I have an idea - why don't all of us with under water mortgages march on Washington and demand that individual's receive the same consideration as Washington gave the financial institutions. Together, we are "too big to fail".. I don't see how the economy can recover without us.
B of A is one of the worst. They lowered my aunts payment by $8 after a year in process. They had earlier approved her for a $600 decrease in payment, but that one was a "boo boo" and they rescinded the offer. But there are some good ones out there. I modify loans for a major subprime lender, and we're nothing like the banks shown in this video. If you're struggling, don't lose hope. And you DON'T DON'T DON'T need to pay a lawyer to help you. Go to loansafe.org or hopenow.org.
Remind your constituants and lenders that any homeowner with an application for assistance in review CANNOT be foreclosed on in accordance with the HAMP guidelines. "Any foreclosure action will be temporarily suspended during the trial period, or while borrowers are considered for alternative foreclsoure prevention options." Lender conveniently forget that line of the guidelines.
Awesome Congresswomen. I to am in a legitimate loan modification business and we fight for our homeowners everyday and face the same run around. I agree with bonbuttercup about persistance but disagree about calling twice a week.
For anyone modifying a loan, the key is persistence. You have to call a minimum of once a week, preferably twice. And STOP writing doom and gloom hardship letters! The rat bastard lenders want to see a STABLE borrower. And putting clothing, gardener, home maintenance, eating out, entertainment, boat/motorhome payments, and 2nd homes on your financials won't help your case.
I'm a loan modification negotiator on the side of the homeowners. Everything in this video is EXACTLY what I deal with every day. WAMU is the absolute WORST! B of A has been 'merging systems' for a week, and have lost 3 modification files entirely after 4 months of 'review'. I modify about 15 loans every month - yes, it is possible to do this, IF you're working with a good company, IF the person handling your file knows what their doing. 3 words: CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!
So many homeowners are being destroyed financially by the lack of action from the loss mitigation depts of the lenders and banks. It is a crime against the American homeowners as it is helping to destroy our values.
Hey Keith9223 news flash!!! Owning a home is not a right. If you can't afford it, you can't keep it. Why don't all the do gooders in America who think profit is bad, start your own loan company, so you can give everything away for free, and we'll see how long you stay in business.
Guys, go hire a professional modification company. My company does over a 100 a month, and we deal with banks like Indymac, Countrywide, Wamu, Bank of America, etc. It's a big hasstle and takes about 3-4 months with tons of paperwork. If you professional results, hire a professional. The banks will not like you for it, but you'll get a real modification, not the crap they hand out because you don't know better.
my wife and I are going thru the same ordeal it is hard to keep up when you are a sick person and then they say to you that because you are behind 2 months they cant help but if you are not behind they still cant help you,all they give you is the runaround! hope there is help!5/6/09. GO GET THEM!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!!!

Having the same issues with PNC Mortgage... 9 months of incompetence and a total run-around. Ridiculous.

File a lawsuit against the banks! That is the only thing they understand! Countless people have had to file lawsuits in order to get a modification.

The whole banking system is a fraud. Fractional reserve lending is a fraud. The fed reserve is a criminal gang. Wall street is a ponzi scheme.
