  • does it make your face look a whole lot better if you put liquid & powder foundation ?

  • Hi thanks for sharing your information. However I think the makeup color you are using is to dark for your complexion. You might want to go a few shades lighter.

  • how does she not see that it doesnt match at allllllll...like it looks really wrong not trying to be rude but u look way better without makeup

  • I'd have to agree with @GLAMAZONinc. Your foundation looks like it may be alot too light for your skin tone. It looks like more of an olive tone.

  • hey, love the tutorials,i wanted to find out what you use for your hair,it looks like the texture is the same as mine

  • ur face looks darker than ur neck

  • wich liquid foundation use in this moment?

  • those people are crazy...the foundation is perfect for your skin. IT OXIDIZES!!!!!

  • i can't believe i've been putting my foundation on wrong this whole time.

  • I have oily skin so my question is the product you use do they clog the skin. It sound like a lot to put on your face. What do you use to clean your face at night?

  • beautiful...very helpful!!!

  • that sounds like an amazing collection!

  • @LipsCouture no I haven't tried Bobbi Brown yet, but I definitely need to!

  • what do you think of using MAR KAY foundation and mineral pressed powder. And what is the essence of using a concealer?

  • man how do you afford all that mac

  • Thanks for the countouring explanation! I had no clue what that was! lol

  • i no dis is a make up tutorial but you have amazin hair

  • you use a CD? you're the first person guru i've seen to ever use it, LOLOL

  • Are You Naturally light skinned ? :D

  • Hello,

Is it better to apply foundation before you do your eyeshadow?

    thanks

  • dont know if its the cam or what but the foundation seems to be to light for ur skin tone it looks a little yellow but it does go on smooth i may have to try

  • @mysexiworld16 that inquiry has already ben addressed.

  • i use the Mineralize Naturale..its not shimmery!

  • You have nice cheekbones and natural contour :)

  • lol it looks like your talking to urself in fast forward! XD

  • Not to be a creep or anything, but you have like, really nice eyelid shape. I mean, makeup looks super nice on them becaus they really put an accented highlight on the crease of the lid and brings out our eyebrows. Which, by the way, are also nice. I hope I made it sound less creepy: XD

  • @zaynahmason not creepy at all. Thanks!

  • hi just took a look at ur vids very informative.i was wondering if u could plz do a vid on concealer. im african american too.. and just near to your complexion and i also hve dark circles around my eyes and i was wondering if u could do a vid using an eye concealer and which concealer is the best that u use?

  • LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. IM 24 AND NEVER WORE ANY TYPE OF MAKE UP. AND IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO APPLY EVERYTHING W/O LOOKING LIKE A CLOWN. UR VIDEOS HAVE HELPED ME SO SO MUCH. YOU'RE LIKE AN ANGEL SENT TO ME WITH UR VIDEOS. I NOT 100% THERE BUT I'M GETTING THERE VERY SLOWLY. THANKS SO MUCH xoxo

  • Don't you blend the blush contour?? it looks too mutck..not natural.. and plus it makes your jaw looks smaler..

Your face is nice and defined.. all that u needed in my opinion was a blush in the apples cheeks and, hight light donw the eyes .. a more natural..

Contournig the face like that, you make a too swollen rare cheeks.. and a very poor jaw..

Pop what you have lees and leaves natural what you have yet done natural, as the cheeks.. slim faces have to pop the jaws Your face is yet nice

  • what is the name of the dark powder (contour).

  • love your tech.

  • Hi, could u please do a vid on how to apply prep+face mac, sp 50.

  • hey there sprinkles. i don't own the mac prep+prime, but Im sure you just rub it into your face with your hands. No special applying technique.

  • great vid, but I feel like ur foundation is too yellow for your tone. Ive been a makeup artist for 11 years and I understand the "I like it " thing that we do sometimes, but I just wanted to tell you. From the outside looking in !

    Keep up the videos!

