Just for the record to the nay-sayers - this definitely still works. The "barrier to entry" is that most won't convert an article into a PDF executable file or figure a way to create a software to submit. But doing this myself - it works. Panda has absolutely nothing to do with PAD sites.

The more non-relevant links you have linking back to your site... the more likely the search engines will actually LOWER your Ranking over time.

Actually it is enough if you get your page to dmoz and/or google directories, because smaller ones look bigger ones for filling their own directories. This is how it happened with my page which I got to DMOZ.

So it doesn't make sense to submit manually your page to hundreds directories.
