  • the best way to know it is to try it .... ;-))

As i said This Laboga tube amp is the very best 6L6 high gain amp that i ever played ... the conception of the amp "All hand made" is really excellent : no plop or no latency when you change the channel ... He as a perfect clean sound and an incredible gain channel very definite with an enormous reserve of gain and warmth ... many metal band stop to use rectifier to use "Mr Hector" ... i think you should try it ;-)

    Cheers

    Jean

  • Can't say I'm impressed with this one. I preferred your Mesa sound. This Laboga sound pretty generic to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it sounds like shit, but I can't feel the personality. The Mesa has great recognizable sound that imo, can't be matched. But if you're happy with it, that's all that matters. (Maybe it sounds better in person and every details are lost in the youtube compression...)

  • for me it's the best high gain amp ... ;-)

    Cheers

    Jean

  • @Fontanille

    Hi!

I've played this head several times on gigs, and i think, that we Poles, made better head's than this. For example check the MG Raven II head.

    Cheers :)

  • @Fontanille Un jours si vous avez le temps testez le Blackstar one 100 ou 50 vous allez peut etre laisser tomber laboga lol ^^

  • never understood why in the reviews this model is described as total c-r-a-p

  • i dont think one amp is the best one ... i think some persons will prefer one or one other .... the best way to make a choice is to try .... after having playing with many différent amps and after many many tours of shows / master classes/ clinics etc ... i choise : for me LABOGA is the best ;-))

  • The Mesa/Boogie Mark iv is the best amp. This Laboga don't impress me.

  • Does this guitar sounds good with an Engl amp ?

And how much does this guitar cost?

  • Are you using the same EQ settings for all of the channels? And if so, what are they?

  • @dinoman89

    Yes it's the same ... :

Basse 4/10, Midlle 8/10 end treble 5/10 ... bright switch : on for the overdrive Channel ;-))

    Cheers

    Jean

  • does anybody know in this vid is he playing just guitar straight into amp?

  • @pinkzeppelin72

Hello ;-)) I just play the guitar in the amps ... nothing else ;-))

    Cheers Jean

  • I prefer vigier guitars to music man guitars... a lot!

  • Comment removed

  • That was one REALLY interesting concept of Vivaldi "Four seasons"! Rock ON Man!

  • Ok so I just neede to play with the settings a little bit, that problem is gone now.

However, does your amp also HUMS rather loud?

When I put an NS2 in between my guitar and the amp, all noise is gone when I stop playing, but the amp just makes a rather loud HUM...

When I put the NS2 in the loop of the amp, the HUM is gone, but there's certain degree of tonesuck....

So just wondering if your amp is also humming rather loud (at loud volumes i mean)

  • I just bought one of these amps. The amount of gain is just insane :-) . One thing though, when I'm on the clean channel, it sounds really fantastic with my one guitar that has EMG81 pups. However, when I switch to my Gibson Les Paul Classic with stock pups, it sounds totally crappy. The clean sound is all distorted, as opposed to the EMG81 guitar, where the sound is totally clean.. I would've expected the other way round... any ideas?

  • Hello Ness0007,

perhaps you have problems with your Gibson pic ups ?? with my Mr Hector i always have a really fantasttic sound ... very pure and dynamic clean sound ... if it wotk with the EMG i think the problem don't come from the amp ;-))

    Cheers

    Jean

  • @Ness0007 the passive pups on the Gibson are brighter and more expressive than the EMGs so when switching guitars maybe use less clean gain with the Gibson to avoid compensation issues between the passive and active pickup outputs. It also really depends on the position played in- the neck vs. the bridge

  • @emperorofthenorth5

I don't have the amp anymore. I sold it.

By the way, the 50Hz hum issue was related to a bad preamp tube.

  • Thank you for your message ;-))

Fusion music is a very very large style of music ...;-) there are so many way to play fusion ... this part it's not only shreding for me ... ;-))

    Cheers

    Jean

  • your fusion was just another shred again lol. but great playing.

  • Hi Jean,

I like the sound of your amp. Very versatile.

I would like to know if you are playing straight through the amp, or do you use any effects/ pedals etc in between?

Also what kind of pickups do you use in your guitar?

    Thx in advance.

    Grtz Melfice

  • Hi Melfice ;-)

thousand thanks for your comment ;-)) I never use any effect ... i always play straight through the amp ... thats why i really love this amp ... it's so dynamic and versatile ... for me it's just perfect ... i can tottaly change my sound just with the Volume control of the guitar ...

    the pikups i use are Seymour Duncan : from neck to bridge : Sh5 / SSL5 / TB5

    Thank you so much ;-)

    Cheers

    Jean

  • Hello,

The clean sound of the Laboga is fantastic ... really dynamic ... it totally respect the pick ups ... I think it's really excellent ... the best thing to make your own opinion is to test it ... i think you'll have a good surprise with this incredible laboga amp ...;-))

    Cheers

    Jean

  • The distortion's great, but Dont you think the clean channel is a little dead?

At least there are no demos in youtube of the clean channel except the jazz part. And it sounds a little dead. Maybe not at the level of a mesa boogie.

  • I have one mr hector. The drive is so fukken great, that i'm not using clean too often. But generally i agree with u.

  • Hey man what are you playing a 1:36 ??? That amps sounds really good!

  • Hello and thank you for your comment ...;-))

this is an extract from the Summer from Vivaldi ... arrange by P Rondat ;-)) from his album "Amphibia"

    Cheers

    Jean

  • Alexi Lahio has a video somewhere on youtube playing what u played in the shred part haha

  • Hello,

Alexi Lahio is an incredible guitarsit and musician ... i'm a great fan of him ;-))

  • for me - the best amp ever.

i like it even more than mesas.

  • I don´t want to say this but, OF COURSE IT IS BETTER!!

    It is complete hand made!

    I love the sound too!

  • so are mesas foo

  • My feelings are very similar. When i played mesa dr first i known, that it's very good amp. But then i played hector. After that there is'nt exist any other amps for me- i just starded collecting money. Now i have one. Just mesa cabinet left to buy.

That's of course only mine opinion, anyone dont have to agree. This amp is made for me, maybe it's just not made for u.

  • Great playing mate, you can play everything, any kind of music, I just wondering what do you like more Laboga or Mesa?

  • Hello,

    thank you so much ;-))

I love the Laboga ... it's just the best amp i ever played .... it just love it more than any other amp ;-))

    Cheers

    Jean

  • ok, thanks :D

  • annihilator man , check em out they play em. trust me those rans blastin through this live cannot be beaten. its like a dreamset up.

  • Bravo pour cette petite démo !!! Toi qui as déjà joué sur N.O.S , est-ce qu'il y a une réelle différence ?

    Nico

  • And what do you think about new Alligators? Have you tried them?

  • Hello, yes i have tried them ... and i think it sound amazing ... I'm a 6L6 user so i'm a "Mr Hector" fan but the new Alligators are really amazing ...

    Cheers

    Jean

  • MARSHALLLLLLLLL RULEZ

  • Hello,

Laboga amps are totally hand made ... It's really really different than amps who are build by a way industrialist by machines ;-))

just try one and you'll here the diference ;-)))

    Cheers

    Jean

    Amicalement

    Jean

  • Super !!!

    J'avais jamais entendus d'amplis Laboga .