  • its actually not to yellow, but thanks for watching.

  • @GLAMAZONinc I actaully think it looks good. As an african american i have to saay it is so hard to foundation that match our skin tone. My husband will complain it's too dark , then when u go light ... it's too light. I assume you probally have too mix two foundation to get the right color. But that is expensive.

  • @cattyblue21 Honey, don't be so quick to assume things!......I myself am a Afri-Ameri woman ( and a NC-55 at that), plus (as I said) a makeup artist / nail tech........& right now my fav. foundation is by maybelline. I wear one color and it is priced at $9.....

  • @GLAMAZONinc i think ur completely right

  • Do you have a problem with your foundation rubbing off on people when you give hugs and stuff? I'm trying to figure out how to stop that from happening!

  • @saraahlang2001 r u setting ur foundation?

  • I have th same problem!

  • fIERCE gURL!! yOU ARE GOOD AND YOUR TECHNIQUES ARE FLAWLESS!! I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY THEM ALL.....U R BAD~LOVE U

  • Would the warm light/definitive powder be too dark for nc45 or would it be fine? Thanks

  • Thank you so much for great videos and quite impressive make up techniques. I use quite a bit of MAC but have not been able to truly enjoy the mineralized and more recent range of foundations as the SPF makes me break out. Any suggestions for other foundations? Fashion Fair foundations work but seem a bit "passe" and less exciting. Any suggestions? Thanks. Great JOB!!

  • thank u

  • what kind of moisturizer would you recommend... i really learned alot from what you have said in the video

  • moisturizer really depends on skin type but I use DDF Daily Protective Moisturizer with spf 15.

  • why are u concerned with the makeup shade? its looks awesome and matches perfectly!!!!

and omg!!! u have to try SUNBASQUE blush (mac). im a lil lighter than u but i think it would look amazing on u!

  • The shimmer is very light. Also buy the mineral booster. I makes the makeup look so natural. With the concealor, foundation, and booster. I almost forgot that dark mark left on my cheek when I dropped the curling iron on it. It was gone!

  • I think I found the perfect mineralize concealor, foundation and finishing powder for your, and mine skin color.

Eyes Lips Face (ELF's website for minerals makeup) They are introducing darker colors. Ours is Deep with neutral undertones. It's beautiful and makes my face look flawless. Only 5 bucks for the same size as Bare ID's.

Good luck honey. Oh, the foundation has a slight slimmer, if that bothers you.

  • wow really! I have been waiting for ELF to come out with darker colors! i am definitely going to check it out. I'm not a huge shimmer fan, but I think its worth a try since its only 5 bucks. Thanks for the heads up!

  • WOW what's up with all the hater comments?? Girl, your makeup is always flawless in my opinion. YA Fierce!!!

  • hey u have a pretty face

but i think that ur foundation is darker than ur face color!

    get a little lighter

  • its not, but thanks for the concern.

  • ok hi I'm 21 and I've never really done my face, so do recommend just washing the face before makeup or also applying a moisturizer?

  • yeah, you want to apply a moisturizer before you apply foundation, especially if you are using a powder, so that your face doesnt look dry or cakey.

  • how do you know what foundation to buy for your skin?

  • i would go to a makeup counter and have a makeup artist/sales person match you.

  • Is it just me of does that blush (brunt) make her face look a little brunt?

  • The blush is called BLUNT and I think you meant BURNT, and as I stated in the video, that was kind of the look i was going for.

  • it kills me when ppl go out and buy the stipling brush and use it for swirling around!

omg stipling is and art form where you create tons of tiny dot for dense or loose spacing if u buy the brush and swirl it defeats the purpose!

    anyways you beautiful!

  • lol

  • what are the best brands of foundations for african american women?

  • all kinds, mac, make up for ever, becca, stila, smashbox, etc. it all just depends on your specific skin needs.

