I always thought Hulk was the strongest Marvel hero, or villain. Sorry, I know alot more about DC than I do Marvel, so maybe there are some things I'm not aware of when it comes to Marvel characters.

I kind of agree. Both have strength and durability but when you think about it its kind of unfair. Thor is a god. Captain M. is a kid. Thor has a hammer that can smash stuff and summon lightning. Thor should win. Strength, durability, stamina, etc. are all pretty much a wash, though Captain Marvel is faster. Thor, however, has vastly more powerful energy projection, greater versatility in terms of powers, greater ranged combat options, and his striking power with Mjolnir is > than Captain Marvel's bare fists. It's a good fight though; two of my favorite characters of all time.
Captain Marvel lost to Thor in the Marvel/DC crossover, but 2 important things. 1. That was fan voted. So it was a popularity contest. 2. That was before Captain Marvel's powers evolved. His only weakness has been getting transformed back to Bill Batson when he tries to use His lightning or when he is wounded. In fact, that's how Thor beat him. So technically, Thor didn't beat him. He beat himself.
Previously, captain Marvel was always displayed to be weaker than Superman. But now, he is on the same level power wise as Superman. Every aspect of his abilities are now God like. So his stamina strength and endurance are far greater than they used to be. He would be able to beat Thor. In the animated movie, a Loki controlled, Banner less, Rage inhanced Hulk nearly killed Thor. Captain Marvel's Strength level is at least equal to that. For God sakes, he lifted an entire continent. CM wins.

You kind of underestimated 'Wisdom of Solomon'. That's pretty formiddable. Achilles, who you mentioned in your video, is also rolled into Marvel. Hercules is God of Strength, and he's wrapped in Marvel. Zeus is the King of the Gods, equivalent to Odin himself, and he's wrapped into Marvel. Atlas is a titan who holds up the world, he's wrapped into Marvel. Mercury is God of Speed, he's wrapped into Marvel. You kinda didn't give Marvel a fair shake.
Captain Marvel has the wisdom of Solomon and the power of Zues, I am a huge fan of both, but I think it would be a close match. Captain Marvel has the power of a god, and he has the wisdom of Solomon when he becomes Captain Marvel, he becomes way more intelligent than Thor. When Billy becomes Captain Marvel, he doesn't think like a kid, he thinks like Solomon.

The only advantage Thor has is that he's older. More battle experience so he can out smart Captain Marvel. However, they are pretty evenly matched when it comes to powers.

The only thing Thor has over Superman is his vulnerability to magic. Other than that, Superman is stronger, faster, more durable, etc. If you get rid of that vulnerability to magic you get Captain Marvel. Thor stands no chance.
Thor is the weakest of all Marvel. Thor has absolutely no power of his own. in the absence of his hammer. As a matter fact, his hammers isn't even of his own, but of Odin's. Thor is no god. The Asgard was mistakenly as gods in primitive times. Captain Marvel is combination of Solomon, Hercules, Achilles, Zeus, Atlas, and Mercury. Thor is just one person with a silly hammer. Thor even got raped by the Hulk in every movies.
Thor has shown intelligence in his Don Blake form when was he even as intelligent as Reed Richard's in his Thor form I missed that. However Capt. Marvel also seldom uses the Widom of Solomon in a fight either. So Thor might be brighter than Marvel who gets outsmarted by Sivana but doubt he is smarter than Reed Richards.

@034Thor1 Thor fought villians that were more powerful than him. Capt. Marvel strength only equals Zeus. He doesn't have Zeus' powers. So let's say Capt. Marvel is stronger, how many villians did Thor fight that were stronger and more powerful than him? Capt.Marvel was shown to turn back even when he wasn't hit by lightning a missile used by batman hit him and somehow caused him to change back and batman being a dummy asked him if he's okay and he said Shazam and turned back into Marvel. I don't think Thor would be that dumb to let him turn back.

