My toyger has a growth defect in his back legs where the muscles haven't grown so he walks in his haunches (it's funny to watch, it's like he's constantly stalking) but this hasn't stopped him from doing anything, sure he can't jump as high but he's a little tinker. He won't rest till he has been on EVERY horizontal surface in the house. Toygers are an absolutely delightful breed, but you should never get an animal for designer purposes, pets should be an extension of your family.

The price of these is outragous. Any street tabby can look like a toyger, and are just as loving, and beautiful. I have a little tabby who is identical to these cats; broad head, strong chin, long nose, flat head, rounded ears and the exact some markings, but cost me a 100$ shelter fee.

I just found a kitten that looks like that. It's a girl which is spotted on her belly. She has beautiful stripes and all across her body. She likes like a mini-leopard. Really awesome. I know it's not a pure-breed but she came out gorgeous. I got lucky. I probable will post some videos of her soon. I've gotten all my pets from the pound. I have one dog and 2 cats...well now I have 3 cats.

Its actually not bred with a bengal tiger, but a bengal cat. They are hybrid cats, and not at all related to real tigers.
Check out "bengal cat" in wikipedia. :)

Someday I will have one! They're adorable. I didn't know they had anything to do with Maine Coons. I grew up with a Maine Coon and she was my favorite cat ever. Can't go wrong with them!

The people you all should be upset with are the dumb asses who don't spay or neuter their pets and just let them roam around the neighborhood. Almost all kittens that come from breeders HAVE to be fixed, otherwise they have to prove they are a reputable breeder and pay even more money for these rights.

Wow some people are so ignorant! Yes I am a cat lover and do I agree with paying thousands of dollars for a certain cat just because it look cool..no. I do however, know that ALOT of people not only buy these animals because they are cool, but also because they have a very cool dog like temperament thats extremely fun to have around.

I really don't see anything about the toyger that would be called different as far as looks go. every pic I have seen so far show a tabby cat with a bengal head. theres no real tiger look here. I have seen many tabbies over the years with just as much markings on them without special breeding. and thats the problem of the toyger. too many markings! it should be bred for less strips and more color.

Agreed. I think before they go out and sell these broad headed tabbies, they should atleast breed them till they have the actual look of a tiger, like how the Ashera cat is. The price of these is outragous. Any street tabby can look like a toyger, and are just as loving, and beautiful. I have a little tabby who is identical to these cats; broad head, strong chin, long nose, flat head, rounded ears and the exact some markings, but cost me a 100$ shelter fee.

have you seen what an adult toyger looks like? they grow as big as a maine coon and their fur will become a deep orange and a jet black just like a tiger. not to mention they beat the crap out of dogs anyday lol !

i'm a cat lover and i'm not trying to be mean or nasty about this....but i just wish ppl wouldn't breed cats like a freaking trend! they're CATS for crying out loud! it's not like going to the store to buy a new jacket with stripes. Let the kitties just be regular kitties :(

I just found a kitten that looks like that. It's a girl which is spotted on her belly. She has beautiful stripes and all across her body. She likes like a mini-leopard. Really awesome. I know it's not a pure-breed but she came out gorgeous. I got lucky. I probable will post some videos of her soon. I've gotten all my pets from the pound. I have one dog and 2 cats...well now I have 3 cats.

this is ridiculous. my dad was angry when he heard about these new cats. he works in an animal sanctuary and he says there are lots of cats and dogs which need new homes but people would rather pay silly money for these designer cats. crazy

I want one, I would love to be part of the beginning of this ground-breaking breeding program. My tabby just gave birth to two stripy minature tigers, one grey and white, one tawny like an occi-kitten, with a spotted belly and classic mackerel stripes, i wonder if there was a loose toyger-tom in the neighbourhood!
