  • I went to prom in 1980 and I'm anything but an old lady ;-) I was really lucky [though I didn't see it that way then], my Mother went with me to pick out my dress, and she talked me into getting a simple [ie..elegant] dress with a clean line and it's never really gone out of style.

    I still have it :-) Can I still fit into it? :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

  • I swear to god my sewing machine hates me, is there any way to "sew" without actually sewing?

  • u guys are right by mars 2112

  • 6:39

    i love it

    lol

    doritos...

  • Comment removed

  • i really like the 80 dress do u have any more dress? I am 16 and i am trying to save up m money. plss help me <3

  • maybe make the bottom of the dress into a skirt...

  • no prom in England! man! I wanted to make my own prom dress!!!

  • I would've totally worn the 80's dress to prom, though i would've chopped the sleeve... things off first.

  • I like the old dress better.

  • can u guys possibly show how to make a vintage sundress??? thanks a million.

  • how do you make a real top quality LOOKING top hat

  • Step one-kill a beaver. Step two-find some mercury... Jk :P

  • I like the dress! the black and white looks really good together.

This is pretty useful because my school announced that we're having a summer prom :/ gonna be pretty interesting lol.

  • i like the dress before... it just needed the sleeves cut off and i would have worn it anyday!

  • same!

  • Pfft I would have left it exactly how it was. lol

  • boneing is expensave (good boneing anyway) so save that stuff!!!

I make corsets, its so easy and I get a lagitamate excuse to pay VERY close atention to boobies.

  • I'd take the dress at the beginning!!

  • That Doritos Tube Top was AWESOME I need to know who made that.

  • man i gotta do that-walk down the street in a prom dress.

  • i liked that dress

  • Wow! That dress is hot!

  • Corrine is so hot.

  • are you retarded? Why would you post a lame ass chain message?

  • i love what she did with that fugly dress

  • The only thing I would change: I would make straps, so that I could wear it with a bra.

Oh, and I would also not wear the neck thingy.

    But it was really pretty

  • @toodaloos93 or u could get a straples bra...........

  • I don't know what I am going to do with my dresses from back in 91 and 92. I have 4 of them. Make them into today's style would still be useless for me as I am too old for a prom. I thought maybe I could make a clutch out of one of them. I got my scissors out and just couldn't do it. I could not make myself cut my dress up. I wished mom would have let my SIL make costumes for her kids out of them. It would have made things easier. lol

  • you could donate them to a vintage shop - i guarantee some teenaged girl will think your dresses are the best things ever!

  • Do you guys have any tips for making elbow length gloves? Preferably not the fingerless type. Thanks!

  • wht does "DIY" stand for?

  • Do it yourself XD

  • ooo lol, i feel really stupid at the moment

    haha

  • that neck thing was realy (ugly)

  • i would have just cut the the ruffels and ruffel sleve's

  • WOW! but I would have worn the dress like it was with maybe doing something to the sleeves lol

  • ??? i like the original dress!

  • So did I. better than the re-vamped one.

  • can you make a corset tutorial??? please!!!!!!!

  • They had an episode about making corsets awhile back. I know it was some Valentines day one. And they mentioned it in the Steampunk tutorial.

  • ummm..couldnt u jus buy FUSIBLE INTERFACING. thats better than actuall sewin them together..

  • bow ties are cute ;D

  • Why wouldn't you put the interfacing in BEFORE you sewed the two pieces togetether..?

  • Ok.. here's a hint... for the guys bow tie...

Fold the fabric right sides together and cut out two at once...

THEN take the interfacing and stick that on top of the material you have...So you sew all three together at once...

Then turn inside out, so the right sides of the fabric is on the outside and the interfacing is inside.

    This saves SOOO much time

  • THOSE TIGHTS ARE HOTT!

  • i was disappointed by Andy's prom dress in pretty in pink...she could have done better -_-

  • i agree!

    still love the movie, though.

    but i think that everytime.

  • I didn't actually think the old dress was that bad =X

  • lol a paper corsage

  • That bow tie how-to is freakin awesome!!!! Don't leave us guys out. We're here too.

The ones that ya'll do do are awesome, but I just want more. Thanks!

  • creepy, she looks exactly like my cousin.. how cool is that..

  • its sad in england- first the rain and then no proms - unless your in like year 11

  • ^^ Yay for year 11 prom!!!!

  • lol im sure there not even called proms in england.... in Australia there called "leavers dinners" and there shit! totally over rated

  • wow amazing

  • I live in England and i'm having a Prom :)

  • You guys should do a segment on how to change a bridesmaid dress into something more wearable. I actually have a few bridesmaid dresses, and they're just taking space in my already filled up closet. Great show by the way. I LOVE it! :D

  • luv luv luv da dress!!!

    ima try it!!

  • haha!! "i wasnt asked."

  • SWEEEEEEEET I LOVE IT

  • I'm so glad you guys mentioned the stuck at prom duck tape prom dress contest. I did it this year and ended up winning 2nd place! It was so much fun, but a lot of work and really time consuming. I think it would be a great idea if you guys did an episode on duct tape clothes and accessories. I'd love to see what you guys come up with!

  • really? where can i see the dress?:)

  • I want to go to my grandmother's attic 8)

  • amazing! i have an old prom dress! now ill start working on it!

  • how do u like iron the hem down??

  • This just helped me figure out how to make my halloween costume... I was going to ask how to make a tutu lol.

  • The only problem I saw with the dress before was the horrid scrunchie sleaves

  • I like that neck piece on the revised dress.

  • It's true, we used to not have proms in England.

However, we do now, for some stupid Godless reason.

  • i ♥ Madeline Merced's show on WyethDigital

  • england does have proms.