Thor's used his hammer to deflect bullets numerous times, one story said he moved at a speed beyond comprehension, he spun hammer so fast he traveled through time. Although like Superman and Flash isn't always consistant in his use of speed.
What kills me on Thor arguments is that his major powers are never brought up. Which are the writers fault. Thor has the ability to operate on Omega level. Calling on the winds and lightning from a thousand worlds. He used this on Glory and against Ego the living planet. He can draw magnetic energy from the earth and hurl it, as he did against a Celestial. Warrior Madness multiplies his strength by 10. And last but not least, the Godblast that once beat Galactus. Thor will beat them all.
Yeah i aggree his odin force etc Thor also gained extra poweres when his father puts him through some trials ,later on thor gains the rune power and becomes much stronger than odin him self.His God blast and his antiforce are much more deadly..i reckon if he used that on apocolypse he will knock him down and surpass his armour or invincibility and own him easy and also every other villian character, his hammer can transcend any barrier he wants according to his will power
@orin81 I never mention the Odin Force or the Rune power in these discussions because 1. Thor does not have either anymore 2. Thor does not need them to beat most of the characters in comics if he uses all of his powers. For god's sake, Thor beat Galactus and broke an indestructible shield around the brain of the largest and most powerful Celestial with the Godblast. Thor is as strong as Superman and Hulk. Add in all of his other powers, Warrior Madness and the Anti-Force, he'll beat them all.
Thor vs. Captain Marvel is good fight but I agree that Thor takes him out. Thor has gone toe to toe with Galactus and Surtur. Thor has handed Mephisto his ass on many occasions. Moljnir can create more than just weather; Thor has used that hammer to created portals to send foes to other relms and demensions. Captain Marvel can do none of that. If/When Billy Batson grows up he may then pose a challenge like he does when he gets in Superman's ass in Kingdom Come, 'till then Thor in 5th rd KO.
Captain Marvel would loose but not in two pages, no way. Captain Marvel Draws on all of those powers and reacts almost reflectorically in battle.....hes not a kid when he changes, not at all. Give Captain Marvel more credit, hes immune to magic, meaning Thor would have less impact. he could easily go toe to toe with superman. in fact, although Sup has more raw power, no one could disagree with that, but Sup tends to reley on that power, because he can. CM draws on millenia of tactics and skill

I'll give you the experince goes to thor but caps qualities help him VERY much. His speed alone puts lets him keep pace with the flash at times, he's shown doing very courageous deeds including self sacrafice(of his life) for the greater good, hercules in the marvel universe has been shown to be on par or even stronger than thor & that helps his case and experience doesnt always account for everything...thats been proven in comics time and time again and in thors case hulk proves it.
Wheras thor is just A god captain marvel has the power of 4 gods(one being zues,the equivalent of odin) and two demigods or half gods. The proof is in the math if you ask me.

Go back and read the old Olympus vs Asgard war. It came out in the late 70's and in that Odin got all up in Zues' ass and Thor kicked Hercules' ass. Marvel has set up the Norse gods to be superior to the Olympic gods + Hercules is a demi-god (half human/half god) were Thor is 100%. In comics Herc comes across as the little brother to Thor and looks to Thor for guidence;it would take a truly "cosmic" being to best Thor;his best battle's are epics-check out Walt Simonson's work in the 80's
@kewpie94 I have to admit I am more of a DC fan then Marvel, though I do love both and in this case I think Thor would have it, but you can't compare the the greek gods from marvel to the greek gods from DC. DC has the greek gods being top of the ladder and the norse gods are lower. There stories are even slightly different. Marvels Norse and DC's Greek gods should be on equal footing. In this fight I think the only thing cap marvel has going is his speed, which can reach the speed of light.
@superbat45 DC Thor used hammer to send Jimmy Olsen through time, a hammer like his used by Zhavam could hurt Superman. DC isn't always consistant. DC Zeus not that powerful in earlier story even Wonder Woman could deflect his power. Marvel isn't always consistant either but you could say Thor upgraded his hammer and Hulk increased in strength over time, etc. Marvel treats Norse God and Greek gods as equals and Zeus is basically equal to Odin and Thor is as basically as Strong as Hercules.
@TheOnixgaming Thor knocked Hercules out in other fights without even hitting him with the hammer and in the Story Hercules was Choking him Hercules lost because he was hit by lightning, Thor did not actually pass out go back and reread it.

