Looks like YouTube is trippin yet again and doesn't register my comments. Here I go for another try - sorry if it's a little short but I'm tired of retyping it all the time! : )
Thanks a lot for doing the video, really helpfull. Also, good shout out to Grims40K, because he actually inspired me to go for an icetable. Together with these toturials I should hopefully manage to make something good out of it.
I build the frame earlier this week and got the foam today so I'm really excited about this weekend. Only thing that's a slight downer is that I bought a really, really crappy hotwire-cutter so I have to look for a better one.
I'm still thinking of maybe doing a vlog about the project, but all I have is my mobilephone camera so I'm not sure about that yet...
Anyway, thanks again for the video, inpirational and motivating to actually finish this project.
Have an awsome Friday? Mine is soon done!! Well, I did have one awsome Friday :-)
But again, great video, great shoutouts, great effect.. When you said there is a reason you used blue, I tought you'd say something about the density or something.. Heck, I think too much :)
Where do you buy your blue foam? I used to go to Lowes and HD all the time and all they had was the 1 inch pink insulation foam. I could never find anything thicker...I think that's why I gave up on terrain.
Lol, 4X8 is the only size I've seen ANY of it in. That's one of the reasons I miss the old GW boxed sets with those wonderful foam inserts. They were perfect for ruined buildings...just the right size and virtually no work involved.
Hey Christiphor!!!!! I'm going to sound like a Yanky saying this but how far south do you live Bro? Like Texas? The further south you go the thinner the insulation they carry. Up here you can get up to 2" thick. If you ever come up here ( higher laditudes). You will find it every where.
Very nice vid. I've never used a hot wire tool before.I don't have the space in my apartment to do that kinda stuff. The guys at the gaming club make tons of cool stuff like this. Do you use Americana paints on your minis as well?
I'll use any paint really that is the right color but I'm going to look into bootlegs wet pallet style That may improve my quality of work and I'm about anything that will do that:)!
My brother, those fumes coming off of that foam cutter is toxic! Do yourself and your lungs a favor and use a fan when you are cutting. Small-cell lung cancer is -no joke-.
Doesn't hot foam release toxic chemical vapors?

Some places only sell one inch.....
But other places hide the big foam sheets...with the plywood type stuff...
Lowes caries 1-inch here....
Home depot has both....
I've only seen the thick stuff in 4 x 8 :)