  • well they didnt twenty years ago it got exported recently i mean im having mine this week but most people over twenty didnt have one

  • yes they did but they didnt call it proms some people still dont. its usally referd to as end of year ball.

  • Bollocks, we didn't have proms till recently.

  • I love the 80's dress more. It has an egde you don't see anymore.

  • I know...i mean sans the sleeves of the starting dress (and the boring color) i LOVED that dress...but the new dress is is cute too...

  • heart, i guess ur amazed with the patches of the old one... hmmmf??? u can add it to the new one too... depends on your taste... ;)

  • i loved the skirt part the way it was.

  • lol. i wasnt asked.

  • i love both :D the before and after dress....lol :D

  • omg I love the dress ^^ it's so amazing

  • I THINK HE 80S DRESS IS COOL AS IS

  • I liked the dress before :(

  • It doesn't have to be fancy...solid colors would be fine, thanks for your time, and thanks if you decide to make one

  • kimono kimono kimono kimono kimono kimono!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tho they'd be super hard to make, since..like it all embroidered and beautiful

  • We've received several requests for this. We're looking into it!

  • Can you do a video on how to make a japanese

kimono?(like the one tom cruise wears in the last samurai)

  • Yeah,, Do That!!

  • ive been think ing of making one recently, weird you said that.

  • That would be awesome!!!! I'd TOTALLY make one!!

Awesome tutorial, by the way! Thanks!

  • here's a great idea: DIY HEELS! nobody wants to wear ugly heels to prom, but sometimes you can't find ones that look good with your dress. Let's see what you can come up with <3

  • cuz u kno all the guys got was a TIE! the girls got a dress!!!

  • yeah, but that's because pants are really hard to make, and so are jackets. the girl dress was just a tube too corset and the skirt was a circular piece of fabric. when you go into attaching sleeves and making legs for things it gets really complicated.

  • i like the dress... but u need 2 make sme tips 4 guys! most of its for girls, babys, and dogs! if you could make some rely cool mixed up clothse 4 guys that would be awesome!!!!

  • well I'm to OLD for prom but I plan on going on a cruise I could use that for formal night! Thanks again!

The bow tie looked like it took awhile??are they worth making or should I just buy them ??

  • A tip: Instead of cutting out each same template separately--- fold the fabric, pin down the template, then cut off. You'll get two same fabric pieces in one cut.

  • at 4.00 its a scottish prom, all the boys are wearing kilts!

  • there are proms in england scotland and wales too! sometimes they are called proms but ours was called a "senior ball" as it was for senior students

  • there are proms everywhere!! (i guess)

    even here in Latin America.

  • Man, the one thing that always got me about pretty in pink is how much better her dress looked before she wrecked it. Not a fan of corsets and tutus.

  • haha her dress did look way better before . . . i think its cos the one she makes is soooo stylized to the year she made it . . . that crazy neck part always gets me!

    x

  • Am I the only one who like her original? lol.

But the dyi version was okay . . . it was more like recycling material than a recontruction.

  • I think the original dress would have been better if you cut off the sleeves and the skirt, and then sewn on more material on the bottom to make it long, because that pattern on the front was really beautiful. That's just my opinion, however...

  • Wouldnt the boneing break the needle?

  • no because sewing machines are stronger than you think

  • i agree i liked the original dress better

  • very gothic i like it

  • Awesomeness!

I was just wondering last night how to make a.. tutu/dress thing... and there it is!

    I'm so lucky. :-j

  • Clever and creative.

  • hey ThreadBanger i love your vids and would love to do lots of the stuf in them but i dont have a sowing machine ( cry cry sob sob break downin tears). can you do a vid on men's fashion that dosent involve a sowing machine . plezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

and just a masive hello from your bigest fan in irland. i have an idea y dont you do an an ep on irish style clothes and accesories. that would rock and would be a big help to all thes irish americans out there . see ya xooxoxoxoxxoxoxooxox

  • Thanks for the suggestion, we'll look into it.

  • Yeah, I kinda agree. Looks a lot worse.

  • yea i liked the original dress more also

  • love the show, but....the yellow scrolling ticker at the bottom is pretty irritating, and besides--it scrolls so fast that I think the people who would care about it probably wouldn't be able to keep up with it. Could you maybe find somewhere else to put these messages? Like, after the credits or something?

  • Hi, i was just wondering if you could do a video on some really neat and snazzy men's vests.

    -luke.

  • i liked the dress she had on in the beginning too...in fact i would wear it to prom ha

  • Me, too. But, then, I really like 80's style.

  • I actually liked the original dress,

I would loved to have worn that to my prom!

  • I really loved the dress you had in the beginning before you remodeled it

  • it's so great that you're doing this, because prom dresses can be so expensive, and it's hard to find ones that are cute and original. at my old school, there were always a bunch of girls wearing the same dresses.....not cool. keep up the good work!

  • The dress she was wearing is awsome!

  • prom is so over exaggerated. Really, like its one of the least important events of ur life! - Dadi Jaan

  • THERE IS TOO PROM IN ENGLAND! :'(

We're just not all gay about it.

  • LMAO! hey i wasnt all gay about it either, but all my friends were. :\

    trudat

  • Wow, I wish you're guys were there giving tips for my junior prom, that was a disaster in the making.

  • Why cut out two separate bowtie pieces? You can just fold the fabric in half and then cut it out...

  • more sturdy i guess

  • i loved loved that dress with the weird neck/shawl and tights! awesome corinne.

  • wow those clothes made out of duct tape were crazy!! i wonder how many hrs that took..

  • 'Boneage'??

  • Lawl Rob looks like Abe Lincoln at the start

  • That was really good, I'm gonna have to remember the bow tie!

    Nice Dress too!

  • w00t! cool. personally, I hated prom. Waste of money. That tie was REALLY complicated, man.

  • Whaaatddd??? NO WAY!
