  • To everyone who is saying to let go of the reins... thats not exactly what your thinking when your headed to the floor, it more of an o shit! o shit! moment where your thinking that you can maybe stay on

  • I used to ride a horse named Jersey!

  • I know letting go of the reins isn't the first thing on your mind when falling, but just remember that if your holding the reins when you fall, and the horse takes off for whatever reason, you could dislocate your shoulder and hurt your horse's mouth.

  • You are supposed to let go of the reins when you fall. You could get stepped on.

  • Well like everyone is saying, yeah you shouldn't hold the reins. But I completely understand that at a moment like that, letting go of the reins isn't the first thing you would be thinking. It would probably be more like: Holy crap I'm falling! lol

  • hahahahaha oh my gosh, I remember this.

  • just some advice dont hold on to the horse as he may kik out i hate falling off are you ok? :]

  • o u ok

  • dnt hold on the reins when u fall do u want ur horse hurt

  • i really want a fall on camera, havent got any of mine! hahaha!

tbh, i would rather keep hold of the reins than let go, especially if i was in an open space with roads about. i know your not supposed to and if the horse is freaking then fair enough, just release. but i'd rather my horse didn't get even more injured hooling around a field with reins flying. :L

  • could i use this please?

  • Oooo r u ok that must of hurt !!!

  • ahah !

that looked like it hurt ! i hope your okay !

can i use this in a horse fallls video ?

    ill give you credit !

  • thats why I am waring a protector

  • Graceful. Dramatic.

  • Heels Down!!! If You Kept Your Heels Down This May Not Have Been Your First Fall!! :1

  • @hunthorserider11 You can't even see that you idiot! The horse refused quite badly. She wasn't ready for it so she came off. Had nothing to do with her heels!

  • @hunthorserider11 She didn't do anything wrong sweetie (:

  • Can i use this? (:

  • can i use this? i will cred u

  • :P haha!

  • i thought ur not supposto hold on 2 the reins.

  • @toffeeteriffic21 Thats not really something you remember mid-fall XD

  • @toffeeteriffic21 your not just some people dont have time to think about what they are doing when they fall. hahaha one time i had this weird look on my face and didnt even know it

  • @Logandstump1287779 haha ya! i understand. usually oi just let myself fall! haha ig that wasnt ur fau;lt cause u know what the right thing 2 do is hahaha

  • @toffeeteriffic21 Your not.!! haha lol

  • @toffeeteriffic21 Exactly lol

  • @toffeeteriffic21 she wouldn't of been thinking of that when your hanging half off a horse!

I've done almost the same thing and feel for you with landing on the jump cups. I was thrown off my horse onto a jump and cut my back up by the cup and still have bruises/scar from it :(

  • @HorseLover3111 i didnt mean it in a bad way. i was just stating a fact.im sorry if i upset any1 its jussst...... sorry but i get what ur saying.

  • @toffeeteriffic21 you can hold to your reins untilkyou hit the ground, it will flip you over and land you on your back, instead of your head.

  • @horselover12122323 well idk i learned that u let go of the reins and take the fall no matter what. ive fallen so many times that ik what the feelings are. and i agree that u wouldnt wanna hit ur head but wearing a helmet would prevent that.

  • @toffeeteriffic21 it wouldn't prevent you from hitting your head the helmet will just get most of the shock. Its better to hold on and bruise you horses mouth because that is perfectly fixable and a mistake then landing on your head and causing bran damage, now if that personal opinion then i completely respect that.

  • @horselover12122323 yah it sorta is. i think that in this situation u would either fall on ur head or like fly forward/ but ya idk its just what i learned 2 do.

  • @toffeeteriffic21 yeah i agree but sometimes its your instinct saying HOLD ON TO SOMETHING! and your horse knowledge telling you to DROP THE REINS! its just a matter of which one your body thinks is best! lol!

  • @HorsieGal321 i agree actually. but i just idk haha thats what i think

  • @toffeeteriffic21 your not ment to but when u fall off its just like it....its screaming HOLD ONNNN!! lol

  • I manged to land on my knees the first time i fell of every one laghued and it was in canter ( i think!)

  • @loveSAVEtheEMPTY Yea, I get that... I've had plenty of falls and four or five almost fatal accidents. But in all of my accidents holding onto the reins wasn't what caused anything; most times it helped.

Plus, it's dangerous for a tacked up horse to be on the loose.

Take it from someone who's doing work-experience as a horse trainer and a vet.

