I contacted Laboga via Email, and they responded" saying that since there is no distributors in the USA, that they sell Direct. The Mr" Hector Head will be $1950 + $60 shipping to the states.
Can anyone help me to get one of these amps? I live in the United States and cant Find a dealer anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated". THANKS!!
As i said This Laboga tube amp is the very best 6L6 high gain amp that i ever played ... the conception of the amp "All hand made" is really excellent : no plop or no latency when you change the channel ... He as a perfect clean sound and an incredible gain channel very definite with an enormous reserve of gain and warmth ... many metal band stop to use rectifier to use "Mr Hector" ... i think you should try it ;-)
Can't say I'm impressed with this one. I preferred your Mesa sound. This Laboga sound pretty generic to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it sounds like shit, but I can't feel the personality. The Mesa has great recognizable sound that imo, can't be matched. But if you're happy with it, that's all that matters. (Maybe it sounds better in person and every details are lost in the youtube compression...)
i dont think one amp is the best one ... i think some persons will prefer one or one other .... the best way to make a choice is to try .... after having playing with many différent amps and after many many tours of shows / master classes/ clinics etc ... i choise : for me LABOGA is the best ;-))
I just bought one of these amps. The amount of gain is just insane :-) . One thing though, when I'm on the clean channel, it sounds really fantastic with my one guitar that has EMG81 pups. However, when I switch to my Gibson Les Paul Classic with stock pups, it sounds totally crappy. The clean sound is all distorted, as opposed to the EMG81 guitar, where the sound is totally clean.. I would've expected the other way round... any ideas?
perhaps you have problems with your Gibson pic ups ?? with my Mr Hector i always have a really fantasttic sound ... very pure and dynamic clean sound ... if it wotk with the EMG i think the problem don't come from the amp ;-))
@Ness0007 the passive pups on the Gibson are brighter and more expressive than the EMGs so when switching guitars maybe use less clean gain with the Gibson to avoid compensation issues between the passive and active pickup outputs. It also really depends on the position played in- the neck vs. the bridge
thousand thanks for your comment ;-)) I never use any effect ... i always play straight through the amp ... thats why i really love this amp ... it's so dynamic and versatile ... for me it's just perfect ... i can tottaly change my sound just with the Volume control of the guitar ...
the pikups i use are Seymour Duncan : from neck to bridge : Sh5 / SSL5 / TB5
The clean sound of the Laboga is fantastic ... really dynamic ... it totally respect the pick ups ... I think it's really excellent ... the best thing to make your own opinion is to test it ... i think you'll have a good surprise with this incredible laboga amp ...;-))
The distortion's great, but Dont you think the clean channel is a little dead?
At least there are no demos in youtube of the clean channel except the jazz part. And it sounds a little dead. Maybe not at the level of a mesa boogie.
My feelings are very similar. When i played mesa dr first i known, that it's very good amp. But then i played hector. After that there is'nt exist any other amps for me- i just starded collecting money. Now i have one. Just mesa cabinet left to buy.
That's of course only mine opinion, anyone dont have to agree. This amp is made for me, maybe it's just not made for u.
Hello, yes i have tried them ... and i think it sound amazing ... I'm a 6L6 user so i'm a "Mr Hector" fan but the new Alligators are really amazing ...
that's not fusion :)

Hi!
I've played this head several times on gigs, and i think, that we Poles, made better head's than this. For example check the MG Raven II head.

Ok so I just neede to play with the settings a little bit, that problem is gone now.
However, does your amp also HUMS rather loud?
When I put an NS2 in between my guitar and the amp, all noise is gone when I stop playing, but the amp just makes a rather loud HUM...
When I put the NS2 in the loop of the amp, the HUM is gone, but there's certain degree of tonesuck....
So just wondering if your amp is also humming rather loud (at loud volumes i mean)

I don't have the amp anymore. I sold it.
By the way, the 50Hz hum issue was related to a bad preamp tube.

Hi Jean,
I like the sound of your amp. Very versatile.
I would like to know if you are playing straight through the amp, or do you use any effects/ pedals etc in between?
Also what kind of pickups do you use in your guitar?
Thx in advance.
