  • That woman's voice in the jackson lifts is one of my favs

  • I've been on the bed lift at 7:43 . I think the reason why they block floors is because not every floor takes you to the normal corridor . The lift took me randomly to the 14th floor . There is just a little space and bassically they made as a storage for paper lol :D

  • PLEASE PLEASE WHERE IS THE OLD A&C LIFT ON THE SKYSCRAPERSIM VERSION?????? PLEASE PLEASE HELP BEN!!!!

  • @159james I made guys hospital for skyscrapersim a while ago, and I have only just found this aldous & campbell - that meens it is not in the skyscrapersim guy's hospital yet.

  • Remaining Schindler Lift that goes to 18 floor has a cool Nudge mode bit like the one in Watford.

  • Good video. I went into the tower the other day to the observation deck on the 30th floor near the lecture hall and restaurant.

  • @bennyman1982 You can get a good view from floor 32 too. I have been known to stair climb this tower many times.

  • @MrUNIXman

I stair climbed to the 9th floor then got the lift to the 18th, then had to get the other on to the 30th floor. Those stairs are a bit industrial looking and spooky rather than more plush hospital stairs.

  • @bennyman1982 I have climbed all 32 floors on Stairs and 1 time I did make a 42 floor climb by climbing to 30 then down 10 floors and back up 12 floors. I had no problems with the stairs apart there is 2 floor.

  • @MrUNIXman 2 floor 19. Also They seems to be doing up the tower as I trying to get in for abseiling on this tower.

  • Cool!

  • I wish I could of went in the shindler lifts.

  • what program did you use

  • I noticed there was like 2 floors for 19 as I was Stair Climbing which puzzled me

  • i worked on the installation of the schindler lifts, they are governed down to speed of 600 ft per min.

  • There no reason to replace schindlers with jackson. :(

  • Did you add sound effects?

  • Floor 30 is accessable to the Service Lift and I did see the View over London. As I did walk to this floor by stairs then went down in the Service lift.

  • Great video, I love to try this fast lift that goes to 29th floor

  • @MrUNIXman You need to be quick as they are being replaced with Jacksons.

  • @benobve when they are doing that?

  • @MrUNIXman right now

  • 1990s is not old why replace the lifts

  • @mas90009 40 years is a long time for a busy passenger lift.

  • @express777100 built in 1970

  • The one you turned to at 4:40 is now out of service and being updated, and the one next to it had apparently developed a 'fault'.

  • Great video Benobve!

I love love LOVE these super fast Tower lifts: I remember going on these when I was younger (abour 3-5 years old, Im 20 now) and was so thrilled by the speed of those lifts. The buttons with the red line led is something I clearly remember (and is seen at The Glades Shopping Centre - some trivia for you!) Went on a self tour today and came across the new ones - wanted to go back down in the old Schindler ones but the rickety door sound creeped me out! Missed my chance :(

  • @fkfj16 I also like the fast lifts in the tower :)

There are schindler lifts with the same buttons at whatford shopping center.

  • :( Sucks that Jackson had to replace the lifts!

  • What is the built year?

  • @mas90009

    Platt schindlers - 1960s

    schindlers - 1990s

    jacksons - 2009

  • @benobve I like that schindler touch buttons.

You have this building but also skyscrapersim. Can you close the doors because there is a large crack in the doors.

  • @mas90009 1970

  • The high-rise lifts now go all the way up to the 30th floor viewing lobby with amazing views over London, that floor was locked off for renovation work at the time of making this video and now looks fantastic. It was part of the work to update the Tower Lecture Theatre....... YES there is a 200 seat raked lecture theatre covering floors 29 and 30 of Guy's Tower, its the highest theatre of its type in Europe. The bit that sticks out at the top of the tower is the back of the lecture theatre.

  • i really like that chime @ 01:34

  • Were you out on a day trip from the Adamson Centre at Tommies?

  • @ 3:13 is that one of the lifts being modernised

  • yes

  • I love the way European's say spooky. =D

  • i was born in guy`s and my father was a porter there for yrs he always said that the 6th floor at 1 point for mental ppl and had a police officer outside it 24/7 this has now moved to the back nxt to the service yard due to the amount of deaths there thanks for the vid

  • nice videos, but how do you make that voice? what program??? please tell me,

  • I use sony vegus to make this

The voice is only my voice

if you don't have sony vegus you can make the map animation in powerpoint and record it with Cam studio screen capture and join the map to the movies with windows movie maker.

  • Jacksons are currently the process of a multi million pound project of modernising the low and High Rise Schindler Lifts at Guys. You can see more about this at the jacksons lifts website. Good video

  • great video,i do like watching your lift tours videos keep up the good work

  • I admire your investigative instinct! Have too many comments and don't have time to put them here right now! Super video!!

Do you have any more (edited out) footage of that old trolley lift in the high rise tower?

My previous company maintained the access control system on this site, got to go there lots, inc ride the firemans lift, although it was always in use and difficult to get it to myself!! I was going back here one day to film, but you've done it now and probably better than i could!

  • in this video I had to edit out at lot of footage because of youtubes 11 mim limit

  • Yes, I realise that (I thought it was 10mins!! Learn something new...!)

Any chance of putting something together of these old lifts? I didn't know that old trolley lift existed, even has the original schindler buttons (firemans lift COP is updated). If you do, any more footage of peering throught glass of motor room door?

  • Great Video, My dad works there has an Acting CEO of the hosptial and Director of safety and Facilities, Because i sometime go to work with him, i can tell you that the second 19th floor is generators and lift generators. Becareful guys is very strict with filming without an permit that have everyright to confiscate your camera and will not return it. anyway Good video and Fav:)

  • thanks for commenting

  • Please don't go down the road of getting this taken off youtube. I know we shouldn't film in this type of situation, but we are only persuing our interest of lifts and don't mean any harm by it. If we DID ask, then i don't think many people would authorise it unless you know the facilities people personally.

  • i not going to get it taken off why would i, and yes i do know the facilites people E.g my dad

  • Cool! Are you interested in lifts, did you ever visit the lift motor room here?

There are some really old lifts here, probably relay controllers - must be loads of racks full of them!

  • Yes, About an month ago when there was an fault on the lift but no i not interested in them just trains

  • The don't actually have the right to confiscate the camera. If the camera was confiscated without a court notice, the confiscators would be technically stealing. Also, they can't delete any pictures without a court order.

  • Source from Guys and St thomas Website

Please note that anyone who is found to be filming or photographing at our hospitals without the permission of the Trusts communications team will be asked to leave immediately, and footage, Camera and photographs may be confiscated" I should Know My Dad is Managment there

  • Ok, what law says a Security Guard or whatever you call them nowadays can take a camera of someone?

  • i dunno what law it is but they must be allowed to do it, because if they wasn't they would not do it

  • They can't take the camera, they can't even touch it if the owner doesn't allow it. Also, charges of assault can be brought.

  • BTW why Is there a no photo rule? It is because of the usual, Terrorism.

  • its to do with patient privacy, but they surley can take it has they have permission to do by NHS

  • I hardly think filming the lifts will infringe privacy bye-laws, most of us lift filmers generally stop filming when someone else comes in, unless this is unavoidable.

  • well its just nhs policy

  • For some reason Southend Hospital doesn't have ANY mention of a no photo rule.