  • @loveSAVEtheEMPTY I don't wanna sound rude, I mean everyone has their own way of riding and so forth. It's just that I taught myself to ride since I was five and like I said...everyone has their own way of riding. So I appreciate your opinion but I just don't like people telling me what's "supposed" to happen because when i ride a horse, I trust it because every mistake the horse makes is my fault.Yes it could be dangerous but if you trust the horse, you know if it's gunna bolt or not.

  • (3 Ouch. Are u alright??? Good job holding onto the reins afterwards, alot of people don't really think of that. (3

  • You should have putted it up in slowmotion^^

  • omg u ok?

  • press 1 over and over, humping the horse XD

  • That looks like it hurt!!!

  • HAHA PRESS 3 OVER AND OVER ITS SO FUNNY

  • can i use this i will give u credit

  • HAHA!!

  • can i use this in My Falls Video ? i will credit you :)

  • omg are u ok!?

  • May I use this?

  • O my gosh! That looks so scary, he was in a panic for a while before he finally got away from the jump! You held on well, though, hopefully it didn't hurt to bad! May I use this in a falls video? (Of course you would get credit!)

  • omg!hilarious!but scary 2...i hate fallin off!

  • hahahahaha face.. meet... POLE!!!! hahaha i love this

  • One of my first times jumping I got my position all wrong and my leg went straight back. It was only about 40cm, but I flipped right over the horses head. I got on and went round to do the jump again and I did the exact same thing but my back landed full force on the pole :/ I got on again but I was in a lot of pain...I've learned my lesson! :L The horse was amazing though, he stood really still and calm :)

  • omg did ur face slam into the pole? ouch lol if it was a highr horse u coulda done a full flip jk idk ow it looked painful

  • omg o:

  • May I use this? I will give you credit and the link

  • can i plz use ur video i will give u credit

  • when you get caught off guard, you usually don't think, "i better let go of these reins." i know that's what you're supposed to do but usually you try to stay on.

  • aww! ouch!

  • @Teresa451128 agreed.

  • Typically it's nice to let go. (:

  • @Teresa451128 she did let go of the reins

  • Ow! Were you ok? That looked like it hurt

  • @sugarplumhorse Yes but she wouldn't automatically think "I need to just jump off now", the way humans have survived and evolved is our natural instinct to stop somehitng bad from happening if we can! It all happened within the space of about a second, that's not enough time to think about what you need to do, and do it. And no, I'm not a 'smarty', I know I'm no expert with horses but due to the fact that I've been riding for under a year, I know a lot for my level of experience.

  • @sugarplumhorse she is not an idoit she tried very hard!

  • If only Christopher Reeve had your reflexes...

  • Oh that was horrible dear! I'm sorry :( Glad you're okay!

  • @sugarplumhorse Yes I agree, no one could have prevented that fall. But the girl tried. It's only natural, it's an instinct. Like if you trip over, you put your hands out in front of you. Same principle. And I don't give a damn if the horse was struggling, I'd be scared too if some girl was randomly sliding down my neck after I'd refused a jump.

  • @sugarplumhorse What are you talking about. If you can prevent falling off, you do. She's done nothing wrong, excuse her for trying not to faceplant into a few massive poled of cold hard plastic. You can sit on a horse's neck for a short amount of time, they can take it, but not for long. If I'm honest, that was a pretty bad fall, and her FIRST fall, so I wouldn't be thinking "What do I do", I'd be thinking "Oh shit I'm going to die". And don't say "no offense" and then insult someone!

  • Ouchh, looks like you hit your face on the jump. Also, let go of the reins! You can see you're in a fenced off place so someone can catch the horse but that way you wont get dragged off or reared with...

  • ouvh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg that looks like you were hurt! i hope youree okay!

  • omg failllllllllllll

  • can i use for my 200 subbers fail video? :)

  • can ii use this i will credit you and send you the link when done?

  • Not to be rude.. but when your bucked of reared of just falling off of a horse.. you should keep holding the reins.. just let go.. 1. it hurts the horses mouth. 2. you could get seriously injured of have your shoulder poped out of its joint.. its happened to me. Next time just drop the reins and let the horse go.

  • @vivienleigh1097 thank you! finally someone understands what im talking about

  • wow that looked like that hurt!!

  • lol that must of been a tad embarrassing!

  • Sometimes in competitions and shows, you have to keep hold of the reins so your horse cant run away, i think you did really well there... that was a bad wee fall "/

  • ouch! hope you were okay? :)

please can i use this? i will give you full credit! x

  • ive definitely done this once or twice! haha

  • Shut up about the reins! She just fell really bad!

