read my description, I was trying not to smile but it is too hard because I enjoy dancing and the music too much. This video was originally a bit of a spoof on some of the Turkish dancers I saw...but everyone likes it...it is my least favorite video.

hello, i have to tell you, that you 100% better then turkish dancers!!! i've seen them a lot, they are rather sluty and tasteless but u are more elegant. I liked your 'imitation' though=) i think didem is a big exeption among all turkish dancers, she has her own style and not sluty at all. U should show this video to the so called proffessional dancers in Turkey, maybe they would learn something from you haha=) foe example how to charm your audience without the sloppy movements=)

I've been working on moving with drum solos. Do you have any tips I might use or practice? I'm trying to determined if the hip movements are just variations of shimmies or something more...any pointers might help.

There are a lot more hip movements than shimmies (drops,ups,circles,figure 8s, slides,bumps, etc). You probably should take classes if you really want to learn.

A lot of practice to gain control and flexibility. The isolation of a move is what makes it look bigger also.

Thanks, I was just sort of incorporating what I saw, it took a lot of effort to keep my arms from where I normally hold them when I dance. Different Turkish dancers are different too, so many Russians it was hard to tell who was who...I liked Birgul the best.

If you know who to talk to they will. My tour leader Eva Cernik arranged workshops. I just copied the dancers I saw there. I'm not really a big fan of this style I just made this video to see if I could copy them and make it look cool too. Birgul is very good in my opinion, not much good video of her here.
