hi would you be able to explain how you got the shadows for the last clip, i know how to enable shadows when a light is present, but i'd imagine you'd need a plane for the shadow to cast onto? how do you render the object and its shadow and nothing else?
@tarrizzzzzzzzz Do you mean how did I do the actual ball animation or the reflection? The ball was just a bunch of random torus shapes with some delay on the animation, not sure, probably something with mograph but I don't really remember as this was from over 2 years ago.
@tarrizzzzzzzzz i don't remember, but it defiantly wasn't HD. I think it might have been just like the video on my point-and-shoot camera. I think SynthEyes is really meant to use HD, as I had a lot of issues with trackers (I had to re-shoot a few "scenes" multiple times to get it to take)
Great stuff. I agree with Bendmac, most of the match moving videos have terrible lighting or they don't crush the blacks to match the video and the objects stand out as fake. Great stuff. I look forward to seeing more of yours. I'm just starting into VFX and hope to make stuff as good as this. :D Thanks for posting.
Barring the last one (Which might, to be fair, just have been too ambitious), they all looked quite realistic. The tracking is great, of course, but what really surprised me was the lighting: Usually, the lighting in tracking tests is haphazard at best, but you really looked at the surroundings and figured out all the light sources/colors, etc. fairly well. I don't know if it was accidental or not, but so far, you've got some of the best compositing work I've seen on YouTube yet.
nice man, i've always had trouble getting results to translate properly into c4d, i've used a few over the years, pftrack, boujou, matchmover etc. what are you using? would love to know
Its always creepy when you cant see the shadow in the mirror...

@peelugum haha, how random, i actually got one for christmas :D it's amazing :p
only thing that bothers me is the skew :/ kinda makes tracking difficult at times. . .
wish i had CS5.5, that would help, but i only got CS5 :/

It annoyed me a bit that you didn't bother to extend the plate and make the thing in the mirror cast shadows to.. Because this is great work:D
Love the sight of your MacBook Pro also;) It's still a week till I get mine.

It's an 'old' PowerBook, not a MacBook Pro (I wish it were though). Enjoy yours. :)
