  • A great intro for one of the best albums ever! I'm 12 years old but i can recognize good music.

  • such a happy tune for such sad lyrics

    LOVE IT!!!!

  • Almost as good as Justin Bieber

  • @DareYouNotToClick1 i wish i could slap you ...lol

  • I wish this song was never ending.

  • listen to the song-dont put your head on my shoulders.very elton johnish.with this album. well ahead of its time. they showed they were more than a beach band.classic stuff.

  • i feel like chocolate

  • I love beach boys!!!

  • :) ..... :(

    <3

  • Such a happy sound! Love it! :)

  • Ah the word limit makes it hard to make a cohesive sentence.

What I am saying is music now-a-days is mediocre because the music companies want to make the most profit per-song, and to do that they follow trends, and create music without having ot pay any real musicians, or singers. It's like McDonalds and how they makes cheap affordable food, that tastes okay. Also not everybody likes social commentary in their music, they like catchy music.

  • best song from pet sounds...

  • hahahaha.... Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true.

  • it's the happiest 2:26 of my life !!!

  • Music will never be the same again. The Beach Boys were icons, not like girls call Justin Bieber an icon. This stuff will never be made again. =(

  • I wish I were 18 in 1966!

  • @Nostalgico80 What?! Living now you have forty-five more years of great music to expose yourself to.

  • Wouldn't It Be Nice if people would stop writing Wouldn't It Nice comments

  • i bought this album like last week its soooo good :)

  • Wouldnt it be nice if if the world was in peace?

  • Wouldn't it be nice if we searched the song at YouTube and found a video with Meryl dancing this? :)

  • Love the U.S posters saying at least the U.S dominates in hip hop music, as they can't touch the U.K in any sort of music department otherwise!

    Hysterical.

  • @SlayerInBlood just my thought ;D

  • Great Album photo :p

  • Wouldn't it be nice to live together? Then we wouldn't have to wait so long..

  • Wouldn't it be nice if people stopped being elitist jackoffs about having different musical tastes?

  • This is what the teens of the day fantasized while in their houses and wanting to be near a beach somewhere now we have music like Sugar Ray's new material, No Doubt, and 311' s song Love Song. Things haven't changed much since then we all want to go the beach no matter what age your are or what era you came from.

  • great song :)

  • God wh9at a great song!!!

  • @joe44850 Joe seriously go back to 1966 and listen you fool!

  • @jaggerwild Hey, take it easy, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't a fan. I was remarking on the fidelity of the recording itself, which sounds like it is multi-generational and heavily bounced, thus resulting in a louder "hiss" than I recall from hearing it originally. My remark was that perhaps more attention could have been appropriated to both balance and compression then it's possible there wouldn't be as much hiss.

By the way, I'd love to go back to 1966.

  • Too bad Geoff Emerick didn't engineer Pet Sounds...I don't remember it being this noisy.

  • FUCKING LEGENDS!

  • I finally heard the ending of Caroline, No with the unexpected playout seemingly unrelated to the main part of the song. The Beatles Strawberry Fields Forever (one of their best) has the same type of unrelated coda. You can really see how The Beatles used Pet Sounds to formulate the Sgt. Pepper sessions.

  • when I am sad, the beach Boys cheer me up stoned or sober!!!

  • Oh the UK., are so much better than than the USA when it comes to music. It is embarrassing.

  • @5StarWullie hmmmm... i'm sure chuck berry, the beach boys, buddy holly, the beastie boys, the ramones, jimi hendrix, bruce springsteen, tu pac, nirvana, tom waits, pearl jam, public enemy, rage against the machine, nine inch nails, and bob dylan would have something to say about it.

    and im not american

but british music does kick ass too

  • @07foxmulder Don`t forget the Doors!!!

  • @07foxmulder Did you really throw The Beastie Boys in there????????? Oh boy....

  • @DanLetts97 yeah, they're one of the most influential and important hip hop groups of all time. they revolutionized rap and are still putting out quality albums after 30 years. take a listen to pauls boutique and ill communication. if you still don't like the beastie boys after that, then your taste in music is laughable.

  • @07foxmulder I actually like them, and I own Pauls Boutique. I have an issue with you lumping them in with some of the greatest artists of all time, now that's laughable!

  • @5StarWullie without the USA there wouldn't really be the modern music dumbass!

  • @MyGodzilla99 : USA has nothing to do with my love for African music, South American native music or Chinese traditional music. Sure USA is fantastic for Rock (UK trumps US here) and Hip-Hop, but music is so much further and beyond whatever you consider "modern" music.

