  • Hi Brian i noticed my engine started misfiring the other day.Today it got worse and the check engine light flashed . Do you think a tune up will fix that ?(im hoping its a bad plug or wire? ) im doing it in the morning, thanks for this informative Subaru videos !!!

  • @pinzgauernorcal You bet- a flashing check engine light means you have a misfire. You want to pull the codes and see what's up. If all you get is a P0300 or maybe a P0171 it could be a MAF or vacuum leak etc. If you get specific P030X codes a tune up will likely correct it.

  • @briansmobile1 thank you so much for that info im going to go through it in the morning great videos by the way !!

  • @pinzgauernorcal You're welcome- and thanks!

  • @briansmobile1 worked great thank you problem solved !!!

  • @pinzgauernorcal You're welcome- thanks for the feedback!

  • @jboydmv90 Most of the time that happens it's half because they were siezed in there and the threads rip out with the old plug. It CAN happen from over tightening, but you'd have to be drunk and showing off your muscles with women present to rip them out on tightening. Sounds fun enough doesn't it? Any way- you'll probably be OK.

  • @briansmobile1 LOL! Thanks man!

  • @jboydmv90 sure

  • I went in from the top, took off air cleaner assy and wiper reservoir assy, used a bunch of universals and extension bars and got the plugs out and back in. Took a while, but it worked (plus I don't have a creeper). Thanks for the Subie vids!

  • @doggybagit Way to get it done! You're welcome. Some Subaru motors have the plug tubes angled upward and have to be done from above.

  • I changed mine when I had the engine pulled, way easier! Great video as usual Brian.

  • @Flaheat I should have, but didn't. Thanks

  • how about gloves? when I'm working on the cars I get so greasy and dirty then I have to go inside and take care of my kids with said hands! its not good. I of course wash my hands but as you may well know that doesn't do much. but the gloves I get rip rite away! grrr so frustrating.

  • @prodriver1 Most gloves come 100 per box. Many are available in nitrile- these I know NOT to buy. You want latex that are 50 per box. They will often last two days or more. I got four boxes of these black nitrile 100 per box gloves for free to demo..... they are worth about what I paid.

  • Damn...I need a Subaru....my s10 is a biotch to work on compared to this!

  • @Halljand I converted to subaru years ago and have never looked back:)

  • Thanks for all the vids bud! Keep em coming, I know diesel but have much to learn in the gasser world!

  • @PWRSTR0KER2008 You bet. - I should have asked you before ordering my chip setup for my truck! It's an Edge Juice w. attitude and CTS display. Good? Bad? It comes in this week.

  • mustache cam

  • @ToCoMi Less effective, but good for a laugh!

  • Just take off the valve cover and you'll have all the room you need and be able to click the wrench on.

  • @bhstone1 You're right! And apparently you're pretty hard core too! I avoid removing them because of time, mess, and risk for creating leaks. You're a better man than me on that one.
