This tech works, but is dangerous in the hands of idiots! Plus battery and fuel companies would lose money like mad. Once they sell these things you would never have to replace them for decades, these companies wouldn't make alot of money unless they sold these things in the thousands of dollars, and had alot of contract work. So yes! Banned by capitalism, but also banned because of general human stupidity, on all fronts.
@NolanWhite These are just low yield alpha and beta particle generators. See the new Mars probe launched today has a battery that last more than 14 years at a require output, longer still at lower outputs! Safe mate. Safe as houses for people like me. It's the idiot banter idiots that hold us all back! Grooming him
Frankly, this is the most powerful electric energy source that needs very little engineering and it's self-disposing, the containment case for an atomic battery can be it cask when it finishes it's power cycle.
Idiot. Atomic batteries costs less than metal hydrate batteries but last decades and battery companies DON'T want to sell them?? They could charge $100 for an AA battery that lasts years. There's a HUGE incentive to selling atomic batteries. But today all the atomic batteries are made in labs for space vehicles and could barely power a wrist watch.
It is so blatantly obvious to me that nuclear batteries are a huge boon to humanity. The issue is simply energy density. It's so maddening to see the whole world ready to fall off a precipice because it's too stupid to pay attention to simple scientific facts. How much research have you done on this? Do you see any evidence of any companies working on these technologies, for more mundane uses than space travel or specialised medicine?
