  • Blind faith = killing free thinking

  • I know it show very little to argue, and may not make a big statement, yet that is what blind faith is; the killing of free thinking, which produces people to be gullible enough to believe others into almost anything. Sorry I may be out of bound on this by bringing this oustide topic. Carry on.

  • "He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich."

I don't think that this scripture has anything to say about the morality of loving wine and oil. It's simply basic financial advice. If you spend, you don't save. You'll find something similar, better phrased, expressed by Mr Micawber in David Copperfield.

  • not ALL herbal medicine is evil and that should really be made clear. the chinese have gotten it down to a science: a CONTROLLED form. people just gotta do their homework before believing in EVERYONE and EVERYTHING, thats all.

got everything else right. good job once again!

  • Sorry to disagree, but chinese medicine doesn't exactly have the best track record either.

  • other forms of herbal medicine has killed the credibility of chinese medicine over the years. the chinese has had a GREAT track record for their form of medication lasting over thousands of years. it was only the recent decades that the asian race has resorted to modern medicine but for the thousands of years before, they have had only their leaves and boiling water to survive.

  • many books (some as sacred as "religious texts") involve makings & effects of herbal med down to a science. modern scietists today agree that ("in some werid way") they work, like acupuncture (unless you think thats bull too). the wonders of Green Tea; cant deny that it isnt healthy when done correctly. but, it all depends on which fraud people are willing to go to, to save money. at this day and age, everything is corrupt so yeah, most "herbal meds" are prob fake.

  • Damg, Imrational, that brown hat suits you. Like this series a lot. Thanks.

Creepy Christians. Think a new dance should make the rounds: The Creepy Christian Crawl (where creepy Christians crawl on their bellies begging love and forgiveness from their creepy God). Anyway, rock on.

  • "this once again *proves* that christians don't read the bible"

    what the fuck hahaha

    retarded

  • im not christian im catholic

  • Chauncy, Chauncy, Chauncy. If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times, even the drunken catholics are followers of yours truly. It's the same thing yo. Now for your penance, you should probably do like a hundred hails to my mom...you know her name.

  • Also, using religion to dupe people and then ceremoniously dismissing Christianity is akin to citing 'gun' crimes and then saying guns are bad. My fork can skewer a green bean or your brain.

  • pairunoyd,

so please give some beneficial examples of things that christianity provides that can't be received in a secular society. Maybe that might make it a little harder to dismiss.

  • Are you asking me why can't goodness be done w/o Christianity?

  • I'm asking what christianity provides that beneficial to humanity that a non-religious society can't provide. I would say that religions (i.e. christianity) provides nothing beneficial that can't be received in a non-religious society.

  • I see your point, imrational, when it comes to religions.

  • "how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!" This was addressing riches as good works. Good works can't get you to heaven, only the FREE gift. You can take any phrase out of context and make it what you want. I could post all sorts of absurdities from all the books of our time. Youre not honestly trying to understand.

  • Did you watch my first video? The entire Bible can be taken a myriad of ways. The basic premise of the New Testament is utterly insane. Why would a loving father come up with a plan that requires his son be tortured and killed to allow him to forgive the descendents of people he cursed over 4,000 years ago?

  • didnt Jesus do it voluntarily? Yea, I totally see the 'insanity' of it from my/your perspective. I'm a man like you. I see this stuff too. I'd rather see someone seek answers than be apathetic.

  • Why do you think after the 'camel...eye of needle' comment disciples said amongt themselves, "Who then can be saved?" Those that dont understand the Word assume from the camel comment that heaven is for poor folk. The disciples are obviously implying, "If the rich 'can't be saved' then surely we can't!"

  • Job found GREAT favor in God's eyes and was his most dedicated servant. In the end, God heaped MASSIVE amounts of riches upon Job. So did God want to see Job go to hell? I still want to know what you mean by rich. 100K/yr? 1 mill per yr? 1 billion? 100 dollars? barefoot? sandals? pinto or BMW???

  • P.S. Im a hardcore free-marketer as well. Who you voting for in the presidential race? What you think about getting the message out that the net result of universal healthcare for kids = more sick and dying kids? Doesnt usurpation of free man's profits result in a poorer nation/people? We should plainly illustrate this FACT for the non-political, uniterested Joe Six-Packs out there!

  • I'm going for Ron Paul, but I still have reservations.

I agree that socialized medicine is not a cure. Unfortunately, it is a better system than our current, failing, one.

Personally, I think we should remove some of the state protective legislation enjoyed by healthcare workers (like doctors) and open it up to competition.

