I've been making beats for about 5 years now.

There is ALOT of software you can use (Reason, FL Studio, etc.) but I would suggest you pick up an "instrument" first. There are a billion beat makers, and often times (even myself at one time) I see guys trying to "make music" when they can't even "make music"

Meaning, guys don't know when notes are wrong. Or the significance of chords or things like that. If you already know an isntrument....go for FL Studio or Reason for software...
