terrible value for money. No wonder they had to start selling them with various GM badges. It's a good distraction from the fact they're an appliance. Resale values reflect this, whatever badge it happens to wear this week.

  • I Agree, Daewoos are mobile shoeboxes. They belong in a scrapheap, they are worth a quarter of the price as soon as you drive out of the showroom.

  • Have you been in a Lacetti? Driven one even? I didn't think so. Sure, Daewoos of old we're quite horrible brown boxes on wheels. I'll happily admit that. But the lacetti is different. It is a brilliant car. FYI, Google the Tosca and Winstorm and i'll bet you couldn't even begin to compare these new cars to Daewoo's of old. As for depreciation, I've only lost approx $5000 since new. Worth a quarter of the price as soon as you drive out of the showroom, my arse.

  • lacetti has nothing that that bmw has...performance:0, stability:0, at 140 km/h your lacetti blows...you don't even have a CD Player or Good Bass...

  • On a flat stretch of road I've easily had it up to 200km/h and it felt as solid as any piece of Nazi transport, just FYI. And it does actually have a 6 disk CD changer as standard. And as for any lack of "good bass", I beg to differ. But as you haven't obviously been in a lacetti, you wouldn't know all this. Goodbye.

  • @ dc6361

This is true for the 116i, but it's also true for most Audis.

  • Could you keep the camera on the speed indicator next time?

  • @guimo87 and the gay music turned off please???

  • it sounds like you have a strong defiance for beamer. maybe you know you will never afford one so you become angry.

    - seriously, a Toyota.

  • Hi, what is your medium fuel consumption?

  • @ totostia : the bordcomputer says 11.1 liters for 100 kilometers - so i think its about 12 liters

  • A very slow car!!!!!!!!!!

  • My Toyota Avensis 1.8 does 0-100 in 8.7.sec, which is faster....

  • i'd still take the beamer.who would choose a toyota over the bmw if they had the money. -_-

  • but this guy here doesn't change the gears too fast...he makes like one second to change a gear. no offence mate.

  • my stock 4.0litre falcon does it in 5.7seconds