  • @PredatorFilmsInc the blues from the south started the whole rock and roll movement, now if you'll excuse me, i'll be sipping on my tea and eating crumpets while listening to my beatles album...

  • @MyGodzilla99 : Um what? it doesn't matter who started the rock and roll movement, UK has, overall, the best artists who fall under the "rock" umbrella, that's not to take credit away from brilliant US artists such as The Doors, Jimi Hendrix etc. but the UK has The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, David Bowie etc. But that's only rock, as I said, the US dominates in Hip-Hop. But again, music is much further beyond the mainstream genres we hear of.

  • @PredatorFilmsInc

You didn't even mention Electric Light Orchestra for the UK, haha :D

Love that band. But no, I think you're a little wrong. Beach boys were big in the UK, Elvis, Marvin Berry.

Hell, we don't have the big names like the beatles or the Stones, but hell, we were really close to being tied.

  • Timeless....amazing....beautiful....fun....happy....AWESOME!!!!

  • As a song writer for over 40 years with 100s of copyright material, I still feel this may be the best pop 3 min hit song ever composed........and the arrangment is incredible.............

  • Wouldn't it be nice if Dennis and Carl Wilson were still with us? RIP...

  • Pet Sounds greatest album of all time!

  • Wouldn't it be nice if Justin Bieber stopped making music?

  • @pzman84 you know, the more you talk about him, the more power you're giving him???

  • It would be nice if all the bad music disappeared along

with the top 2 comments, who are annoying as fuck.

    Good Day Everyone!

  • @pzman84 Lol

  • @pzman84 i've never really considered what he does to be "music" as such lol

  • @pzman84 Wouldn't it be nice if you shut the fuck up about Justin Bieber already?

  • @pzman84 it would be nice if he wasn't born at all

  • @pzman84

I hate to state the obvious but that would require that he's capable of WRITING music to begin with...

  • @pzman84 He can't stop making music...... He never made any to begin with!

  • @pzman84 He doesn't.

  • @pzman84 He was making music ?

  • @pzman84 Stop going on about Justin Beiber. It's not funny or clever. just wan to listen to the Beach Boys without thousands of Beiber jokes.

  • @MrNinjaSpartan *cough*jbfan*cough*

  • @catsontheinternet nope. I just don't see why every comment section on every music related video on youtube has to be plastered with shitty JB jokes. They're not funny... at all. I just want to listen to the Beach Boys, how come every time i look down at the comment section i have to see another JB joke? probably made by a 12 year old snot nosed kid who feels like a special little snowflake just because they listen to "older" music.

    I don't give a fuck about JB.

  • @MrNinjaSpartan PAHA

  • @pzman84 The problem is not that he does the music. The problem is the people that buy it, hear it and support it.

  • 21 Deaf People are bummed they can't hear this

  • Dennis Wilson isn't feeding an animal, although he clearly thinks he is.

  • You know...this is just apples and oranges, kids. You weren't there! Bring in Motown and go wax your car down. Your dad was out with the backyard grill and we had ourselves some music- and cars! It was one fantastic-ass time! I feel sorry for all your limp-ass wanna-be-in-the-time posters! It's over! Beach Boys v. Beatles....different shit! I'm an American.....I'll go with the Beach Boys ( and Temps).....

  • stop talking about the beatles, it's annoying as hell

  • Wilson was extremely influenced by Rubber Soul when he was writing the songs for this album, and was inspired to write the best rock album. McCartney was hugely influenced by Pet Sounds when him and Lennon were writing Sgt. Pepper!!

  • @skrattkantarellen i would also say that the beatles were influence by the beach boy when they did back in the ussr.

  • @SunshineSuperman0999 Actually when the Beatles did Back In The USSR ( high falsetto vocals ) it was as a tribute to the Beach Boys , not like the Beatles had to copy anybody, but out of respect , the same respect that Brian Wilson and other BB members had for them ...art sometimes copys art

  • @SunshineSuperman0999

Different to being inspired, Paul wrote 'Back in The USSR' as a tribute, directly to the Beach Boys.

  • congratulations for 45 years!

  • These days you can go to a "concert" and not see a musician on stage the entire time. Brian Wilson is a musical wizard.

  • Pet Sounds was the Beach Boys' Sgt. Pepper. It was just all good!

  • @pbanta62 Smile was the Beach Boys Sgt Pepper :(

  • @pbanta62 Pet Sounds was just Pet sounds, an amazing album. It was't Sgt. Pepper.

  • @pbanta62

Actually, it was the Beach Boys' Rubber Soul. Sgt Pepper was The Beatles' Pet Sounds.

