This track sounds to me like the original one butchered and stitched back in a totally random order. It's my least favourite in the Half-Life 2 soundtrack as a whole. I prefer doing remixes the way it's done in Unreal Tournament Series: by preserving the original music theme and adding more depth to it or re-recording it in a different way.