@clawsandwebs I'm not sure that is a completely accurate assesment. I agree that thor is cooler than zues and odin but is the son really better than the father. Zues=odin really and to say thor could whip zues means he could whip odin as well.
@qjeez Captain Marvel only has ONE power from each of those gods. Not all their powers or skill. Thor has all those powers and a lot more. Stan Lee made Thor to be stronger than Hulk and wiser than super genius Reed Richards. Thor can be these things, because he is a god. Thor has more experience than Wonder Woman and Thor wins this by skill if nothing else.

Always felt like in straight up brawling against another combatant of equal power that theres always the possibility thor can get seperated from mjolnir which greatly reduces thor effectiveness. Not sure why wonderwoman was brought into the discussion either...thor would take down the amazon for sure.
@qjeez Aside from Thor having fighting skills greater than even Wonder Woman, which would make it difficult for anyone to disarm him, Thor can just call his hammer back into his hand like Luke Skywalker did with his lightsaber. You could try to keep him away from the hammer, but with his skill he would certainly toss you to the side long enough to grab the hammer.

Hercules is stronger than Thor, And CM has the strength of Hercules. In terms of tactics, CM has the wisdom of Solomon... But whether that would beat centuries of experience? It's close.

Thor keeps getting screwed by the writers. If you do the math, it isn't even close. Thor is just as tough and strong as Marvel--if not more--and he's a trained warrior with HUNDREDS of years of experience. Adding the hammer, it allows Thor to command lightning and mystical energy. Add to the fact he now has the Odinpower and he can probably override Capt. Marvel's powers. Superman can't even lift Thor's hammer, let alone Capt Marvel.
Thor's victory is really obvious. Even if we suppose that Marvel and Thor are matched physically, Captain Marvel is a one-trick-pony. His entire magical arsenal revolves around one spell that usually requires a verbal command to activate. Thor has a whole range of offensive and defensive attacks he can use with that hammer. Even if Marvel does that thing where he raps his hands in mystical energy to break spells, Thor can still whip his butt with Mjollnir.
They've shown Captain Marvel and Black Adam as being vulnerable to being changed back by any sort of enchanted lightning, not just Shazam's. So, if Thor knows that, or just happens to hit CM with the lightning, it's Thor vs. Billy Batson. Which is a short and potentially tragic fight.
I would actually expect it to be written as CM talking Thor out of fighting, though. The wisdom of Solomon would tell him Thor wasn't a bad guy, and that they shouldn't be fighting, and that he couldn't win.

The DC guy is gonna win most of these things when talking about how would win in a fight, because Marvel dosn't make many chatacters that are over-powered. In Marvel there's hardly ever a God-like character that just can do all things (Superman, Captin Marvel, Dr. Manhattan, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, WonderWoman, Darkseid, Brainiac, Bizzaro, Zod) most Marvel characters have one or two powers, or none at all. They even limit the powers of mythological characters like Thor and Herculese.
Now this would be a good fight. I think Thor or Cap. Marvel would womp Superman...Superman just has popularity on his side his still is just an alien with power from our yellow sun...these two are gods or one god the other has the pwoer of 6 gods. Marvel has the Wisdom of Solomon, Strength of Hercules, Stamina of Atlas, Power of Zeus, Courage of Achilles, and the Speed of Mercury. Captain Marvel is faster then thor, Captain Marvel is probably stronger too, the only thing that might make thor win is his mjolnir which is a pretty deadly, but if captain marvel ever seperated him from mjolnir, thor's down, meaning he has no thunder, no flight.
Thor is MUCH stronger and MUCH faster and is a FAR better fighter. He flew into warp speed. Wisdom won't save him. He never uses it. He's a ten year old boy for crying out loud.

Those aren't powers of gods, just qualities. He just has brute force and speed. I know Captain Marvel can summon lightning at times but HEY Thor can manipulate that. There's no way Thor'd lose. I read somewhere that Thor can freeze time so he would have unlimited speed. In another story it says he moves at a speed beyond comprehension how fast is that? Thor doesn't have to go to a rock of eternity whereever that is to travel through time.