  • when you put a cost on life, money will trump it every time.

competition in medicine? theres already supposedly more patients then doctors in many places. and many hospitals have trouble keeping open. theres plenty of room for competition. how is the government keeping doctors from competing? never heard of state controlled monopolies for doctors before

  • Waltermh111,

Every state has practice acts for nurses, doctors, etc. So, it is illegal for a nurse to do things that doctors are allowed, etc. That's why private citizens can't just order their own MRI or x-ray. I say, remove the practice acts. If you want to order your own labs, do it. If you want a quality opinion, you'll pay for a doctor... otherwise, pay a lesser trained person or read it yourself.

  • i can go for that.

i believe that i understand the point of the law, but since i assume you do too, i will take your word that its benefit is worse then its consequences.

  • waltermh111,

It's a trade off. There would be heavy consequences. No system is perfect and this one would be brutal at first. However, I think that such a system would be best in the long-term.

  • I agree 100%! I also think we should be able to take any drug we want. Theres no reason free enterprise cant police itself. The FDA costs endless numbers of deaths due to its strict standards. But you cant see these deaths as readily as the deaths by bad drugs. 'No drug' deaths.

  • what do you mean, 'a cost on human life'? Are you saying my life should be sacrificed for people you think deserve to be in better health?

  • pairunoyd,

If your comment was meant for me, what I meant was that freedom has costs inherent with it. If people are given the freedom to prescribe their own drugs, they will run the risk of things like overdose, prescribing the wrong medication, etc.

  • "camel...eye of a needle. I.e., it is impossible. Jesus is underscoring the impossiblity of anyone's being saved by merit. Since wealth was deemed proof of God's approval and those who had it could give more alms, it was commonly thought that rich people

  • were the most likely candidates for heaven (see Mark 10:25). Jesus destroys that notion and, along w/ it, the notion that anyone can merit enough divine favor to gain entrance into heaven. Salvation is only possbile thru divine grace. (MacArthur Bible Commentary)

  • youre a smart guy and im sure you can debate well. i dont have that gift. but i also believe your study is very in-depth. try googling "should christians be poor." Theres a ton of powerful, IN-DEPTH material out there that is strongly persuasive. but like i said, i like your 'thought prompts'. I admire your zeal. ;)

  • meant to say: but i also believe your study is NOT very in-depth.

  • yea, being rich is really bad. i mean, it leads to all sort of cures, technologies. Also, arent the Amish Christian? How poor should Christians be? Poverty 2,000 yrs ago was alot worse than now. In fact, arent low class Americans in many ways richer than the kings of centuries ago? Is a 800 sq ft home better than a 810 sq ft home???

  • Well if you ask the Bible, like most other issues it either contradicts itself or is not clear at all on what exactlly it means ;p

But I think the reverend who is featured in this video would fall under the category of excessively rich and anything but average or poor ;p

Another thing, I'm guessing his house is much larger then the 810 sq ft lol

  • So where does 'rich' begin? People of the bible thought that the rich were the most likely to get into heaven cause theyd been rewarded w/ riches on earth and could do many good works.

  • so is it a 811 sq ft home? Is his house 5,000 sq ft? So 4,999 is ok? what about 4,999.999??? Does two pieces of bread w/ my rice gravy make me rich? I see poor robbers on tv. I see good rich men on tv. Who is 'rich'?

  • who is rich?

I guess you'll have to ask your god. I was quoting from the bible.

  • why would you quote it if you dont know what it means?

  • When a "man of God" uses church money to live an extravagant life while children starve and diseases remain without a cure... that's the kind of rich man your god despises. If you think this is okay, then I'm going to say that not only do you not read your bible but you are not a Christian... as Christian is "Christ-like" and I don't ever remember hearing about him living in a gold plated mansion...

  • Personally, I don't think that being rich is bad. I'm a Libertarian and think that the free-market is great! I'm all for being rich for those that can and choose to be.

I'm fairly non-materialistic, but I recognize the value of money.

However, the bible does have some quotes (as shown in my vid) about being rich, which I provided.

  • Agreed, and you couldn't have said it better..

"I guess you'll have to ask your god. I was quoting from the bible."

This is exactlly dead-on. Your god said it, so ask him, not us. lol

  • i like a LOT of your stuff, but...I'm a Christian and theres NO doubt in my mind about my beliefs. I know this will give you ammo and it's meaningless drivel, but...Man I would HATE to be in you about 100 yrs from now. YIKES!!!

  • I have absolutely no argument at all with your comment on herbal medicine. This happens a lot. It's very important to trace the source of a remedy and in any case, a responsible person should source them locally.

As you know, i'm a herbalist.

  • DragonDamien,

And I've actually been England. Walked from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay (Alfred Wainwright's Coast to Coast Trail). Got to London the day of the Olympic Celebration (missed the Muslim bombing by 9 hours).

