yeah it changed all right. but over hundreds of thousands of years. Does changing it in 250 years make the equation different. can a gentle stream cause the same amount of damage as a flood? What about the deforestation. When the climate gets warmer, vegetation starts to flourish and absorb more CO2 over thousands of years, this reverses the cycle. People who have doubts about climate change are NOT stupid. They are just in denial. It is the nature of our mind to fight and defend against an idea that requires the mind to change. The greater the change required the less the mind will be willing to change. I know because after researching global warming, peak oil and the monetary system, I have changed completely. Also I don't know if you actually don't believe in it or you are a conservative and hence against carbon taxes, especially one of this magnitude and influence. I am just an engineering student so I do not know of the extent to which global cooling was actually studied and debated by scientist back then. I have watched a documentary and I cannot with 100% surety tell you what caused this, however there are some possible reasons. I think the most likely is due to the sudden drop in oil consumption. YES! you heard it right. The exotic particles we release into the air actually act as a shield by reflecting the heat from the sun back into space.

That's the thing, this cooling event was a blip that happened to coincide with two important events that affect the atmosphere, an oil embargo and increased use of Cloro-flouro carbons. The cooling wasn't long enough to represent a steady trend, nor is there a good reason for it, unlike global warming which has been studied since the late 1960s.
