  • How much did you study for organic chemistry you ask? WELLL 73 VIDEOS...PRECISELY.

  • please please please! about 50% of your lesson time is spent drawing. draw the lesson first and you will double your memory and make fewer misteaks.

  • awesome thank you

  • sallll.....salll....saalllll....saallll......saaalllllllllll............u kno something.....naahh u know a looot :O

  • I am taking organic chemistry class next week even though I never took regular chemistry!!! You saving my ass now!

  • this is not really hard i take this in class and it is easy but u have to concentrate in class and it would be really really really easy just saying :) :D

  • i am only here for the colours lol

  • miracle worker much..? lol

  • four dislikes?? O.o

  • @Shintahavan Around 80% of all the dislikes are from religious people. (Go figure.)

  • you inspire me to be a teacher..

  • LOVE YOU KHAN! LOVE YOU! You saved my grades!

  • @IceCold720 YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA god did :)

  • Thank you very much. This is a HUGE help!!

  • Should do a Trasition Metal section !!

  • why is this video so quiet?

  • Hey,

Is it right to say it is C3H8?

(being 3 and 8 number of atoms)

  • @GreenCakeLazer Yes you can say that. But for organic chemistry, you want to show how the carbon group bonding. Like this. CH3CH2CH3 which is still C3H8.

  • @GreenCakeLazer No, not for molecular structure.

  • amazing

  • Good job on your video I liked it very much!

  • Obrigado por postar estas video-aulas tão boas, agora posso estudar melhor sobre o que eu preciso para passar no vestibular e aprender ingles junto =D

  • you rock...thank u so much for the video!!

  • @thetruth909090 Once again, you started it you incoherent cunt. You tracked me down and started posting on my page. I have no idea who the fuck you are and I really honestly couldn't care less. Sorry that your dad left when you were a baby and that you are a virgin and obviously have a lot of pent up sexual aggression but it's not like that's going to change by going online and being a giant douche bag- those kinds of changes generally occur offline. Good luck sorting it all out

    -Seetrider

  • @thetruth909090 Funny, you commented: "@SeetRider WHO ARE YOU COMMENTING TO?.... YOU NEED TO SUCK A COCK DUDE...", but then decided to remove it - why is that? It seems you have quite a fascination with "sucking cocks" - why do you feel the need to talk about it so much? It's quite odd and a bit disturbing, to be honest. I think you're barking up the wrong tree, bro, that shits not my scene. I think you should find some other Italian faggots to talk about that shit with and leave me alone.

  • @thetruth909090 you're the one who started talking to me, and you're also the one who said you get sucked off by guys- also only a faggot would use this: "(^_^)" in a comment.

    I rest my case.

  • @thetruth909090 Who are you kidding? You aren't happy- otherwise you would be socializing with people in your own country rather than trying to argue with someone halfway across the fucking planet. It's funny how you started all of this by commenting on my page and you're the one who's getting pissed. Why don't you do something productive with your life and learn about the nomenclature of organic chemistry rather than continue foolishly attempting to argue in English with a native speaker.

  • @thetruth909090 lol, u mad? You started it crybaby- stay off my page greaser

  • @thetruth909090 Shut up dude, you should focus on spelling and grammar, first. Also, why are you going through my subs? Are you a stalker?

  • @donttellmethetime Material matter when it comes to the classes themselves? If you mean general chemistry in comparison to organic, then you could say that general chemistry focuses more on equations while organic focuses more on reaction mechanisms of carbon based compounds. There's also inorganic (focuses mostly on transition metals), analytical, and physical chemistry.

  • @donttellmethetime

Organic chem deals with Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen structures primarily. Regular chem deals with chemicals, reactions and the like. Basically, organic chem puts a part of regular under a microscope.

  • simply the best vid....

  • OH MY GOD ORGANIC CHEMISTRY OH MY GOD HOW DID I MISS THIS SECTION OH MY GOD

  • @Khanacademy I was so worried about my knowledge atrophying due to the inconvienence of going back through books and picking out what I need to read what to look at for an upcomming course all in the brief amount of time i have to myself to go back into already taken classes over a number of years. Thank you so much for consoledating all this material and concepts and being so clear. Did you get a Nobel peace prize for this creation yet? you should get one!

  • please add an organic chem play-list on your youtube profile

  • FINALLY!!! YOU'RE DOING ORGO!!! OH THANK FUCKING GOD!!!

  • I just failed my organic chem test and i wished I found this earlier cuz this is soooo helpful you are soo amazing khan!

  • great video but i think the audio on your older video's come much better than these newer ones cause i get more static on the audio in these videos

  • I heard of you on a CNN article, so take this comment as proof to your increasing fame.

    :D

I'm not taking this class, but I do like O-chem.

  • I heard of you on a CNN article, so take this comment as proof to your increasing fame.

    ;)

    I'm not taking thi

  • Fantastic video!

  • Wow! Thanks for the explanation. I will do great in organic with you by my side!!!

  • Sal I love you for finally adding an Organic Chem section.

I would be NOTHING without you.

  • why you do not use his original name Sulman.

  • is there a playlist for organic chemistry?

  • So about the propane configuration: all of the carbons know which hydrogens to pair up with. Is this the strong or weak nuclear force, or is this something different entirely? How is it that this cosmos is so sophisticated? This stuff is really crazy – no wonder why I can’t stop studying the nature of the universe.

  • Wow, this is amazing. How do the various atoms know which electrons to grapple with in its particular molecular configuration? Sorry if my question seems posed in an overly ostentatious format but essentially what I’m asking is – there’s some particular molecule composed of atoms, and the atoms somehow precisely reconcile between which electrons it bonds with? How does it do it? Does it just grapple/ take the electrons closest to it?

  • are you going to make a playlist for this on your site, or youtube?

  • According to Wikipedia the term organic is inherited from the very early middle ages where the theory was: 4 elements and 2 types of matter (organic, non-organic). Organic means containing life-force (from living beings).

So: Why do we still call it Organic Chemistry then? Organic Chemistry doesn't only cover the chemistry of life.

Also, why is methane organic and carbon dioxide inorganic? Both can be found everywhere in our solar system and both play a role in the creation of life.

  • @noxure "Most probably play a role in the creation of life". I have no idea how life was created, but I'm pretty sure those guys have something to do with it.

  • yeesss......than you sooo much....even though i am italian.....i still enjoy watching your videos.....i ll have an exam of organic chemmistry in september....i ll keep watching your videos for the whole summer.....thank you... :-)

  • I'm Hank Hill, and I sell propane and propane accessories.

    Sorry, couldn't help it.

  • Great video...thanks for posting orgo vids...lot of people are gonna be happy because good orgo profs are very rare.

  • Is this chemistry or organic chemistry sal? Are u gonna make a playlist of this?

  • thank you so much for this awesome video it was very helpful

but how come the video quality is not as good in this video?

usually you have it upto 720p, this video quality seems really blurry compared to what you usually put out.

  • @zachem66 YouTube is still processing. Watch it again in 10 or 20 minutes

  • @khanacademy Hey Sal, I'm having trouble viewing the organic chemistry videos in playlist form such that they flow easily from one to the next in order. Could you post a link to the organic chemistry playlist or put it up on your homepage? Your an amazing guy. Seriously.

  • Hey sal, love your stuff sir. Will you be making exercises for organic chemistry and physics like you did for algebra and algebra 2 etc. ?

  • @zachem66 is that(organic chem)all?
