  • KSL in Salt Lake City was also known as WTVJ West, was also a CBS affiliate before switching to a NBC in 1995 like what 'TVJ did. Like Renick, Weaver, & Rosen at 'TVJ, KSL also had a top notch news staff in Dick Nourse (who had anchored the chair more than Renick), Bob Welti (the Bob Weaver there) & Paul James (who was the Bernie Rosen of SLC), later did play by play of BYU football. KSL's ownership has never changed, while 'TVJ was family owned until is was bought by NBC in 1987, switched in 89

  • When CBS bought WCIX, wasn't there any way to improve its singal? The Channel 6 transmitter was near Homestead, which is 40 miles south of Downtown Miami, so without cable or satellite, channel 6 was unviewable.

  • they couldn't move the tower because it would have affected WCPX/WKMG in Orlando

  • Then maybe they could've built another tower but with half the power so it wouldn't affect WKMG but still be able to cover Broward County. Well, with the transition to digital TV, I guess the old towers are no longer necessary.
