  • You built a 425 Olds just like i've been dreaming it. How high do you rev it to get the power out of it? Did you have to clearance the block (w/the longer rods)?

  • hate to ask what's the mpg? with gas almost $4 a gallon

  • sounds awesome! I want to put a olds 350R or a 455 in my 89 Caprice wagon has a olds 307 in it now with 252,000 miles and still going strong!

  • sweet ride

  • Absolutely love those '70s colonnade coupes, from any GM division. Everything about those vehicles is cool. The thing about them, at the time, was teh smog regulations-choked engines. But drop some proper iron into the engine bay, and damn, you have a fantastic vehicle. Nice Olds, man!

  • I don't know, never dynoed it. Runs consistant 12.30's in the 1/4. No such thing as a 66 455. 68 was the first year for the 455 in Olds. 66 big block would either be a 400 or a 425. 425 can have a different lifter angle and lifter size which can become a real pain in the ass. Make sure you take the thing to an Olds expert or you for sure will be disappointed. Nothing similar to building a Chevy.

  • i found a 66 455 golden rocket and im paying him $400 for the motor, but it has been sitting in his garage for 14 years, but i plan on rebuilding it and im putting it in my 1978 Buick le sabre custom 2dr but what was your HP and TQ?

  • hey my closest track is cordova!(: in illionois right?

  • your neighbors must hate u driving that loud ass beast around lol

  • @guccamain Actually 2 of my neighbors love it. The neighbor to my East used to race at Cordova Dragway in the late 50's with an Olds so he especially appreciates it. My neighbor to my West says I don't start it often enough lol.

  • Yes, sounds very nice.

    Better than my van.

(Writing from midlands, UK. i think you lot are USA.

  • sounds fantastic!!! you have t-tops also or is it purely a racecar?

  • @fabiolas4 It's pretty much just for racing. Since this video was shot it has been converted to E85 and runs a solid 2 tenth's faster in the 1/4 since the conversion. Currently running 12.30's @ 109

  • @rocketw30 very nice! best of luck with it! sounds excellent!

  • Sounds great!

  • that thing sounds mean

  • Love that sound!!!

    5/5+fav

  • she sounds good man keep up the good work

  • Don't you hate it when you want to punch it down the street and some old fart pulls out in front of you.

  • I am building a 68 455 (F block, C heads, and N crank), and am really interested in the long rod 425 combo. Did it go together pretty easy?? And if you don't mind letting me know ,what arias pistons did you use or are they custom? From what Ive read you can use Pontiac 455 pistons with the 1.495 compression height. And also do you know what your static compression is? Thanks and hope to see more vids!

  • I have a 77 that will see a 455 soon so bravo they are a real fun car.

  • there is a stall converter in everycar ever made dummy they just very in size my 76 olds has a 2500 stock. My 69 has a 3500 on a turbo 400 with full manual shift u should see that bastard come out of the hole

  • 3000 stall

  • Seems like you have a Big time Stall in it! what is it 3000-3500?

  • What are you talking about peehaa? That car has no stall converter...

  • Sweet ride man..., what intake/carb you got? New oldsmobile parts are hard to come by.

  • ehh, kinda, there are more than you think now amc parts are hard to find ;)

  • try finding '72 hurst/olds sunroof parts only 277 cars had demmer cut holes in thier roofs. now thats hard to find

  • Sounds like a nice 455 build. It should run nice at the track.

  • run it at the track yet?

  • nice- reminds me of mine, but yous is a performance motor mine was a stock 350 4 barrel

    i loved that car-

  • NO BETTER FEELING A FRESH 455 OLDS. ALL I EVER WANTED TO DO WAS TO FEEL THAT POWER. AND AS SOON AS SOMEONE ON THE STREET LOOKED MY WAY I WOULD BURN TWO BLACK STRIPES UP THE STREET. SMOKE EVERY WERE "well their is one better feeling'

  • thats nice man good luck, quiet, solid, quick

  • dont you hate how they (455s) tear through gas? i know im not to happy with mine (that only applys to my mpg)

  • yea small and big blocks are bad on gas but oh well :) if you cant offord to drive it on the sreet take it to the strip with some racing fuel

  • amen to that i got rid of my big block car and am keeping my small block car strictly for the strip

  • any mods on it?

  • on what my small block car or my big block? both have mods just look at my videos i have videos of both of them
