I actually like being an extra, a lot. I am not trying to become the next Brad Pitt or anything or even take an acting career that seriously, it actually pays for the rent. It is another form of income that and I have a great time doing it. I do open mic nights every now and then, a casting director happened to like me and gave me their website, soon enough I signed up and started getting extra work in Sag and non sag, and now I am actually getting decent roles paying supporting roles.
@supergirl1516 That seems to be a very small partial input into becoming a famous actor. Its mainly about skill and capability, not personality. People like Johnny Depp and Christian Bale have hardly any personality, but still successful and rightly so. Then there are people like Matt Smith and Will Smith, personality is totally there, and they are successful, but not as.
@jnb1231 here is some advice, i have gotten lead roles and been in plenty backround movies. First if u cant find anyone that is currently with an agency do some research. Once u find somewhere easy to get to meet with the agent and get ur headshots. After they are posted, this is where the waiting comes. U dont have to audititon for backround they just call u. Other things like i do u have to audition like voice overs tv shows and more. I really hope this helps remember, lots of time\money. :)
i want to be an actor...but to be honest, i can't be bothered with the training. there are some amazing young actors out there without and ounce of training! and I should be finished my studies by the time im 19...and im 14 now. so yay! im staying an extra year at high school, doing a year at college and then hopefully get into a good university or acting school who can then put me in touch with agents and then yay

my cousin is a casting director she works with directors in england ;D she said she can give me tips for mine, what she looks for and if i should start looking for a new career idea Lol xD
She's right, it is worth working a few jobs as an extra for experience. It's not about how much money you've earned!
It's good if they've seen that you've experienced working on a film or TV set, and in the UK you can join Equity if you're working as a background artiste professionally.
ne day a girl named alex was looking out the window, when she saw a man staring at her. than The next day she looked out the window and NOW she saw a little girl staring at her. Than that night when she was asleep she saw the little girl in her room. than the next morning she was found dead. if you do not post this to 13 Videos, The little girl will visit u tonight.
@rotivevan no ur wrong extra helps ur resume more than u know it means u know how to work around camera have experience around sets understand voice and movement saying u r an extra and been in some highschool plays or college / theater plays helps so much!!
THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER. BUT I LOVE MY MOM SO I AM NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES.If you don't copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours. dumb i no Remaining character count
you get paid minimum wage to be an extra. My friend and i have the same agent and when he was put as an extra on One Tree Hill, he only made $6.50 an hour. But he worked on the set for 10 hours. sooooo... you do the math.
major turn off when she said '' start by being an extra''. -.-

No offence to extras, but alot of them seem like mentally unstable wanna be film stars :/

@AlmightyGidge5991 Thats how u build up to be a film star. Look at kesha she used to be backround in lots of things :)

@supergirl1516 Yeah but its sought of luck. Extra's come in their thousands, and only a very small handful get picked to be famous.
AlmightyGidge5991 1 year ago
@AlmightyGidge5991 its not ALWAYS luck its also about outgoingness and personality :)

How's the pay if you were an extra or just a small part?
JetHawk 4 years ago 2
sometimes you don't get paid at all. If you do get paid it depends on the budget for the film--is it a feature film, short, independent, student, etc
AzureSkyzz 3 years ago

frostedflakes69 3 years ago
If you were an extra, you would usually get paid nothing.
If you had a small role, it would depend on the role but the amount is usually very low or nothing.
SeanFilms 3 years ago
i know dont sound very exciting but sometimes being a extra isnt so bad you can sometimes find agents doing that just keep that in mind.=)
babyphat233971127 3 years ago
dont think so you stilled audition and your still in the movie......you might not get paid AS MUCH but you usually
