  • Wolves...

A wild carnivorous mammal that is the largest member of the dog family, living and hunting in packs. It is native to both Eurasia and North America, but has been widely exterminated

  • @1aqworldsnighva you do know that they are talking about RED wolves, not the gray wolves that most refer to when saying "wolves". These are completaly diffrent species and are not to be confused. RED wolves are native only to the southeastern united states and not eurasia.

  • @natureman97 Who said that I am talking about the red wolves?

  • @1aqworldsnighva The whole video is on red wolves usually when people comment on vids they comment about the vids.

  • @natureman97 I'm talking about All the wolves Because all of them are endangered.

  • @1aqworldsnighva Individual sub-species or species as a whole?

  • @geewheresthecake no if you let them go free they will hybridize and breed with coyotes. Thats why reds are so endangered. You need to keep the captive in a breeding program to get the species back up.

  • GREY WOLF - THE COLOUR IS F***ING GREY NOT F***ING GRAY - if you don't understand the very language you speak, what chance have you got? gee whiz man - you yanks seriously get on my nerves bigtime!

  • Comment removed

  • i'm a biologist studying red wolf conservation for my report, they are such beautiful creatures and interesting to learn about if anyone has any information on the seperate hybrid species of red wolf/coyote please let me know! i'm trying to find out as much about them as i can ! :D

  • @xEmmaKeoghx you're a biologist? And you have seen wolves?!!!

  • @geewheresthecake

well gess what the fricken wolf hunters dont give a shit its not like they are just gonna stop killing them

  • i wold love to help!i love wolves more than enyone wold know by my youtube name =P

  • i wold love to help!i love wolves more than enyone wold know by my youtube name =P

  • ionno trying to perserve animals that are near extinctions is a combination of two things, guilt and humans thirst for controlling nature. dumb and weak.

  • did he say that one of the wolves is injured due to a net wound, and yet they try to catch it with a net???

  • All wolves should be saved regardless of color!

  • YEAH wolvism should be banned

  • I agree save the wolve's!

  • These wolves are little compared to ones we have planted here in Idaho. Fish & Game introduced them to save them, and now they are wiping out the Elk and deer, leave them alone!

  • Probably because there was an overpopulation of elk and deer. The reintroduction of the red wolf will more than likely, reduce the population of elk and deer back to what mother nature originally intended it to be.

  • there are no elk were red wolves live, these are a different species than the grey/timber wolf they are more closely related to coyotes

  • @Jedmo65 Yea, that's the grey wolf. Not the Red Wolf. Red wolves are in serious need of help. With only aproximitaly 100 indivisuals left in the wild, they are in serious need. Grey wolves are overpopullated, but other species like Red wolves, and Mexican wolves are in need of help.

  • Save the wolves and let them run wild and free!!!!

  • what the hell are we doing now starting more mass extinction it look like people do more damage then they do. Then there people saying we should kill them all then your just stupid because we invade their territory in the first place

  • actualy over over the last 50-75 years the majority of people have been doing more to save species in danger of extinction

  • I am very sorry to read about your grandmother.

This is a good lesson for me-never judge or act quickly, as I did with the comment of the wolf. Pls don't take offense with me saying this animal is on this earth trying to survive like the rest of us. I am rabid about the 4-legged creatures getting a fair deal so it is hard to read about killing for the sport of it of the fun of it. Again, it is not my place to judge. Maybe it is because I am a Taurus and I don't even believe it that stuff?

  • Thanks, I appreciate your sympathy.

It was a very traumatic event for my entire family when the wolf took grandmother. She lived in a rather secluded area, though, way out in the woods, so the help she needed just couldn't get to her in time. I'm so grateful that my sister avoided that horrible fate.

  • There has only been 1 confirmed wild fatal wolf attack in North America in Saskatchewan, a 22 year old man. You should have your grandmothers case listed with the coroners court in Ontario straight away. Wolves are wild predators who are 4th on the danger list of North America. Take them out of the food chain (because of their prey choices) and you endanger all the prey animals as well, leading to less diversity. e.g.Deer are now proliferating, ruining forests spreading disease.

  • The only way to save the wolves in Alaska is to get rid of the barbaric Gov. Palin. She loves to have them shot from small planes, then leave them to suffer.

She is the worst of the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it also taughts us that ... foxes flatter people to stole their cheese, crows are proud but naive, crickets play guitar but are lazy and ants work a lot but are greedy.

  • It's very hard to keep red wolves "pure," because in the wild, they will mate with coyotes, which have since invaded that territory.

Whatever a red wolf is (the taxonomy is a major debate among wolf experts), it can breed with coyotes.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you're saying that all so-called "red wolves" are actually coyote-wolf bastards and deserve extinction. That about right?

  • No.

They are either an ancient hybrid, an ancient wolf-like species, or the Southeastern subspecies of wolf that had to interbreed with coyotes to survive.

All of those, in my book, would mean that they deserve protection. However, there is a controversy about the exact taxonomy within the wolf community.

Note that my name says progressive-- I'm a greenie.

  • you get red wolves in bangladesh at that time i was tryna tell them they are foxes but i was wrong because i dint know there were red wolves

  • You are talking about Dholes or Asiatic wild dogs.

They are featured in the Jungle Book.

They are pack hunters, like wolves and African wild dogs. But they aren't red wolves.

Any wolves in Bangladesh would be Indian wolves (Canis lupus pallipes or Canis indica, the taxonomy is still being debated).

  • What did a wolf ever do to you? You sound very bitter.

