Pretty good, but I personally love the X-Men (movies and comics and tv series) but don't really like Harry Potter. And also if these two have similar things going on, Harry Potter stole it from X-Men (because the X-Men have been around since 1963 and I think Harry Potter first came around in the 90s), but I think its all just a coincidence.

I definitely believe Rowling is familiar with the superhero comics and the Dungeons & Dragon universe. The Harry Potter series has elements of all of those, along with the Sherlock Holmes style delivery.

that is silly. they're not the same! have you even looked at the plots and backstories? they might be similar in some places, but by no means are they ripoffs of the same story. Harry Potter is a story with a "chosen one" type plot and X-Men is about Humans vs. Creatures/Mutants.

wow after watching this I never knew the similarities between X-men and Harry Potter:

1)Both have schools for the 'gifted'

2)There's a head teacher for both the schools (Xavier/Dumbledore)

3)Arch-enemy to destroy the other (Voldemort/Magneto)

4)Both wants to take a stand (Dumbledore's Army/X-men vs. Death Eaters/Brotherhood

One can't call Harry Potter or X-men real because of the Oath of Secrecy, the Magic Cleaners & the Gov't. Truth is with the entities behind the characters. I've only heard of 2 that had experience with both HP & X high....Voldemort's daughter Jessi & Harry Potter. Potter was a girl known as Rebel,not included in the X-men series. (Yes the French & Saunders spoofs are correct Potter was a girl!) Before it all Potter was known as the Fire Starter...couldn't employ it in X-men.
