The coffee cake tasted like dust....ohhh wait that was the computer screen that I licked! lol Oh my goodness does that look scrummy good. Can't wait to try. Btw Betty you look so beautiful in your video, Love the curled hair.
I saw him at the very begining in the bloopers vidio that you made for Halloween.
As I recall, he looked like he was trying to get Carter to play with him, then Carter noticed you (or was that Rick?) filming him, and said "No! NOOOO!", jumped up, and ran off.
Poor Remy looked a bit startled; and trotted off in the opposite direction.
@SinnFein4ever Oh, yes! Carter was just quietly playing with a puzzle and looked up and was startled by the camera. He was in no mood for having his picture taken!
I'd forgotten the dog cookie vidio that you made with Remy in Febuary.
I've never baked anything for our dog's birthday (maybe I should).
Instead, I go to a local dog-boarding place where we somtimes board her, and buy a big dog cake for her there.
They're shaped like dogbones, and filled with peanut butter, then covered with caorob-frosting (like chocolate, only they're not poisionous to dogs), and it says "Happy birthday!" in blueberry frosting on top.
Thanks Betty. They turned out quite well. I maybe could have let them bake a tad longer to get more of that muffin effect, but 25 minutes seemed to do the trick. I posted your video on my fb page.
@MissJasperHale18 I have never used this recipe for muffins--but it would be really good! I would just go ahead a put the muffins in the oven and check them every few minutes. When they begin to look don, test with a toothpick to see if it comes out clean. If it does, the muffins are done.
did you put any coffee in it or did I miss something? the title says coffee cake but i honestly dont recall the mention of coffee. well Ill watch it again. I love your vids anyways ^^
@Kurasutaru No, there is no coffee in the cake. A "coffee cake" is cake that is eaten, accompanied by coffee to drink. It is generally a sweet breakfast cake.
@bettyskitchen thanks!! every coffee ake ive heard of had coffee you should try it tastes good unless you dont like coffee or your kids will be eating it too ^^
Just love your videos! You explain everything so well, and have such a nice presentation at the end. I wish I knew your secret for cooking like that and remaining so thin! I don't have a tube pan. I know it wouldn't look as pretty, but could this coffee cake be made in a square pan instead? I have a bundt pan, but am afraid it might tend to stick in that.
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. I had been looking for a good coffee cake recipe, and I found it! Ive made this cake sooo many times for my family and we love it:)
Excellent job! The newer tube pans have a removable bottom so you can just pop it out. Also, lining the bottom of the pan with parchment paper can help guarantee a no-stick cake. :) PS: you're looking good!
Thanks for your generous compliments! It's great that you're making a butter pecan cake for your dad! I assume you are making it from a mix, and that you have plans for the icing. There's not much I can think of other than decorating the top in some special way with pecans or pecan pieces. It already sounds delicious! (I'm sorry I don't have more tips on this particular topic!) Thanks so much for viewing my videos and sending along a question!
Hi Betty. I made this with my 9 yr old son last night. I am new to baking and I'm the person who can burn water. Well, your directions were awesome. The cake was delicious! My daughters had a great surprise this morning!
You are magnificent, Betty. I went from eat out or order in to cook delicious home cooked meals, thanks to you. Sending you sincerely greetings & lots of love
Yummmmm......AWESOME coffee cake, we all gonna try this recipe of yours Betty, you may think i'm exaggeratin' but i'm pretty sure we could smell it via the pc monitor! 5 stars for ya Betty and keep up the AWESOME vids! = )
hi betty! this looks deliious - and the ingredients are in my cupboard ...don't need to run out and buy anything which is great. btw, you look great in this vid. hope all is well with you :)
Thanks for your compliments! That's great that you have the ingredients--one nice thing about this recipe! And the taste is superb! Thanks for commenting!
You look so nice in this vid but not like u dont in other vids and i hav two questions do u dress to impress just for these youtube videos and also on the info box that tells u what the video is about y does it say "betty" will show ..... Y dont u say i will show ... And also who controos ur camera
Thanks for your compliments! 1) I dress just like I normally do--in my style, You probably have noticed the kind of outfits are all pretty much the same--layered top and jeans or slacks and athletic shoes.2) I started doing this on a whim--posting nachos for the Super Bowl. Since that was popular, I did a few more, and it just grew from there. I guess I started referring to myself as Betty, and just kept following that pattern. (Sometime I do say "I.") My husband usually does camera. Thanks!-B
Thanks! Actually, I do have a KitchenAid mixer. I find it easier to use a hand mixer for the videos, and think it's more likely that my audience would have a hand mixer. But, I'll get out the KitchenAid, sometime! Thanks for your sweet comment!
That looks delicious Betty! And it's great that all of the ingredients are easily found around the house so I won't have any shopping to do ;) Thanks for the recipe! :)
I hope you do! I has ingredients that are pretty easy to have on hand--so maybe not too much grocery shopping! It tastes very good! Thanks for your nice comment!
Another great recipe for me to make and take to the office! I do agree with everyone that your hair looks very lovely, but, hairstyle or no hairstyle--keep the videos coming! Don't make us wait for the hair and makeup department :)
That's great! I started to mention in the video that the ingredients are staples that you may normally keep in the kitchen, and then I got side-tracked (like I do, a lot!). Thanks for your lovely comment!

I have a coffee cake recipe which calls for the use of a "springform pan" (which I'd never heard of before).
I looked it up on the net, then decided to see what YOU use, before going through all the trouble of buying myself one.
Fourtunatly, I DO have a tube pan.
Thanks, Betty!
SinnFein4ever 1 year ago
@SinnFein4ever A tube pan is fine for coffee cake. To see the use of a springform pan, just search for cheesecake.

(Although Remy would probbabbly scarf them down if you did .)
;)

@SinnFein4ever Cat treats are something that I have never made. I'm sure Remy would think they were for him if I made some!

I haven't seen him in any of your vidios since Halloween.
Is he alright?

By the way, do you celebrate Remy's birthdays?