  • A wolf killed my grandmother and TRIED to kill my sister. Fortunately a gun-toting woodsman came to her rescue.

  • Sure.

  • I'm glad you're sure.

  • here dumasses read this

It is estimated that the beginnings of the saluki go back as early as 7,000 B.C. when early man had spread out across the Fertile Crescent also known as Mesopotamia. Man had observed and desired to utilise the traits displayed by the native predators and so began the domestication of the small, local Desert Wolf (C.l. arabis) a lighter, faster variety of wolf than its northern cousins.

  • continued...This developing relationship enabled man to refine specific inherent behavioural and hunting traits in the wolf thereby producing, over time, a canid capable of doing exactly what man needed.....now stop arguing nonsense just go google it lol

  • True! but alas your description is too simple and thanks to a breakthrough scientific research program in the Soviet Union in the 70's we discovered that the traits deemed to be described by the word "Domesticated" took at least 40 generations(Blue fox domestication). Those that think that you can recreate that with genetically pure wolves live vicariously. Dingos are feral Asiatic dogs and when they cross breed with a dog most aussies know they probably have to destroy the litter.

  • I did some more researching after posting here actualy ...dig into the northern breeds here in canada you might find it interesting.. the labrador sled dog is an interesting one and the most wolf like In appearance (theres also another that was bred with timber wolves) most of the breeds used up there came across from Russia But still have that hunting instinct even though wolf is almost non existant in their genes anymore they are so many generations down the line.

  • Dogs and Wolves share exactly the same genes apart from a few minor differences. This is why there is now so much consternations about the genera between different scientists. It is the genetic traits that domestication changes and what we as humans select for. Wolf packs are extremely dynamic social groups, domestication smooths out the animals "emotions" and pack "coping mechanisms" Domesticated dogs are effectively Lobotomised. This follows even in "feral" packs for many generations

  • why dont poeple take more wolfs as pets ? they dont bite..

pit bulls are far more wors

  • far more wors are they?

    maybe

  • You're judging an entire breed of dog based on the way some idiots decide to "train" their dogs. Pitbulls are extremely strong & fearless so generally there owners get them so they can be used for some grimy shit. Imagine this, there is only one breed of dog in the world and it is a Labrador Retriever. Normally you would almost never hear of them being vicious. Now guess what happens since they are the only breed? Humans are responsible for dog attacks. You choose how to raise your pet.

  • hehe i get the point : p good one ^^

  • Well said!

  • I could`nt agree more if you don`t take the time and effort with your pet don`t have one. I prefer dogs any day kay

  • dogs were invented/created as a species to be codependant on humans.

Wolves (not wolfs) are invented/created to be codependant amongst themselves, and essentially were genetically and instinctivly designed to flee away from humans.

  • you can train any wolf or fox pup to come to you turbo..take it from its mother as a pup(sound familiar?) and feed it...for that matter with a little work you can even get them to trust you in the wild...all animals have a flight reflex unless they learn otherwise as babys...wild domestic dog breeds will run from humans for example and scavange or hunt for food like their wild cousins...dogs are dogs so to speak lol

  • wolves and foxes are dogs

  • thats what i try to tell people lol

  • Because wolves shouldn't be domesticated.

They're wild animals and should remain wild.

Plus people don't take care of their dogs. Feeding them shit food, not taking them outside for exercise, and now a lot of dogs these days are lethargic and fat.

  • I own three wolves and they're very well behaved. They also get the chance to get plenty of exercise and do plenty of hunting.

  • That's incredible. I would love to be able to be up close and personal with them. I checked out your page as well.. you've got great taste in music.. Offspring, NIN, Alice Cooper, Guns N Roses,etc.. My generation hasn't the slightest clue on good music.!

  • "Our generation," I guess you could call it. Judging by the age listed in your profile, anyway.

You should check out the videos I've made if you like my musical taste. I've put some good songs in them. Some have been taken down due to copyright claims, but...a lot remain. If you like the vids, subscribe! A lot of weird humour in them! Ha!

  • Why Don't you put video's up of them. All I see are video's of your cat

  • ive seen this crap before.some 1 claims they have a pet wolf and they show them to you and they turn out to be regular ole shepherds or huskies

  • well that depends Bojaxs...your forgetting about mixed wolf sled dog breeds..although most of the wolf /dog breeding took place years ago to add to the dogs ability, and the cross breeding is no longer needed the traits are now inherant...All dogs were wild at one point you should also remember...i see alot of nonsense in the comments below lol..look at oneturbos comment lol...dogs were first kept to HUNT for man turbo you dumass

  • i love u pplz.....help the wild life..

    their being encrouched upon....

    peace.+.

  • They are so beautiful. I'm thankful for these oganizations that try to save wild animals of all kinds. These people are true heros in my opinion.

  • true but they are so few man destroys more than he saves kay

  • Nice catch.

  • wow ... i do love wolves

  • :( I love wolves, thir beautiful and graceful creatures. Cant we live WITH them, and find other ways to get pelts and to save our cattle? :(

  • i dont understand why they send the babies into the wild only. they have no idea what they doing.

  • Because instinct shows them what they have to do to survive, most animals dont have to be taught these things because they are programed

  • god humans are a mess. why cant we just live with all these beautiful creatures around us ?

  • hmm let me put this in simple terms, we are to the world what cancer is to humans.

Basicly some of us are good, but the majority are programmed to be destructive.

  • That was really well put haha.

  • Actually everyone is destructive in whether they like it or not. For something to live something must die. Everything is give and take, and humans have just been taking more and more.
