@MinorKeyDancing, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just a reminder, though... I don't really suggest using a toothpick, as it's not a great tool for drawing. It works much better for getting food out from between teeth. Heh. I just wanted to show that it's not the tool that makes the drawing, it's the artist. The tool just helps the artists achieve whatever he or she is looking to achieve. That noted, I hope your class gets a kick out of the lesson. Thanks!

The most important things to consider when shading is where the light source is, and the depth that you are trying to represent with the thick and thin lines.

Man... Where were the flaws? You had them covered up well if you did.

at the beginning I thought the hand was too far off, and maybe that might've thrown you off but then the perspective you made it in just brought it to life.

At least the foot not being drawn I thought might've ended up messy, till realizing you weren't going to insert it and it still fit perfectly.

Not 1 line out of place man... especially in toothpick. How hard is it to draw with it?

It's kind of a pain, drawing with a toothpick, and not something I really recommend. I just did it for the novelty of and to show that a person doesn't necessarily need to use a specific tool to draw.