  • youthful optimism in a song

  • This is one of those songs that transcends a genre. A classic in every sense.

  • gotta admit the baby boomers really did make the best music.

  • @Mrfunnybutt hell yea! they thought for themselves that is why. instead of these brain dead libs or cons

  • Wouldn't it be nice if another "Beach Boys" or "Beatles" came to fame in the next few years?

  • @Darkshots6692 The new beatles or beach boys are MGMT . Tell me what you think of them ;) watch?v=ddoCrzzz1rM

  • @Darkshots6692 You mean Olivia Tremor Control?

  • @Darkshots6692 Amen my brother. Though I think Liverpuddlian mop top kids with high trousers are out of supply (which sucks). I don't know if another band like the from the 60s can happen again. To have another beatles you'd need a musically talented revolutionary group of people, and they'd need to be stunning like the beatles were. Today with auto-tune and the sampling of instrumentals musicians only get famous making everything as mind controlling as possible, which makes mediocre music

  • @GouledXD i suggest you stop gloryifing the 60's so much and enjoy now, yes there was great music then but if actully look around, there is some great non-autotuned (I know you nonconformists hate autotone) music now

  • @ranmore30 I am so non-conformist that I will not conform to non-conformist rules like not conforming or taking advice. So I will take your advice and stop glorifying the 60s because I am such a non-conformist but now I won't even conform to my own hand written text.

Well then. In the 60s everyone owned a pet dinosaur named Ralf, and that's how they got to work, and no one abused the planet, and everyone was on something or another. I wish I could live in the 60s. (note bad comedic sarcasm)

  • @GouledXD touché... touché

  • @Darkshots6692 Check out Likely Lads York. There is still hope!

  • ♫♪♫♫♫♫♫♫♫...................♥

  • this album is going to be ahnging up in a museum one day when our civilization ends

  • I put this song in a graduation slideshow. Works perfectly.

  • OMG....thanks...I had this album, cover and all.... sounds just like it did the first time!

    Love!

  • the most perfectly recorded song i have ever heard

    just beautiful.

    ;_;

  • @jerzy862 Amen. It's a masterpiece. I can't listen to it without crying, it's just that beautiful to me.

  • classic!

  • Whatever Cd player I buy it just never seems to play The Beach Boys loud enough.

  • the ONLY song that can bring me to tears

  • is this mono or stereo??

  • @neonpao I think it's Stereo. The Mono version of this album sounds much better.

  • @ifhgsfj ik this is dumb, but are the mono and stereo recordings separate recordings?

  • they should make an "across the universe" type movie based on beach boys music that would be awesome!

  • whenever i hear this song i think of summer , the beach warm weather and put on shorts and run outside still dreaming only to relize im freezing and in a foot of snow.. i hate canada

  • @DerrenBrown100 Justin Bieber made 20 accounts and pressed dislike on each of them, but in Soviet Russia, videos dislike accounts. Except for Chuck Norris' account, which is never disliked. Thumbs up if you agree. Btw, did Mike Love died, and is the album cover ok?

  • I HAVE THE 1000th ''LIKE'' LOL ^^

  • Bittersweet and beautiful.

  • : D!!!!

  • We're missing a few commandments......one of the main ones I'm noticing is "Thou shall love the great music, or thou shall keep thy fucking mouth shut."

  • Wouldn't It Be Nice if music was this good again?

  • @SlayerInBlood but it is!! music is subjective! lady gaga and justin bieber are good to different people!!! ***sarcasm***

  • @iceseekers why is that sarcasm? its absolutely true.

  • @WaxedLegs because that is the only argument used to defend Generic pop music.

  • @SlayerInBlood I think music is just as good today but it would be nice if the people who did make high quality music were actually famous.

  • @SlayerInBlood ever heard of animal collective?

  • @pastorgas30 this everytime

  • @SlayerInBlood yup it would be very very nice

  • The American Beatles there Jesus and The Beatles are god and were all there deciples

  • 50 first dates

  • Wouldn't it be nice indeed.

  • So many giant squids of anger...geez. Anyways, right now I am listening to this because I am learning about Brian WIlson and the Beach Boys in my Rock and Roll history class. He made this album to be the 'best rock and roll album ever', and it inspired the Beatles to make Sgt. Pepper.

  • @FirstmateRouge Sounds like you go to a pretty cool school !! Visited your channel page. Love your tribute to John Lennon. To quote Mackenzie Phillips in AMERICAN GRAFFITI, "Don't you think the Beach Boys are boss?" Hello to a fellow Beach Boys fan !!