Loved your canned veggie curry, your tea & tea biscuits... hated your British bar food and the weird hours on your post offices. ;)

  • Somebody likes the BBC :) Why not give our little country a visit? We may not have muffins, but we have tea!

I haven't really anything to say...I like the whole thing, regularly checking youtube for your vids, as the email update sucks.

Your greenscreen effect could use some work though. Thought of investing in some green paint or paper?

  • Yeah, I'm using a bluescreen (it was free). It could probably work better, but I've got crappy lighting. I'm renting a temporary apartment right now, so I don't want to invest in anything.

  • I've always wondered why they switched from blue screens to green...

  • If I put up more lights, the blue screen would probably work fine.

  • I've seen a camel going through a needle. So ti's possible. It was a camel "painted" on hair but nonetheless... bible is open to interpretation. And who can interpret it flawless be the one who cast the first stone :)

  • Are you endorsing the creating of religious loopholes?

  • There are no loopholes in my ironic statement ;) :)

  • Ok, sorry about that. It's hard to pick up elements of style in these short posts. That, and I haven't had my caffeine yet.

  • Wow. Thanks for telling about the herbal supplements. I have to tell this to some people I know that may be going to the doctor.

  • A YTer tried to insult me by saying I sound like the a group of scientists that try to debunk herbal medicines. I was like.. Thank you, thank you so much. What a great compliment.

    Great work sir!

  • lol, didn't anyone wonder why they had to go to africa for this miracle baby?

  • alienjesus2012,

"lol, didn't anyone wonder why they had to go to africa for this miracle baby?"

I wondered the same thing. I think he would take them down there to "pray" on retreats and coincidentally, the spirit would move him and they would produce the "miracle".

  • I also wondered why no one was suspicious that every miracle baby was african... or at least wondered why they were all black. I didn't think god played race favorites...

  • From their church website, it looks like their congregation was mostly black and they probably didn't give any "miracle babies" to the white ones.

  • I figured as much.

And as soon as i posted that i was like 'oh yea i forgot, god DOES play race favorites."

the jews are his chosen people. everyone else is just an asshole : )

  • I'm loving the hat.

  • Blind faith scares me so much. My husband says not to worry, we're winning. Still, I find it hard to believe that when the fanatics are soooo loud. Are my children safe? I don't know why I'm worried since everyone I know is an atheist. But still...

  • i like your hat

  • Then there was the Heaven's gate people

  • "Dog shit is all natural..."

  • My brother-in-law subscribes to prosperity gospel. A few years ago he gave my husband (his brother) a bible that had several passages highlighted that pointed to prayer as a means to material gain. I'll see if we still have that book, and send you info on the chapters/verses if you'd like. It kind of showed me that you can justify nearly anything with the bible.

  • It only makes sense. If a religion excludes certain segments of society, then it runs the risk of a different religion scooping up those potential followers. It's all about competition and natural selection.

I'm expecting to see more religions allowing for the inclusion of homosexuals.

  • Faith makes me sick.

  • Very interesting, imrational.

I didn't know about the stories from the UK. It does worry me that in London, especially, there seems to be a decent number (still a tiny fraction, admittedly) of churchgoers and congregations, and especially new evangelical movements. There are several reasons for that, though. The level of immigration (which I support) being one.

I won't complain, though. This country is only going one way. It would be nice if we were as far as Sweden - 85% unbelievers.

  • Very interesting. Based on the commericals, I'd thought those "male enhancement" drugs were about enlarging the penis, not strengthening erections. I guess I misunderstood. In any case, how vile that they've been giving people prescription drugs without the controls that comes along with prescriptions.

  • i can understand the parents taking the baby on blind faith. their infertile, have been trying for years and this man makes a baby appear from what to them seems to be thin air and says god gave it to them. (if i was in their position i think like alot of you i would believe that, my skepticism would of been put at the back of my mind because i saw a baby that i have been wanting for years. shame to the preacher

  • (not just for stealing but for also lying and giving these people a false reality)[atheist joke: hes always done that, but most times its on a sunday]

  • Dammit ZZ,

    You're taking our punchlines!!! ;)

  • Go imrational!

  • interesting segway.

What does penis enhancement have to do with church corruption?

Will reading the bible make my penis bigger?

  • Freethought is a philosophy devoid of superstition. It relies on logic and rational thought. i.e. the news stories on my "Freethought News" are ones that apply to rational thought... and are not limited to religion.

  • I like my theory better. don't confuse me with reality *laugh*

  • I bet that preacher saw alot of vaginas.

I should perhaps go into the religious business, robbing from All and giving it to myself :D

  • I want my penis to get bigger though..

    NO HOPE, NO HOPE!

  • wow, all the atheists are smart people

    U ROCK!
