This time signature conversation is ridiculous, but it sounds to me like 6/8 and 10/8 alternating. If that really matters to anyone. Also it's not anything new, and if you add that up you get 16/8, meaning it could be read as 4/4 with just an emphasis on 1 and the and of 2. Pretty basic beat here, APC doesn't really do anything innovative with time signatures, if you care about that listen to tool.
Bottom line is it is definitely NOT in 3/4 or 6/8, you're leaving out 4 perfectly good 8th notes.

@cloud0123 This is what I love about Maynard's song writing. I never once thought of it as having that meaning. I always felt like it described the situation where you love someone and do things to get noticed and hope they feel the same way about you but all they see is you being nice to them. And in the end, this person you thought was pretty amazing had nothing going on up top.
I guess Maynard's songs are more like Rorshach tests than actual messages.

this song is so beautiful. a lot of emotion. i always get the feeling of desperation, loneliness, and utter sadness when i listen to this song. maybe its just me. even still, the first time i heard 3 libras i cried. apc is a truly remarkable band, and while tool and ashes divide are great bands in their own right, no band out there can hold a candle to apc.

This time signature conversation is ridiculous, but it sounds to me like 6/8 and 10/8 alternating. If that really matters to anyone. Also it's not anything new, and if you add that up you get 16/8, meaning it could be read as 4/4 with just an emphasis on 1 and the and of 2. Pretty basic beat here, APC doesn't really do anything innovative with time signatures, if you care about that listen to tool.
Bottom line is it is definitely NOT in 3/4 or 6/8, you're leaving out 4 perfectly good 8th notes.