  • hi is the mineralized skin finish better than sheer powder and blot powder because i apply nw45 blot powder untop off my studio sculpt but it kinda luked wired( a lil bit dark) and somtimes wiped off and then i tried nw43 sheer powder and dat just made my face too light

  • i never tried the sheer powder, but the blot powder over studio sculpt probably would look weird because of the different textures. Yeah, I would try the mineralize skinfinish natural, i really like the finish and color of them.

  • Thanks for the blunt info I was curious about purchasing it as a contour so I'm glad you did this revieuw!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a try to find the contour color. Thanks!

  • no problem! mac doesn't sell those duos anymore, but you can find the sculpt and shape powders separately at a mac pro store.

  • I checked online, cause I live Amsterdam and Mac isn't easily available here. I don't even know if we have a MAC pro. I really dig the dark color from the duo cause it is deep enough to show up on darker skin tones. The brown contour colors make me look like I'm contouring with blusher so it looks weird. I'm gonna do my best to find that contour color here though, so thanks anyway!!!

  • good luck!

  • thanks I'll probably need it too

  • I absolutely LOVE the contour on you! I've been trying to figure out a suitable contour powder and my skintone is medium, so would you recommend Blunt for me?

  • even tho it appears brown in the pan, blunt has kind of a red undertone. i recommend using a foundation that is a few shades darker than ur shade.

  • i can't help but imagine you in a hut somewhere in africa.

don't get offended, i'm black, too. it's just that thing behind you is so distracting...

  • its less distracting than the contents of my house. But by all means, feel free to send a less distracting background my way. I'll send you my address.

  • haha, good one.

  • love it gurl

  • Hahah I used to use blunt as a contour as well, but I began to notice it was more red aswell.

    It's my faaaaaaaaaaaaavourite blush, ever.

  • just wanted to thank u for this vid, its really helpful!!

  • no problem, glad I could help!

  • :)...bc i was totally confused why tha bronzer looked brown, then when i used it as a contour, it was reddish, needless to say i tried that only once lol! but its good 2 know that some1 else had tha same experience...its kinda tough figuring out colors for our skin tones ya know.

  • If you fast forward through the entire video. we cant get thefull effect of what you are doing.. watch fafinettex3 for foundation application she does not fast forward allowing you to see everything.

  • if u watch the whole vid, you will see that she shows you step by step, exactly what she does, that way you are able to do what she does, this is a good foundation ap. vid.

  • Thats your opinion.

I didnt say she did a bad job.

i just think its really hard to see a gradual change and get the full effect of the type of converage you get if she fast forwards.

    thanks.

  • i have incredibly dry skin on my forehead and chin but oily skin on my nose and cheeks so like you i put moisturizer on certain areas and not others. if you find your drier areas to get a little dry throughout the day try using a creamier foundation like mac full coverage foundation [which basically is studio finish conceler but bigger] in your drier areas instead of studio fix fluid. you might find, like me, that it doesn't make your skin get as dry throughout the day.

  • i am a much darker tone of black and i struggle on finding my right tone......... any suggestions?

  • try iman or becca or bobbi brown, they have a wide range of colors that go pretty dark.

  • Doesn't your makeup come off on people when you hug them? i use MAC and have this problem so I use translucent setting powder on top of my Mineralize Skin Finish compact in deep. Any other suggestions?

  • i just don't put my face on people when I hug, lol.

  • you have nice cheekbones and your face is already nicely contoured :)

  • I look exactly like her when i put my nc 50 on. It covers well but i need a shade lighter. It's not the cam hun, I just brought this MAC stuff. Love your videos. Please don't get angry with me.

I am gonna return my nc 50 for a shade lighter.

But i'm a new MAC user so whats before nc 50?

  • My skin is like yours. People THINK I'm red, and sometimes I look ORANGE, but I'm actually an NC. I went to MAC yesterday and the MA confirmed it. She's like,"You're DEFINITELY an NC, always." One MAC guy about 2 months ago tried to put NW43 or 45 on me and it was too dark and the color before that would have been too light. I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I just said I would think on it. But I think he knew I didn't bother with it because he matched me wrong.

