Yeh hear in the U.S. there is no celing on what universities can charge this needs to stop or there will be huge problems in the near future. I my self have a degree in anthro/history and ed cert. and have thought about getting an MLS but I hear that those library jobs are hard to get.
@corm1000 A mix of scholarships, fellowships, Teaching assistantships and crappy minimum wage jobs. I'm also in Canada where there is a ceiling on how much universities can charge. Could not do this if I lived in the US.
I graduated from Fanshawe College!! with 2 years diploma which got me a job in Toronto! later I felt really bad about not having a university degree, so joined WGU university & I completed it after 2 years of very stressful hard work! later
I got a better job, but I'm seriously thinking of putting myself back to school to get master degree & ultimately get a PHD in computer science.
Hi brokennarcissist, great to hear from you, LU rocks :) Generally the MLIS is a good idea, the only problem right now is that the jobs are pretty scarce, but hopefully the situation will improve in the future though.
what is graduate school like, in particular, the Master's program. Im graduating in 15 days with a B.A. in History with honors and geography minor and i really want to further my education. any advice?
I would recommend looking for something that you find interesting and useful. I did an MA in history and decided to use that in combination with an MLIS for better employment opportunities.

I get my masters at the end of the year. Are PhD's just for if you want to be a teacher? Do they have any value in the regular job market?