The first thing you think about when you fall like that is not to let go of the reins x)

I hope both u and the horse are ok :)

  • nearly recovered!

  • your gonna hurt your horse if you hold on to the reins!! dummy!!!

  • ouch!! tht rlly hurts

can u pu this as a videp response to my video Mashup of Your Horse Falls and message it to me?

its kk if u dont wanna

  • yo guys, we all fall, and this thing about the reins it wouldnt of hurt the horse it would have been pulling on its poll. so leave out with the ''hurting the horse'' ive seen much much worse, never let go in an outdoor school ive seen horses jump out and bugger off.

well done for your reaction, at least you didnt loose your temper :) ive yet to be filmed falling off! only got vids of refusals!

  • @beyergal221 . i dont know about you but i would rather hurt myslef then my horse! by pulling on the reins like that you could ingure the horse. i dont care about the bridle but the horse

  • @megloveshorses thats what i have bein trying 2 say all along. thank you 4 posting this comment. now maybe people will get off of my back

  • @Tango8Balin3 why did you posted the video if you don't want to be judged?? that's a lil dumb, don't you think? :)

  • the person saying oh my god says it so funny me and my cous were LOLING!!! oh and that must have been a nasty and hard fall!! advice don't hold on to the reins!!

  • It looks painful...

  • Buwhahhahaha!

  • omg! what a fall!

    where you ok?

    oh i'm so sorry!

  • wow nice fall looked worst then it was i hope...

  • did it hurts? :O

  • @MrFruktiis of course it hurt dummy!!!

  • holly crap!! were u ok!!! ouch!! :'(

  • @megloveshorses Oh no I know, i have had plenty of expericence with bit problems. But i am pretty sure that she wasn't going to think, ok, let go of the reins! She was prob. thinking, HOLY CRAP! I know i would, but your right at first i wasn't thinking of that! But don't worry i know. :) But thanks for reminding me!

  • i totaly know what you mean by driving her with the back of your seat my gelding is the same way glad you guys were ok!!! :D

  • Haha

  • Omg!!!

  • OMG that looks like it hurts! Well at least you got up like right away!

  • hope ur ok! can i use this for a video im making!?? i will give you full credit and i will send you this link

  • hey can i use this ill give u the link 4 it if u want

  • let go

  • peole on here! stop thinking you know it all maybe she didnt think to drop the reins she just fell of she wouldnt think straight away "oh im gonna let go off the reins now" she probably didnt even no she was holding them still! god

  • If she is a difficult horse to ride dont puah her to a jimp she ia nervous about that builds tension which results in this... Use your head

  • heey can i use this in a vid im making? ill give you full credit :)

  • K u r not stupid to fall off a horse first of all if u know anything about riding u know thatit not holding onto the reins that keeps u on it's squeezing with ur legs to the saddle it's not ur hands that falls off! U should be ashamed if u called her stupid for falling off!

  • ouch that must of hurt!!

  • Can I please you this clip for my horse bloopers? x

  • Could u really be that stupid? dont just hold onto the reins! if they were tight in your hand he could rear and break your damn fingers!!

  • It's not actually as bad as it looks

  • poor pony!

  • omg were u ok???

  • :o were you hurt ? :(

  • i hate it when horses do that !

  • :o holy crap were you ok?? and um I'm trying to make a horse fall video can i use this?? i'll give you the credit :)

  • Woooo bad fall

  • she looks like she does the same thing this horse I'm riding does. where you have to stay really far back and sit deep or they will stop HARD? Rhys is exactly like that. He dumps me SO much lmao! that was a pretty epic fall though to be completely honest. Im glad your okay!

  • LOLOL very cool video! The person taking the video kept his/her hand still great

  • wow he had like a spaz attack

  • girlee described it best holy shit cakes. I was bracing for both you and the horse!!

  • Aw I'm so sorry! It looks like you should have your horse schooled because it looks like they were being a brat and u tries ur best

  • To all those saying dont hold the reins, I need to teach myself personally how to hold onto the riens. Too many times have I fallen and the horse gone bazzerk - Running around like an idiot trying to catch him.. Also what if you fall on a trail or open ring? it could save you and your horse.

  • Luv ur horse xxx

  • I luv ur horse he/she is geogrus does the wing of the jump come down with u ???

