  • Incredible song. Incredible feeling. I disagree about the end... it feels pretty climatic to me!

What a monster of a track; whenever I hear it I just want to strip off, get high and have sex with other men.

  • This is my favorite album of the year so far. die-hard Carey Mercer fan though... I think frog eyes drums are more divisive than Carey's frog throat.

  • PHIL OCHS! great choice, anthony

  • you're great.

  • just wondering..how do you find all these bands?

  • *shrugs* blogs

  • Listening more than Metallica... :D

  • @rizosfella omg i wish people would stop saying that. i made this account a long while ago, i don't even like metallica anymore. :(

  • "some faint piano chords BOOMING..." Really???

  • Yeah, I guess that's a bad mix of words in the descrip, eh?

  • congratz congratz! supah stoked fah yoo. keep it up, brah.

  • can you make a review of the band sick puppies album tri polar ill pay message me thanks keep up the good work bro

  • i think the unclimactic ending is because it's an album opener. Maybe it's to compliment the second track on the album.

  • It's probable, but I didn't really hold too much of an issue w/it. It was really the drumming that I wish was a little more involved, that's all.

  • Along with Carey Mercer, and admittedly with a huge amount of bias (being Canadian, for one), I would confidently contend that Spencer Krug, Dan Bejar and, as mentioned, Mercer are three of the, if not THE three most exciting musicians of the past decade/current musical landscape. Love them, love them, love them.

  • Hah dont apologize for having a personality man. Most people are lacking.

  • Holy shit frog eyes sounds good! And congrats.

  • you bring out allot of energy in your videos thats why i like the reviews

  • btw, congratulations!! hehe

  • i didn't get that hispter runoff website. it seems like a big pile of hype gangster doo doo crap.

  • It's an acquired taste, I'd like to think.

  • yeah, me neither ...

  • Funny you mention Paul Ochs, just started getting into him haha. Are you familiar with Nick Drake?

  • Yes, I do know him, actually. Pink Moon never really thrilled me, though. His demeanor is a little too "sleepy" for me, maybe?

  • I respect that, he's definitely really mellow. Although he is a personal favorite, we can still be friends =)

  • Congrats on the publicity on the Alt Report! You do a great job dude! Ill have to check out Frog Eyes!

  • You listen to Terry Gross too?!

  • Dude, I work @ a NPR station, of course. :-p

  • awesome review. I'm going to check this guy out. Glad I subscribed!

  • I'm glad you subbed, too! :-D

  • mel's drumming is part of what makes frog eyes so special. :)

  • I dunno. I didn't really get it here, I think. *shrugs*

  • i can see that. her drumming had a kind of more "musical" quality on earlier records like The Golden River (my favorite). she used a found object as part of her kit, and it went "ding!" it was absent on Tears of the Valedictorian and most likely this new one. still, i like the simplicity since she has good rhythm and it's a nice contrast to Carey's vocals.

  • I'm not very big on the Art/Prog stuff that comes out of Canada -- except for Sunset Rubdown, but even they're meh sometimes -- but this was ok. I didn't really pay attention to the drums because everything else was so booming. Loved the vocal delivery. Thanks Anthony.

  • Glad you dug it!!!! :-D

  • very funny great review!!!

  • Woot! :-D

  • ...pleasant, jazz...

  • Hahaha. is that good or bad?

  • dunno, i guess it just means you don't consider jazz pleasant... (1:55 ish)

  • I LOVE PHIL OCHS!!

  • He rules!

  • i can't seem to find the page where you talk about what you're looking for in track suggestions

  • It's under the YT channel descrip in "How to suggest songs / albums for review: "

  • It's now added to the vid descrip, too. Sorry I forgot it. :-p

  • Interesting. I will check out this Phil musician. Never heard of him.

  • :-D

  • If we make music that we made that we want your opinion on, but we don't want a whole video will we still need to donate?

  • You're a musician, and you shouldn't be bending to the whims of critics. If you ask me advice on your music, all I'm going to do is tell you how to make music I like. Part of the excitement in being a musicians is making music you like. if that's what you're doing, then be merry. :-)

  • And bud-ee-dah-dah-dah...

  • Bwahahaha!

  • This shit is awesome man... I watch every single freaking video.

    Be happy.
