  • BJJ is the best

  • What is he makes the leg triangle the other way round?

  • @sarah311090 I was thinking that too, and then in class today i figured out that no one would triangle their leg the other way because they would get knee barred. Thats why they hide their leg in that particular triangle, and I was able to hit the sweep, albeit really sloppy.

  • PORRA,boa ein...v6 parecem bem jovens,mas parecem bem habilidosos.parabens!!

  • Those kids are really goods!

  • BJJ is a brothehood. I would like to see people respect the game of jiu-jitsu more, respect each other & respect yourselves. Jiu-jitsu has a billion different styles, like them or not. I cant play rubber guard, but I study and respect it, otherwise I'll get caught. I dont like 50/50 but I know it....I like my ankles :) People get tapped, that's how life works, it should make you a BETTER, not BITTER person. In BJJ you either win or you learn - Carlos Gracie. TNX for the vid NOCBID

  • That is a very nice !

  • Looks great and I will try this out soon. I have a question to somebody that might have tried this. After the roll would it be a viable idea to try for a "banana split" ?

  • Looks awesome. But your knee must be out of half guard before you step out I suppose. It might work still on someone that doesn't hold their halfguard tight enough perhaps.

  • forget 10th planet.... its all wack shit, Gracie isnt the best either, just more known because the name. There are so many great BJJ players right now. That arent gracies..

  • @damng lol. thats as far as I go.

  • Awesome idea

  • PARABÉNS POR DAR AULA EM PORTUGUES...

  • These guys are absolutely sick. I went to a seminar conducted by Guilherme this weekend. It was awsome well worth the money. The entire seminar was about taking the back.

  • @hardcastleian Hey I was at that seminar. He was awesome!

  • @akgroundnpound Look guy, make a valid point. You sound like a caveman "Ughhh, me so sorry....Ughhh, 10th Planet is dum-dum......Ugggghhhhhh, I drink Gracie Kool-Aid." You my friend are an idiot. I didnt even compare 10pjj to the Gracies. I made a valid point. I train under a Gracie brown belt that is now under a Machado black belt. Point is, I use any JJ technique that works, I dont care if its Gracie basics or RG or 50/50 or whatever. Just give credit where its due and try to make valid point

  • @akgroundnpound really is that how you promote a school? Why would i or anyone want to look up a school where people just talk shit about other schools. No thanks

  • @akgroundnpound obviously you have never rolled in your life.

  • this is gold

  • 10th planet is just a goofy form of BJJ, its not a separate art. even if you dont agree with Eddie, you have to give him respect, if you think being being a black Belt under JJ Machado doesn't mean your legit you don't know shit about BJJ

  • Muito massa!

  • I've been trying to get this to work for a while with no luck. The guy either ends up on to of me or just in half guard still. I think maybe I'm rolling towards the feet over my shoulder where as he's rolling more to his side. I dunno. Does anyone know what this move is called so I can find a video with english?

  • @tuopvm dont kick towards his head. kick to the side

  • @tuopvm it's a "raspagem da meia guarda" (sweep from half guard), but I'm not sure you can find it somewhere else.

If the guy is falling on top or on the same position, you're probably rolling from the regular half guard. You should invert the half guard's base before rolling. Check at 0:06. Hope it works, bom treino.

  • This like the half-guard twister!! NICE!!! And the twister didnt come from E. Bravo, he learned it from Bjorn Friedrich who last I knew was a brown belt!! Need more proof read Eddie's book, he explains it!! And he never took credit for the twister. I'm not an Eddie Bravo supporter by anymeans, just respect his innovations.. His students would be more of a threat without the rubber guard though!! lol

  • wow thats something else

  • @ RDbushi Eddie Bravo that "10 planet kid" is actually a black belt under Carlos Machado just to let you know

  • @bjjtai you aint tellin nothin i dont know

  • @bjjtai i thought it was jean jacques? either way i've trained with carlos and jean jacques and i can tell you from personal experience...they're really, fucking, good.

  • Muito bom! valeu

  • B R A Z I L I A N P R I D E

  • When have you ever seen them do this in a fight? NEVER!

  • @Notengoespacio i agree its another form of gaurd and if utilized well yeah it can work, but people act like 10th planet is the new gracie jiu-jitsu. i think its fine once (like you said) you dont base your whole game off of it

  • When I try this the guy ends up on top of me in side mount. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong

  • do you have the wrong leg in half-g? its a step-over half-guard, not a same-side. Does that a make sense? I've found this is a great follow-up to a failed Kouchi-Gari. Mendes bros. ftw!

  • @tuopvm Everything. JK! Sometimes techniques don't work well when drilled because your parnter is lifeless or not making the correct movement with you.

