Any puppy or dog looking like this is asking for comfort, give them what they need and want, and your dog will grow to be a mentally healthy and loving companion. Seems to me like he thinks you were keeping him in a pen with walls made of a sofa, as if the "sofa" is forming a circle around him. Say you would use that wire mesh for the garden pen for dogs, only in the "couch" version.... lol... hope that makes sense. :)

mine doesnt hit us with his tail just yet, hes only 10 months old, but at 120 or so his feet hurt you when he steps on you, his claws scratch you when he jumps up and you have no shirt on, (my fault for playing topless lol) or when he raises his head right into your chin, it feels like you just got uppercutted, hopefully your tounge isnt sticking out lmao.

2. train them to be separated from you. the instructions are all over internet.

3. don't get any if you can't provide them A LOT of your time and love. danes depend on attention from their leader more than most dogs imo.
