  • Fuck that. That will be so gay. FWD Falcon is just chopping the nuts and heritage off the Falcon

  • FWD Falcon? THIS...IS...MADNESS!

  • Bring back the Scirocco to the US. I'd snap one up in a heart beat!

  • yes scirocco

  • Scirocco vs. Veloster would be epic to see!

  • I vote no on the front wheel drive Falcon. I mean who in their right mind would buy one. It's like buying a front wheel drive Mustang or Camaro...just doesn't make sense. Please keep the Falcon RWD Ford!

  • FWD falcon based on some something like a Taurus? Oh no ford in australia wont survive. Just close down now.

  • There's gotta be something we can do to prevent the Falcon from going FWD. I don't care if we're all the way in the U.S. or any other land far away from Oz.

  • I just got back from Toyota Japan and it was snowing like crazy up there. Surprisingly the main factory was open I think.

  • and about the full size suvs, with the price of gas going up, they should offer v6 engines. Look a Chrysler, their using the pentastar V6 in the new Grand Cherokee and the new Dodge Durango. And Ford is using the Ecoboost V6 in the F150. And it won't be long before that engine makes it into the Expedition and the Navigator.

  • @datkoolbrutha There is only slight fuel economy changes from a v8 to a v6 in a truck/suv, many times a v8 gets better fuel economy, v6's and v8's almost allways gets much better fuel economy in larger vehicles than I4's because of the bi engines doesn't have to work too hard.

  • @CDTbossy Dude, I think you should do a little more research on the EcoBoost V6s coming from Ford! The new engines get 15% better fuel economy than a V8. That might not be much but it's way better than a V8. The F-150 will be the first full size truck to get that application. The same V6 is in the New Explorer and gets like 17 in the city, and 25 on the highway. And I own a Mercury Mountaineer and it gets 14 city and 20 highway, and the new Explorer basically owns my truck in a race!

  • @CDTbossy in my mountaineer, I have a cold air intake, new exhaust, and kooks headers. And like I said, I raced a dealership worker in the new Ford Explorer, and that thing beat my truck like it was nothing. Can't imagine what the EcoBoost application in the Expedition will do.

Like it or not, newer V6 engines are tearing ass of the V8s.

  • Is there a market for a sporty hatchback in North America?

Ask Mitsubishi and Subaru. The Evo and the WRX STi have been doing well in sales. And look at Ford with the Fiesta and the 2012 Focus ST that's coming soon. Bring the Scirocco here already!

  • They've got a system that won't let you drive the car if it detects you're drunk? Oh yeah, I'm sure THAT'S going to be reliable as hell 40 years from now. I can just imagine a kid buying a 2013 car for $1200 in the future, getting in it in the morning to go to school.

"Billy, why aren't you at school?!"

"Sorry mom, the car says I'm drunk."

    "Are you?"

"No, but I'm white. Car can't tell the difference, apparently."

  • Doesn't Toyota sell more trucky SUV namplates than anyone else?

FJ, 4Runner, Sequoia, Landcruiser, GX, LX?

  • doesn't nissan have the drunk driving concept down?

  • Scirocco is awesome small car that looks better than GOLF, if they put good price and a lot of electronics as stock not optional stuff than they can make BIG money out of it coz lets face it if you want small car under $20 000 than u can get scions (not cool anymore) Honda Civic(blends) Fiesta(cool but not as good looking) Toyota (not for young people) and everything else has CVTs so big O'HELL NO !!

  • People still want large vehicles. I don't think that the automakers should be putting all of their money into designing smaller cars.

I think that Electric SUV's and Minivans might sell well..

  • Bring on the Scirocco! The car beautiful and it can compete with that surprisingly amazing Hyundai Veloster.

And about those fuel prices and regulations. I'm really scared for this. Not in the way automakers are, but seeing a bunch of Ford Fiesta's isn't going to be a good sight. And think about Chrysler. Even with Fiat, they are still going to be too dependent on big cars.

  • OMG, you're hair is green!

  • Bring the VW Scirocco ASAP i look forward to that car

  • FWD Falcon? Yuck.

  • Scirocco: Bring it!

FWD Falcon: Final decision is coming later in 2011. Best bet, Falcon dev will be tied to the next Mustang. Both will be V8 and RWD. As long a Mulally is FORD CEO and likes the Falcon, it'll be RWD at least.

Large vehicles: Detroit will adopt a new religion: Reduce Density. Reducing weight without reducing size. This will save RWDs as well.

  • It WILL be the death of the Falcon in Australia if it goes FWD.