  • @pchancey007 I think it's something I'm doing. Even when I get it to work it's more because I'm quicker than the other guy and I scramble to his back. It's never like the video shows where the guy ends up completely vulnerable. I like it because most people don't expect it but when it goes wrong I screw myself.

  • Anyone ever heard of the samurai in 10th planet jiujitsu by Eddie Bravo???? Well this is it. Check it out. 10TH PLANET!!!

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! shut up with that eddie bravo bullshit man. These Mendes bros have more success in BJJ at the age of 19 and 21, than eddie has had in his whole life...and I'm not even from Atos.

  • @bostonalext Either of them ever beat Royler Gracie ... or any Gracie for that matter?

  • @MrMZaccone what does that have to do with anything?? you can be a world class BJJ fighter without beating a Gracie. lol Do you even follow this sport?

  • @bostonalext Can you beat a Gracie without being a world class competitor? "what does that have to do with anything??" Do you follow ... anything? Competitors like Aoki Shinya are using Bravo's methodology to great advantage and with great success. Do I follow the sport? Not so much. I study the art and have since 1994. My instructors have included Royce, Rorion, Relson, Ryron, Rener, and Helio Gracie, Carlos Elias and numerous others.

  • @MrMZaccone Shinya Aoki was training BJJ before 10th Planet even existed. He's a black belt under Yuki Nakai. If you don't follow the sport then why are we even discussing this? Eddie Bravo is an internet fad. Nothing more. If you've been training since '94 you must be a 2nd degree black belt. Under who?

  • @bostonalext Yes! and he trained Judo for years before that ... SO WHAT? Chunks of his game plan are also right out of the 10th planet playbook and if you deny that you either don't follow the sport the way you claim or you're fucking blind. Why are we discussing it? Because you started running down Eddie Bravo with no reason. Me, a black belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu? Nope, but I'm still studying and under who, is none of your business.

  • @MrMZaccone sure theres reason...someone brought up eddie bravo, in a credible jiu-jitsu thread. Eddie bravo talk doesn't belong in here, especially regarding two of the best BJJ fighters in the world, who train IN THE GI. Eddie hates the gi, so why even bring it up?? Also I asked because you are the one who said you "studied" with the Gracies since '94 trying to throw that around...I'm a Gracie Barra brown belt..what about you?

  • @bostonalext Do you want to compare yourself to me? Would you like to know about my physical limitations first or are you just going to continue to make assumptions? Bravo was brought up because the move in this video is virtually identical to what is referred to as the "samurai" in the tenth planet system. No reason to discredit the Mendes brothers and it's being brought up is no reason to discredit Eddie Bravo. "eddie bravo bullshit" That's not worthy of you or your alleged rank, friend.

  • @bostonalext The truth is I'm probably alot older than you and congenital osteoarthritis has limited my ability to pursue jiu-jitsu at the physical level of intensity I would like. Yes, I still study and I'll probably NEVER get a black belt. Hope you still enjoy being on the mat when you have my X-rays. BTW, Guys with your attitude are why I choose very carefully the place I do study and now I'm CERTAIN that's none of your business.

  • @MrMZaccone Look the truth is Eddie Bravo is not respected in the BJJ community because of his antics, his disrespect of the art, using BJJ to promote drug use etc. When you speak from a position of "authority" like you have in here people are going to ask you what your experience is...theres no reason to bring up Edgar Cano in this topic, the mendes bros aren't influenced by him LOL. No one respects him because he gives BJJ a bad image and it will more often than not cause a reaction like this.

  • @bostonalext Now see, those are some valid points. If you'd started with them instead of "LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! shut up with that eddie bravo bullshit man." which I'm going to make you admit was beneath you, I wouldn't have had a problem with it. I'm not a fan of Eddie's drug advocacy either and yeah, he's a character and maybe not a good one but to discount him without VALID reason (which you did until now) wins nobody over. Agreed?

  • @MrMZaccone Rafael Mendes beat Cobrinha before the age of 20. Twice. In the gi to win the Abu Dhabi Pro Cup 2009 at <65 kg and no-gi at ADCC 2009, to win the <66 kg division. He beat Robson Moura and Leo Vieira to get to the finals of each of those tournaments, respectively. Guilherme is a 5 time World Champ and a 3 time Brazilian National Champ. You don't have to fight a Gracie to be a world class competitor, and these guys are two of the best.

  • @getthetapjj Nice strawman argument.

  • @MrMZaccone Wonder what it's like to get tapped by a straw man

  • @getthetapjj Probably alot like tripping over a dangling participle. I'm sure that the Mendes brothers are more than competent and that the technique they are demonstrating is very, very functional. It is nevertheless the same or very similar to a technique used in the tenth planet system as demonstrated by Eddie Bravo and described using the specific name "the samurai"..