  • @fab4fan4ever64 Thanks for the visit to my channel! I'm glad you like the JL tribute! And yes, Beach Boys are boss!

  • It should be "Thou shalt not..." not "Thou shall not".

  • @KidBornInWrongYear so true!

  • que gran cancion!!!!!!!

  • I suffer from depression. I put this song on when Im feeling down, some asshole at my job mentioned he heard that I carved a word into my arm, so I put this song on to try and make me forget about it.

  • One of the greatest songs ever written and recorded. Genius.

  • @KidBornInWrongYear one stupid comment after another.. i look forward to your next comment.

  • @KidBornInWrongYear guess who cares. nobody.

  • For some reason, this song makes me sad...

Whatever I did to let you down, I'm sorry Ashley... I wish I could've told you how I really felt, instead of saying it in a God damn youtube comment ... I miss you...

  • @ambush1242 I FUCKING LOVE YOU.

  • @ambush1242 i now, but it feels kind of necessary don't you think? i mean, those things really need to stop. as for more important things, brian wilson's for me, what gershwin was for him, not an advertising but i made a song and i uploaded it, wonderful if someone hear it

  • @ambush1242 Haha more like what kind of PERSON in general...

  • @ambush1242 I know, that'd for fans of bullshit gay metal crap like ac/dc or judas priest

  • WOULDNT IT BE NICE :)

  • el mejor

  • yes wouldn't it be nice, yes yes yes yes...........Thank you Jesus

  • wouldn't it be nice if music was still this layered and orchastrated

  • Wouldn't it be nice if you had a replay button? 0:00 :O How do you make one of those button thingyssss.

  • I'm a teenager, but I love the Beach Boys. There are some things that NEVER get old.

  • @panchelbel007 DIE.... just kidding :P

  • @panchelbel007 Fancy teenager huh? How much other stuff have you listened to from this decade and earlier?

  • @delaythepickup - Frank Sinatra is my absolute favorite. Nat King Cole. Bobby Vinton. Patsy Cline. Paul Anka. The Supremes. Tom Jones. Dionne Warwick. And a few songs from some others. :) I don't listen to much from my own generation.

  • @delaythepickup - And classical music. ^.^

  • How about thou shall ignore haters and just enjoy.

  • I've listened to bits and pieces of Pet Sounds over the years but this weekend is the first time I listened to the entire album. Now I know what all the fuss was about. It's a fabulous piece of art! Definitely one of the best albums I've ever heard~

    -Dr. Detoxxx

  • Wouldn't it be nice if my computer wasn't a piece of shit and loaded more than five fucking seconds of a video at a time?

  • Wouldn't it nice if it was longer?

  • One of the greatest albums. Ever. Period. End Of Story. :)

  • amen

  • Comment removed

  • i have 50 first dates

  • they say its the first concept album. I love this album, but could someone please tell me what the concept of this album is?

  • This song was very successful in the U.S Peaking at #3 in the charts and #2 in the UK. Such a beautiful album Pet Sounds is, but this song is particularly lovely :)

  • @ddr122

I've the Pet sounds album on vinyl coming in the post...any choice tracks?

  • So nice music. Love 60`s sound

  • As far as sound quality is concerned, this song in stereo is sonically ahead of it's time. It still gives me chills when its played on a quality sound system. As far as the song itself is concerned, it is both equal in its beauty and brilliance. Period.

  • @johnowensjr1234. Well said - agree entirely.

  • The trailer for "American Psycho" changed how I see this song. lol

  • This is Paul McCartney and Elton John's favorite album for a good reason.

  • Asian brides so sexy **busizz4me.info**

  • 17 people are cunts

  • @Bcool2Dmax More like 17 people are rational critics and recognize the beach boys for what they are - mentally ill, drug addled psychopaths who got in on the ground floor to an audience eager for something, or anything new. Didnt have to be good, only new. I would call the Beach-Boys music, naive shit, played to morons.

  • @daveplimmer your one off those cunts.

  • @daveplimmer and what do you have against people who take drugs its obvious your mother was on them pregnant with u

  • @Bcool2Dmax People that take drugs should be put in camps and put thru gas chambers, then incinerated.

  • @daveplimmer yea so put your ma in there and sure why not lets put you in there because well your such a cunt

  • @daveplimmer You obviously know nothing of rock and roll history.

  • @homesplat Oops. Nothing against the beach boys. They are indeed great musicians. I am engaged in a trolling war against Bcool2Dmax. I will direct my comments at him rather than his interests in the future. Cheers.
