This was great, even though I'm trying to watch the original scene because (although this is usually looked down upon in theatre) my director had me look for it because I'm playing Shelby in the play version. It's really difficult knowing what a diabetic seizure looks like when you've never had or seen one, let alone portraying one realistically. But anyway, great voice over job!

This scene from "Steel Magnolias" is NOTHING TO JOKE ABOUT! I'm a Type 1 diabetic and I've gone through what Shelby goes through many times. We can actually slip into a coma and die if this isn't handled in time. Whoever made this video obviously has no respect for diabetics. Thank you so much for posting (hope you noted the sarcasm)...

I've actually had really low blood sugar a few times while I was sleeping. Whenever it happens I wind up having seizures and biting the hell out of my tongue. Not fun.

There is obviously no fun being made of diabetes here. The comedic element is of a group of bored guys trying to reenact a scene from a movie full of women. I personally did a voice in this and at no time did we even think about diabetics. This is for laughs. It sucks that you have diabetes and it sucks even more that you use your disease as an excuse to point your finger at others who are just trying to make people laugh. You might not be able to produce glucose but how about a little civility?

@rydogg32 I'm Type 1 and I'll agree a hypoglycemic attack is nothing to laughed at, but I thought you guys were spot on with the voices and I laughed at several places! Just a wee correction though, diabetics don't produce insulin, not glucose. Insulin is the hormone needed to bring the blood sugar glucose down to normal levels.