You kind of underestimated 'Wisdom of Solomon'. That's pretty formiddable. Achilles, who you mentioned in your video, is also rolled into Marvel. Hercules is God of Strength, and he's wrapped in Marvel. Zeus is the King of the Gods, equivalent to Odin himself, and he's wrapped into Marvel. Atlas is a titan who holds up the world, he's wrapped into Marvel. Mercury is God of Speed, he's wrapped into Marvel. You kinda didn't give Marvel a fair shake.

That's true-- the "plot-induced stupidity" angle always rules out in the end.
They can't say that one hero is "better" than another, because that would hurt sales, so all matches end in a draw of some sort.
Like with Hulk vs. Wolverine, Hulk ends up ripping Wolverine literally in HALF-- but Nick Fury steps in and becomes their common enemy.
That's a weakness with comics, i.e. they always cheese their way out things to avoid butthurting fans of either side, or ending rivalry

Capt.Marvel was shown to turn back even when he wasn't hit by lightning a missile used by batman hit him and somehow caused him to change back and batman being a dummy asked him if he's okay and he said Shazam and turned back into Marvel. I don't think Thor would be that dumb to let him turn back.

What kills me on Thor arguments is that his major powers are never brought up. Which are the writers fault. Thor has the ability to operate on Omega level. Calling on the winds and lightning from a thousand worlds. He used this on Glory and against Ego the living planet. He can draw magnetic energy from the earth and hurl it, as he did against a Celestial. Warrior Madness multiplies his strength by 10. And last but not least, the Godblast that once beat Galactus. Thor does not need them to beat most of the characters in comics if he uses all of his powers. Thor vs. Captain Marvel is good fight but I agree that Thor takes him out. Thor has gone toe to toe with Galactus and Surtur. Thor has handed Mephisto his ass on many occasions. Moljnir can create more than just weather; Thor has used that hammer to created portals to send foes to other relms and demensions. Captain Marvel can do none of that. If/When Billy Batson grows up he may then pose a challenge like he does when he gets in Superman's ass in Kingdom Come, 'till then Thor in 5th rd KO.

I'll give you the experince goes to thor but caps qualities help him VERY much. His speed alone puts lets him keep pace with the flash at times, he's shown doing very courageous deeds including self sacrafice(of his life) for the greater good, hercules in the marvel universe has been shown to be on par or even stronger than thor & that helps his case and experience doesnt always account for everything...thats been proven in comics time and time again and in thors case hulk proves it.

Go back and read the old Olympus vs Asgard war. It came out in the late 70's and in that Odin got all up in Zues' ass and Thor kicked Hercules' ass. Marvel has set up the Norse gods to be superior to the Olympic gods + Hercules is a demi-god (half human/half god) were Thor is 100%. In comics Herc comes across as the little brother to Thor and looks to Thor for guidence;it would take a truly "cosmic" being to best Thor;his best battle's are epics-check out Walt Simonson's work in the 80's

DC has the greek gods being top of the ladder and the norse gods are lower. There stories are even slightly different. Marvels Norse and DC's Greek gods should be on equal footing. In this fight I think the only thing cap marvel has going is his speed, which can reach the speed of light.

DC Zeus not that powerful in earlier story even Wonder Woman could deflect his power. Marvel isn't always consistant either but you could say Thor upgraded his hammer and Hulk increased in strength over time, etc. Marvel treats Norse God and Greek gods as equals and Zeus is basically equal to Odin and Thor is as basically as Strong as Hercules.

You could try to keep him away from the hammer, but with his skill he would certainly toss you to the side long enough to grab the hammer.

Thor keeps getting screwed by the writers. If you do the math, it isn't even close. Thor is just as tough and strong as Marvel--if not more--and he's a trained warrior with HUNDREDS of years of experience. Adding the hammer, it allows Thor to command lightning and mystical energy. Add to the fact he now has the Odinpower and he can probably override Capt. Marvel's powers. Superman can't even lift Thor's hammer, let alone Capt Marvel.

Thor's victory is really obvious. Even if we suppose that Marvel and Thor are matched physically, Captain Marvel is a one-trick-pony. His entire magical arsenal revolves around one spell that usually requires a verbal command to activate. Thor has a whole range of offensive and defensive attacks he can use with that hammer. Even if Marvel does that thing where he raps his hands in mystical energy to break spells, Thor can still whip his butt with Mjollnir.

