Actually this version is from their 1995 album called "Tyranny Of Beauty" not from the original "Stratosfear 1976" album . In a interview with Edgar Froese, he said that the reason why they make a new versions of their classic tracks is because the old technology (analogue synthesizers) is not longer relevant and it's impossible to recreate the original tune on live performances with the new digital equipment . This is actually the same reason for Kraftwerk to made their album "The Mix 1991"
I presonally prefer the original first version, as I grew up with that. But I do appreciate how the theme keeps on surviving in different settings. And that is a good thing for TD indeed.
To much hey nonny noo for me.. the kind of c.d you would get in one of those shops that sells model fairies in places like Tenby.. along with josh sticks and shoes made out of turnips.
Stick with the original.. its the future seen from the 1970s.
Not music made for gardening in crushed green velvet
I see where your'e coming from though, but Edgar Froese was "the" first I'd say - to make this kind of music. The sort of muzak that your'e referring to lacks soul and feeling.
Any way what are you doing listening to this eh, must have some interest in the majesty that is the Tangerine. And...and don't mock those who wear shoes made out of turnips! Unless you've tried it yerself you won't know! Makes nice soup after a long days hard work wearing them! Mmmm nice!
Dont you just want to hop in a F-15 and chase the setting sun in full after burner when you here this? Why the hell dont they put this kind of music in flight sims and games?
Although these guys are pretty hot most of the time, I totally agree with the Force Majeure comment, has anyone got a video clip of "through metamorphic rocks" or is it clouds - can't remember, which is my favourite track.
Well, I didn't know that Popo meant that in German. I spelled it PoPo because in the US Po Po is a slang term for the police. Along with 5-o. People often thought I was a police officer because I am clean cut and keep a short hair cut.
Oh hey that's even better - PoPo indeed, but in German that would be, Popo, anyway enough of butts & cops, TD rule! (Even though I must admit, I love 5-0! But only for McGarrett of course...) Peace!
????? it's a recent remix ! not good;the original of 1979 is better !

Not their best. Could be the soundtrack to "Escape from New York," which John Carpenter composed. Still good though.

the original sounded like outer space...this one sounds like a giant green hill with drunk irishmen doing riverdance.

After Rubycon, Stratosfear is my second best loved TD album - but I prefer the original studio version of ethis... in contrast to PoPoNellie...
Do you actually realise, that Popo in German means butt? Unless of course that name was intentional...

this version has clearly ruined the original, turned it "pop"
the original was focused
this version is all over the place