  • @MrMZaccone No, it is not the same technique. The roll is different. I'm familiar with the Samurai and the Twister Roll, but those involve a different lacing of the legs, where you are grape-vining their far leg. Here, you are allowing your opponent to hold on to half guard, where they are trapping your leg, not you trapping theirs. You roll in the same direction, but it doesn't work the same. They're both great techniques, but there are important differences

  • @getthetapjj OK, I'll buy that. I still see no reason for people to attack Eddie Bravo every time he comes up. Instead, point out what you just pointed out and look like an intelligent educated human being instead of a tool. People need to stick to the subject instead of involving themselves in personalities.

  • @MrMZaccone I agree. I love the 10th Planet system, but I view it more as something to incorporate into my overall game, rather than to base my game off of entirely. Eddie is a cool guy and has made important contributions to jiu-jitsu and jiu-jitsu mentality, but I think his polemicized bashing of all things gi puts him at odds with people who recognize its utility and importance, and who have made successful transitions to no-gi grappling and MMA.

  • @getthetapjj I agree. Eddie's system is far too specific to a peculiar talent of flexibility and it leaves out alot of more traditional time tested techniques that are easier for the average joe (me). It's still useful in alot of ways even if I don't agree completely with Eddie's lifestyle or philosophy on the gi (which I don't). Eddie's pretty odd but so was Nikola Tesla and he gave us radio control, AC current and the induction motor.

  • FUCK 10TH PLANET KID if your serious about jiu-jitsu straight machado or gracie is the way to go. 10th planet does not work as well. i used to love 10th planet then i woke up

  • @RDbushi it still has its good side. even though i wouldnt base my entire grappling repertoire on it, i'd still use some of the moves they teach. i.e. the puppetmaster, rubix cube, and prison guard are my favourite things to play. thats probably because I'm a bottomguard kinda guy. likewise, basing your grappling repertoire on bjj, sambo, jjj, judo and wrestling alone isn't smart.

  • @RDbushi

Why are you and everyone hatting on E. Bravo for? If you ask me what matters more is not the tech but the fighter. I think Eddie's Rubber guard is sick and he's got alot of advanced tech to it. I think wither its BJJ, Catch, Judo, or 10thJJ I'm glad there are different styles of wrestling.

  • @bananabread119 i dont hate eddie bravo its that some people thinks its the new way. 10th planet black belts are not equal to a bjj black belts. and bravo seems realy into his image

  • @RDbushi Let me tell you somthing.....If you try tellin me that 10th planet doesnt work then you my friend need to STOP JJ right now bro. Eddie Bravos half guard game is one of the best out there, and the rubber guard works really well if you have the flexability. His twister set-ups are very good as well. And I dont just work 10PJJ, and I do like rolling in a Gi, so Im not one sided in my opinion. But 10PJJ is a really good NO-GI system.

  • @RDbushi lol

  • @RDbushi

For the record, Eddie Bravo is a JJ Machado second degree BB.

  • @RDbushi You are a dipshit. Eddie Bravo had a solid BJJ game way before he was the "10th planet guy with that rubber guard" that everyone seems to think of him as. Jean Jacques Machado doesn't just hand out BJJ black belts to chumps. EDDIE BRAVO BEAT ROYLER GRACIE TO EARN HIS BLACK BELT. Using his 10th Planet system! You can find the move sequence he used in his book even if you learn how to use the book! JAILBREAK to BUTTERFLY GUARD to PYRAMID to TRIANGLE CHOKE.

  • @scguitarist107 you need to settle down buddy i didnt say you coulnt suck eddies dick. i just said he is overrated. if eddie is so good, then how come(besides royler) he has no other notable vitories. like i didnt know he beat royler. i used to be so in to eddie then my coach( a direct black belt of rigan machado) had me take a close look. you obvously dont train or if you do you and you friends learn off youtube.you would know the difference, but you dont.thats the end of it kid

  • @RDbushi you werent that into eddie and obviously don't know what your talking about when it come to the 10th planet if you didn't know you he beat Royler Gracie. May I remind you he is the only American to ever tap a gracie in competition. If you ever been to a seminar with Eddie you would see he has a ton of great BJJ based No-gi moves (clinching replaced controlling gi) along with his crazy rubber guard system. I believe you are the one who learned rubber guard / 10th planet off of youtube.

  • @RDbushi This dude probably got tapped by a 10th planet player and is mad! hahaha

  • @RDbushi stick with the Alliance bro. Gracies are nothing these days.