  • Oww, that looks like what happened when Striker bucked, but i went into a wall. and For all those peeps saying don't hold the reins, i agree but holding the reins saved me from a broken arm and several cracked ribs. even when he reared.

  • ooooooooh looks so sore but dont hold the reins xxx

  • well done for trying to hold one they recommend that in books sometimes. looks sore :o

  • Sorry but OMG THAT WAS LIKE AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • o putin elle c casser la geule cdr! ta tjr des dent? ptdr!

  • how did u manage to get that on tape?!??!

  • dont hold on the rains

  • @TheSmilesmile123 reins** And no judgment please.

  • @Tango8Balin3 well i know u said no judgement but she is right

  • @Tango8Balin3 not judging just giving tips and please dont correct my spelling im dyslexic

  • @TheSmilesmile123 You have to hold onto the reins so the horse doesn't run away, of course if it does start running or rearing, like the horse in this video, then you let go, like the rider in this video.

  • @TheSmilesmile123 i dont think she was really paying attention to that at the time :/

  • @TheSmilesmile123 in a scary and quick situation im pretty sure whats going on inside your head would be 'dont break my freaking neck' not 'oh i might break the reins'

  • @TheSmilesmile123 Not trying to start an argument but I don't really think that that was going through her mind... I bet if she could think about it, she would have, but she didn't. Also it just happens so quick. You are just holding onto them. Also if she let go of the reins, she would have done a flat out face plant. Again sorry if I come across as rude, just rtying to help! and OUCH, that was quite a fall, hope all was well after! xx

  • @LiveLoveHorses4Life i know that but i was just trying to give tips. i just happend to have reflex of puting my arms around the neck . i always tend to let go of the reins. i have gone to some shows were people really hurt their horses by holding on to the reins. i understand that they cant help that but still i feel sorry 4 the horse.

  • @TheSmilesmile123 Ok i understand. Sorry if i seemed snooty. but i understand your side too. and yeah to tell ya the truth, i feel bad for the horse too! Its like having head gear on and than someone pullnig REALLY hard on it. but i wouldn't know because i don't have it. haha ok im so ADD im just gonna stop talking... But thanks for clearing up the other side!

  • @TheSmilesmile123 if you were out in the country by yourself, you may want to try your best to hold onto the reins, especially if your horse runs away, as you dont want to lose your horse. some people can do it without getting hurt.

  • @thehorserider1997 really you should never ride out alone just incase something like that would happen

  • @TheSmilesmile123

if you fall of you should HOLD the reins, what if you're outside then it's 'bye bye horsie'

  • @Flickagirl17 if ur outside then hold on but if your not should not cuz it hurts the horse!

  • @TheSmilesmile123 it's just a reflex to hold the reins, and if you cant hold inside then you probably won't outside

  • @Flickagirl17 then you just hold on a bit more when riding outside helps me

  • @TheSmilesmile123

well actually some would say hold onto the reins!

  • @TheSmilesmile123 You do hold on the reins, becouse if the horse runs with its reins near his legs and trips he will break something..!!!

  • @horseandpony100 i tend to hold lose so when i fall the reins slip out of my hands and then i fall. not trying to start a fight but thats what i think is right and nothing is going to stop me.

  • @TheSmilesmile123 ur actually supposed to, so that the horse doesnt run away or rear or buck again....thats basic........do you even ride?................what if he were to jump it after spooking.........and u let go... he could trip, stumble or even fall on u...................does that sound fun???????????????? NO

  • @mousles01179 yes i do ride. i have been riding 4 about 7 years and my mom has been riding all her life and when she was little she pulled on her horses reins and she and the horse got hurt if she would have let go they would have been fine. and i dont know about u but i dont have super long reins, so when they are around the horses neck the horse cant trip on them. and its basic to let GO!

  • @TheSmilesmile123 QUESTION!!! how do you know they would have been fine....? ooooo well obviously 7 years isnt enough for you.....Maybe 6 more years and you'll catch up with me

  • @mousles01179 i dont know they would have been fine but if she had a very light hold on the reins then when the horse refused she would have maybe not flown over with the reins in her hands. and you cant judge how well i ride on my opinion. im so sorry if u dont think that it can hurt the horse mouth when holding on to tight but that is what i think so leave me alone! by the way dont u dare say im not a good rider.

  • @TheSmilesmile123 Your meant to hold the reins

  • @XShowjumperxx i dont think so cuz it can hurt the horse mouth and other parts if the horse. i v seen it happen. but i dont mind if u dont think so. im just saying what i v been told to do