  • What's the difference between NC and NW, and how can you tell which one you are? Also, when you go to mac store, do they help you pick a foundation?

  • NW is more red pink undertones in the skin, NC is yellowish undertones

  • This may be random, but what lotions do you recommand for even skin tone for your everyday black ladies hun? I was told Palmer's works but since I'm pretty sure you know what your doing here, xD what do you think?

  • I am not sure that I understand your question exactly, but depending on what you mean, I would recommend 2 things: if you have dark acne scars or hyperpigmentation, I would recommend something with hydroquinone in it (only on the direct spot and put sunscreen on during the day. If you just need a more even toned look, I would use something with glycolic acid in it to help exfoliate dull skin away. Hope that helps.

  • Oh yeah juss for even tone lol, but would glycol be the same thing as glycolic acid?x)

  • i don't think so, but you should probably google it.

  • in studio fix foundation is n50 lighter or darker than nw45?

  • i guess you could say its lighter. Really, it just has a different undertone.

  • I agree with the drugstorequeen, I don't think your foundation color is for you. You looked so much darker, i hope you don't get offended, because I really like your vids.

  • camera and lighting.

  • I hope you don't take this the wrong way cause I love your videos, but the color of your foundation makes it look like you are painting a whole different skin color on your face. It looks more like a mask, rather than melting flawlessly in with your natural skin tone. Maybe try a different type of foundation?

  • its just the camera and the lighting hun.

  • I might just be able to make a vid for ya! :o) If I don't make it in the next week I'll def make it in the summer. But I probably will do it now!! :o)

  • cool.

  • thanx so much!

  • What lashes are you wearing in the end picture?

  • ardell 120 demi

  • do you have a tutorial on the look you did at the end with the pics?

  • yeah, it will be up in a day or two. Its just like my jennifer hudson tutorial though if you want to check that out.

  • thank you, I have been watching your videos all day :-)

  • Very nice! Your routine is fairly simple. Thx for sharing!

    Shalom & Blessings!

  • this doesnt look like yo color girl....you need more red undertones...unless its yo cam

  • I agree...

  • i agree too. though i know in past videos she said she wish she had a darker face...or that sometimes she likes to have a darker face...or somthing like that. maybe that's what's she's going for. but i agree - she's needs more red in her foudnation. i know the video lighting can play a part in what we're seeing on this end (versus in person), but that's just my opinion. love your tutorials, though - keep 'em coming!

  • its the camera. and the lighting, it makes me look orange but im actually not. if you saw me in person, you would be able to tell that it matches.

  • there are a number of factors, one being the camera and two being oxidation. Trust me, if you say me in person, you would be able to see a difference from my neck to my face.

  • Thanks for this girl, I ma gonna try the cd method and get those ELF brush you suggested...I'm glad you did the contouring part too, was considering getting that MAC Blunt blush to use to contour too :)

  • I have that contur compact i thought i bought th wrng color...LOL I never use it. I where NW45-50

  • Yeah I seen the difference in the blunt, Great tips for your viewers.I am glad I didnt choose that route now

  • Thanks for share n!!! very helpful

  • Back to 60 degreez? boohoooo.

  • lol, yeah for real. And windy!

  • i was just wondering, is there a reason y you use the liquid foundation AND the powder foundation together as opposed to just using the powder foundation by itself??

    thanx :-)

  • because I like the coverage of a liquid foundation, Studio fix fluid in particular. When using a liquid, you should always set it with a powder. this just happened to be the powder I used today. You can use a translucent powder as well.

  • Hmmm. The CD is a good idea. I just started using the back of a soap dish this morning but I might start using a cd instead. I also just bought the ELF brush you suggested and I swirled instead of tapped. Makeup looked great though. lol. Thanks for the video!
