So if you look at those figures you see that it can't be compared to a R8 V10!

When Audi builds a 4 seater coupe thats faster than the M3 CSL you tell me!

@zuuman1 LOL Some reviewers thought the RS4 is a better car. this lacks character. And besides, the M3 is still faster. BMW just released the Competition Package to keep one step ahead of the "competition" if you even can call it that.

Automakers have tried to make an M3 killer but no one has actually succeded. You can probably say that about any BMW. It´s the benchmark in every class BMW has a car in.

@zuuman1 yes, i only wish i wrote the review in the june issue of EVO magazine. You obviously have NO idea how cars, work. the s4 has 325lb ft of torque avalible from 2000 rpm, the RS5 with is Mighty V8 has only 317lb ft avalible from 4000 rpm. I never even mentioned a BMW so how can i be a fanboy?

@Aliasify first of all torque does not mean everything, sure it is important but hp is just as important, second evo magazine is a piece of shit. torque does not mean acceleration so you know shit all about cars, sure it is important but it has nothing to do with speed it is a twisting force, which helps you move weight! That is what sucks about bmw, sure they are fast but they have no torque, the v8 twin turbo is going to be much faster than a v6 supercharged dumb ass, s4 and rs5 are same size

@zuuman1 Torque determines how fast a car can accelarate. Horsepower is work done over time. Rally ccars for example normally have less then 200bhp but twice as much torque for fast accelration but low top speed.

@Aliasify torque is a twisting force, pick up trucks for example have shit loads of torque in order to haul a boat for example, and to move the large amount of weight, But torque does not do much for acceleration, the rs5 is faster acceleration than the s4 but has 8 less lbft of torque, the m3 only has 300lbft but would beat the s4 so really the torque does not do much for acceleration, torque helps you get out of the snow if you are stuck, the rs5 0-60 is 4.3 sec and the s4 is 5.1 sec so rs5>s4

@Aliasify sorry the m3 has 295 lbft of torque so really torque does not help much on acceleration!! The gear ratio is what affects the acceleration, if you have loads of torque and a shitty gear ratio then you are going nowhere fast but with small amount of torque with good gear ratio then you are ok!! Premium would be shit load of torque with a good ratio, that is why the rs5 is faster than s4 even though it has less torque, the rs5 is faster than m3 because it has more torque and better ratio

@zuuman1 The Audi Quattro is only a concept and it isn't even in production. And I was comparing a audi R8 V8 not a R8 v10!

Let me explain it to you: The Audi R8 is a 2 seater sportscar, which has 60hp more, 60Nm more, 2 more cylinders, 1.0L bigger engine, 9bhp/ton bigger power to weight ratio than the M3 CSL. On the other hand the M3 CSL is a 4 seater coupe with a big boot, you can go to the shops with it and could lap the Nurburgring 14 seconds faster than R8! So which has better engineering?

I argue the same thing when people think a Veyron is a better engineered car than a Mclaren F1. 20 years old, 2 liters less in capacity, four less cylinders, no turbos, more luggage space and seats one more person and still manages 391km/h, won lemans on it's first outing and will lap any track that isn't a top speed ring faster than the Veyron... But some people don't appreciate real engineering which disappoints me as an engineering student. :)

Best m3??? thats crazy, it is a CSL yes, it's got carbon fibre roof yes, sounds nice bloody hell yeah, but best m3 not a chance in hell, that ACOLADE is for the true no holds barred e30 m3 a thoroughbred homologation special that won races like no other BMW before or since. Now that is a truely fantastic car to behold.