The difference between the Marvel Universe and the DC is that the DC heroes all have weaknesses.
Marvel Heroes don't have weaknesses much because their power isn't up to much comparison.
If the DC heroes had no weakness, what could stop them?
If you ask me then the Marvel Heroes will just use their brains in order for them to find out their weaknesses.
And in this fight, all Thor has to do is to make Captain Marvel say "SHAZAM" to turn him into a kid and stuff like that.

2) Captain Marvel: relies on that lightning to change into Captain Marvel. or into Billy.

They've shown Captain Marvel and Black Adam as being vulnerable to being changed back by any sort of enchanted lightning, not just Shazam's. So, if Thor knows that, or just happens to hit CM with the lightning, it's Thor vs. Billy Batson. Which is a short and potentially tragic fight.
I would actually expect it to be written as CM talking Thor out of fighting, though. The wisdom of Solomon would tell him Thor wasn't a bad guy, and that they shouldn't be fighting, and that he couldn't win.

The DC guy is gonna win most of these things when talking about how would win in a fight, because Marvel dosn't make many chatacters that are over-powered. In Marvel there's hardly ever a God-like character that just can do all things (Superman, Captin Marvel, Dr. Manhattan, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, WonderWoman, Darkseid, Brainiac, Bizzaro, Zod) most Marvel characters have one or two powers, or none at all. They even limit the powers of mythological characters like Thor and Herculese.

Marvel would womp Superman...Superman just has popularity on his side his still is just an alien with power from our yellow sun...these two are gods or one god the other has the pwoer of 6 gods. Power wise...about same...Capt. is smart (yes he is a boy but becomes Capt with wisdom of Solmon) Thor has thousands of years of experiece..so Thor....who would loose???? the planet the fought on LOL :)

This guys a fool, Captain Marvel is stronger than Thor and he's WAY faster than Thor. In comparison to everything that they both have, Captain Marvel is better at it. Proved by the fact that Captain Marvel beats down on Superman a lot of the time, who beat Thor in one of these MVSDC things. My assumption on you don't know what you're talking about is that your really think that just because he's a boy, that he would loose, are you kidding me?

@JaKJaKington a fool. aren't you up to date. Thor is MUCH stronger than Captain Marvel and most likely not even close to as fast. and th' only reason Thor lost to Superman was because Kurt Busiek was biased with DC at th' time. and yes, Billy is someone with godlike power...but th' mind of a kid.

Marvel has the Wisdom of Solomon, Strength of Hercules, Stamina of Atlas, Power of Zeus, Courage of Achilles, and the Speed of Mercury. Captain Marvel is faster then thor, Captain Marvel is probably stronger too, the only thing that might make thor win is his mjolnir which is a pretty deadly, but if captain marvel ever seperated him from mjolnir, thor's down, meaning he has no thunder, no flight.

Thor is MUCH stronger and MUCH faster and is a FAR better fighter. He flew into warp speed. Wisdom won't save him. He never uses it. He's a ten year old boy for crying out loud.

@Wolverfragdude907 Hercules and Thor are toe to toe in hand to hand combat in the marvel universe, Captain Marvel has hercules strength meaning he could go toe to toe with thor in hand to hand combat, but also he has 5 other gods powers. lots of thors powers are just in the hammer, and if he ever got seperated he won't win.

@Johonywuzhere are you fucking kidding me? They went toe-to-toe ONCE a long time ago Hercules lost in an arm wrestling match to SHE HULK. Thor went toe-to-toe with HULK and killed SENTRY. Those aren't powers of gods, just qualities. He just has brute force and speed. I know Captain Marvel can summon lightning at times but HEY Thor can manipulate that. There's no way Thor'd lose. He can be seperate from th' hammer

@Wolverfragdude907 If Marvel Hercules got beat by shehulk he most likely let her win he has gone up against Hulk before and Hulk couldn't beat him. Hulk has easily beaten SheHulk before. I read somewhere that Thor can freeze time so he would have unlimited speed. In another story it says he moves at a speed beyond comprehension how fast is that? Thor doesn't have to go to a rock of eternity whereever that is to travel through time.
